Normally he would have sought out the attention of his tangerine-eyed partner in crime, but Sachiel had no desire to entertain. Ironically, after being brushed off by the grumpy teenager, the tawny boy was in the mood for some solitude. He wasn’t interested in being social, not anymore. He was irritated with the newcomer and was completely bewildered as to how Askan had allowed such a wet leaf to join the Edge ranks. But who was he to question his leader’s authority? Surely there had to be some justifiable reason as to why he had accepted the blue-eyed yearling. Askan was keen on allowing freeloaders to join their ranks. Not when the pack was still so small—especially since Cottongrass’ disappearance only continued to prolong.
