Ink had certainly not come into the conversation with his Alpha thinking that it would turn into a a few days of scouting. In fact, he hadn’t thought it through at all. However, it would be a good thing for him to go out on a mission with Phineas as it would give him ample time to see how his leader worked face to face. Whoever the young healer was, he would be thankful to meet and understand. It would be a decent learning experience and Inkheart was more than happy to have her tag along.
With a nod in agreement, he realized that he would need to wake up bright and early to prepare himself for their trip. He supposed he would meet this Eponine and then they would set off southeast to acquire more information on the newly found pack. Without a second thought or another word, Phineas nodded to his second subordinate and began his journey back to the main den. Or so Inkheart assumed.
Although it would have liked to follow his Alpha into the den he had a feeling that he was going to be talking to Borlla. Perhaps he should tell Zia that he was leaving? After all this time here in the pack Zia had been the only other pack mate that he had truly started a friendship with. They had many things in common so it only made sense. Inkheart set off then, hoping to find her before sundown to tell her that he would be gone for a couple days’ time with Phineas.
