RE: bwp: quarrelings - Yvly - Feb 20, 2016

[dohtml]

OOC here!

It seemed the strange creature hadn't noticed her and she swiftly slipped past it, not even giving it a backwards glance as she scurried away from the pungent smell it carried. She saw Wraith's large form up ahead, but he wasn't alone. A wolf of similar colouring to him stood at his side, smaller, yet holding much of the aura surrounding them. An alpha by the looks of it. Yvly hadn't expected Wraith to swing around fangs bared and so she came to a sudden stop, ears flying back upon her skull. He seemed to quickly realize it was her though, and greeted her with the affection she had originally expected. Fluffing out her fur with a huff, the tawny female gently nipped him back, maybe slightly harder than she normally would have. "Well whatever they are, I'd be more than happy enough to have them gone."

She then turned to the other female as Wraith explained who she was and if she could join them again those creatures... whatever they were. It seemed the dark female was slightly annoyed by her presence, but at the same time didn't mind that much as long as she kept out of her way. She could agree to that. But the mention of a pack mate interested her, though she didn't press the woman for answers. She could always go and ask Veho about it later. "I assure you I'll stay out of your way," Yvly affirmed, moving so she was now standing next to Wraith. But it seemed they were not alone as other members from Willow Ridge just poured out from the willow trees. A near yearling by the looks of it, very quiet yearling and an older female. Just great. If the two creatures didn't get her then these wolves just might.

The darkly furred leader barked out orders to her and the other Willow Ridge members, sending the tawny female and Wraith to go try and take down the smaller one, or at least keep it busy for a bit, while she and the rest would go for the larger one. Glancing at her larger friend with a lopsided smile, Yvly brushed her shoulder against his before following the wolf in charge, swinging to the side so when the two scattered (if they would), she could get in between and herd the smaller creature away from the other. Wraith would do most of the taking down if it came to that, but she could at least keep its attention by darting to and fro.

Lucious would never admit it, but she took a lot of comfort from the warm flank of her brother pressed up against her. Helga snorted, indicating that the wolves were closing in now. To be sure, their yipping and whining was loud and obvious, though their intentions or plans were beyond the two pigs. "Don't let them get between us," Helga grunted. She was the brains of the operation, despite her small size. Lucious was certainly the brawn, but was no linchpin when it came to these sorts of encounters. He had no choice but to go along with the smaller female that outranked him by miles.

Over the snow appeared a dark dog, lunging directly for them. As Lucious was the one with the eyes on the meadow, it was his duty to take her on. And he was not afraid. His size far exceeded the black coyote's. He held his head and tusks down, waiting for the moment when she would come crashing against. Slightly tilted, his great head concealed the crack in their defense that the wolf was aiming for. When at last he felt the weight against his snout he gave a powerful shove, almost enough to flip her in the air. Helga, on the other hand, eyed the wolf that had come from the woods warily. It had joined with the others but now was appeared on her right, but made no move to attack. Stupid dogs.

Round 3! No posting order. New round will be posted 3/19/2016. At least six wolves will be needed to take down both pigs.
Lucious tossed Morg away with his tusks. Helga is looking at Yvly.

RE: bwp: quarrelings - Wraith - Mar 05, 2016

Wraith nodded seriously to @Morganna, tensing as she leapt into action and charged straight for the tusked animals. Though his instinct was to rush to the defense of his Alpha, the black brute did what was asked of him and prepared to follow after @Yvly. He wanted with all his brawn to race straight for the smaller pig as Morganna had, however, seeing how her attack had gone, Wraith instead opted to circle around behind the pig.

Despite his size, Wraith moved like his ghostly namesake when he put his mind to it. Slinking through the trees rather than meeting Yvly in the clearing where his black pelt would stand out against the stark white snow, the male kept his eyes on all that happened while he moved. With the larger pig distracted by Morganna, Wraith began to stalk behind the female with soft steps. Now, with no tusks in his face to startle him away, the brute jolted forward in an attempt to grab the animal's leg just below the hock. He hoped to pull it off balance with his strength, leaving a safer opening for Yvly and his other packmates to move in. Ending his silence, excited and deadly snarls passed between his teeth.

Though it had been Morganna's intention to take the larger pig first, perhaps it would be easier to rid themselves of the smallest and take on the largest. Rage tended to make any wily creature stupid. Wraith had a feeling these animals were not exempt from that.

Wraith attempts to grab Helga's back leg and drag her backwards/off-balance for @Yvly, @Isuni, @Greer, and/or @Niles to help take down.

RE: bwp: quarrelings - Greer - Mar 06, 2016

[dohtml]

He listened silently as his sister gave instruction, directing the wolves where to go and what the plan of attack was. The idea of pursuing the boars was utterly terrifying, but the large creatures were a threat and needed to be dealt with immediately. The ridge wolves would not allow some pigs to disturb their home.

Wraith made the first move, slinking off into the trees to accomplish his part of the plan. The shadow prince was unsure of who the tawny female was, but clearly she would be of use to the Ridge wolves. Studying his ebony queen for a moment the boy took off, disappearing into the trees behind Wraith. The boy did not follow the older male’s path, however; instead, he veered off to the right, hoping to get an opportunity to lunge at the smaller boar if Wraith succeeded in grabbing hold of the creature. Just as he watched the older male lunge at the pig a sound from behind caught his attention, causing his steps to falter as he threw his head over his shoulders to get a better look. The larger pig was in pursuit of Morgana, attempting to fling her out of his way to disrupt their hunting strategy. It seemed as though these feral creatures were not going down without a fight. He half-snarled, half-howled for one of his pack mates to lunge at the female boar Wraith was attempting to fell. His path changed immediately and he hurled himself in the direction of the male boar, his teeth bared and ready to draw blood.

Due to his slender figure and long legs the shadow was able to move quickly and come at Lucious from behind. Greer knew he would not be able to take down the larger pig by himself, but he needed to distract it from going after his sister — or another Willows wolf — again. He snapped at the creature’s heels while ensuring he was constantly moving, his deer-like legs flinging his body forward and backward with expert speed. He would keep this up until the smaller boar was taken down — or one of his pack mates came at the male. The Willow wolves would not lose this fight.

Greer was going after Helga with Wraith, but he is now focused on distracting Lucious from going after Morganna a second time

RE: bwp: quarrelings - Morganna - Mar 10, 2016

I feel like I'm back in kindergarten. As everyone should be by the end of this post. If I've misinterpreted/stuffed something up correct me, it is almost midnight here.
@Yvly @Isuni @Niles you're up :)

A bitter smile crossed Morganna's face as the pig swung its head. So much for nobody getting gored. The air was knocked from her lungs as her feet left the ground. She could feel those sharp tusks rake along her ribcage but adrenalin performed miracles and if the filthy animal had managed to break the skin she probably wouldn't notice until this was done or she bled out. The first blow delivered, Morganna's world took on a familiar red tinge as her shoulder hit the ground first, and much like when she fought Pierus and attacked Piety a heady, giddy feeling overtook her.

She was convinced she was invincible.

Dragging herself upwards with a grunt and teeth bared in a fearsome snarl (or perhaps it was a toothy grin), sharp eyes watched Wraith grab at the smaller one and Greer move to distract the bigger one. This plan needed a re-think. "Capable!" her bark was short, a swing of her head indicating she should go after the smaller one too. If it was out of the way they could work as a team to bring down the bigger one too.

The creatures had proven their point. They were not startled deer to be cowed into a corner. She moved to stand by Greer, angling her body to shield Wraith pulling on the smaller pigs leg should the big one choose to go for him next. Her teeth still bared in a threatening display as she growled and snapped. She didn't want to be thrown again but old gods help her if these ones got away like the last.

RE: bwp: quarrelings - Niles - Mar 11, 2016

[dohtml]

"I saw... a thing," he began when Morganna had tilted an ear towards him. His teeth grit together but he would not continue. A nudge to his shoulder was what made Niles aware of his older brother Greer and he stopped talking. He wrinkled his nose and grimaced at his stark black sibling, not truly afraid but apparently unnerved by the idea of having two such alien creatures this close to home. He pointed with a jab of his nose in the air to direct Greer to the sight of pigs. A chuff had Niles' head turning to the side to see a red-furred woman in their midst. His large ears came up then fell back as he eyed her, expressing his unfamiliarity with her. He supposed if his sister didn't mind having her near, then he would pay no mind to her.

His silver irises focused now on Morganna, rather than the grunting beasts close by. Perhaps if he paid more attention to his superiors, he would not mind the ferocious teeth, stumpy legs, and boulder-like bodies. Wraith had looked at him but Niles had missed it, he was much too keen on staring at his sister's shoulder and scowling at the idea of losing an ear. Pack politics were of little interest to him at the moment but they would be soon enough. He would have to ask her later - of Cedars and other packs - but for now all he wanted was to be of use now that he was here.

"You, too," she added at the end of her spiel of battle tactics. Niles stared up at her like a baby bird, one ear coming up in surprise while the other remained flat and to the side. To her instruction, he gave a firm nod. He would always obey orders if it kept him safe.

storm the castle, guard the crown;
fire an arrow, bring you down

Niles eyes everyone else who has come to join them, spare for Ylvy, and accepts their roles in the chase/hunt/thing. He is ready to charge when Morganna is...

RE: bwp: quarrelings - Craw - Mar 15, 2016

Let me know if anything's wrong or if anyone wants something changed, it's hard to jump into a thread with so much going on and keep everything consistent!

When the call had gone out for Willow Ridge, Craw felt both pride and disappointment simultaneously, and yet he had turned towards it all the same. Wraith's howl for aid had been faint, far off to the south, but had carried far enough to reach him, and the pale beast pushed himself into a steady lope to answer the call. That Wraith hadn't called for Craw alone twisted his gut, but ultimately he had to accept it; either the matter was too important for the two of them, or the black wolf was properly integrating himself into the pack. After the trouble they had had fitting him into the pack's full ranks, how could Craw be anything but satisfied with that? It's what he wanted. And with his own distance of late, as he ruminated on the significance of the season fast approaching, he had likely been pushing his main asset away. That would have to change.

The squeals and snorts were signal enough that Craw was close, not least when combined with the snarls and shouts of voices both familiar and not. Heart beating fast after the pace of his run, Craw was already plenty warmed up, and leapt out onto the fringes of the scene, giving him a few moments to absorb it. Much of the pack were there, most importantly among them Wraith and Morganna - the latter of who Craw arrived in time to see recover from being tossed aside from the heftier boar. Boars. He hated boars. Dangerous and volatile, they were hardly worth the effort, but he had seen the damage that the creatures had caused while passing through the nearby territories, had smelled their brazen stench. Maybe it was time to deal with them, and with so many now gathered...

The sight of Niles caught his eye, stood next to his sister, which gave Craw pause; this was not a safe place for a child, but the experience would certainly be formative.

Morganna had called to Capable, had indicated that she support Wraith who was snapping at the hocks of the smaller female hog, and so Craw's decision was made. Rushing forwards to support his ally, two massive wolves bearing down on the rear of the same pig, Craw let Wraith bite low while he aimed high, intending to rake his teeth through the boar's flesh around the base of its tail and rump, trusting that Wraith would buckle its legs - for if so and it was unbalanced, Craw would half-mount the beast and force it to the ground with his bulk. Just so long as they kept the front end away, they had the upper hand.

RE: bwp: quarrelings - Isuni - Mar 16, 2016

[dohtml]

Everything seemed to happen all at once.  The pigs had no intention of giving the wolves time to think or a plan an assault, and chaos erupted in the immediate aftermath.  Jolting as one of the beasts tossed Morganna as if she were as light as a leaf, ears laid back.  She might have rushed for the woman’s side, but her directions were clear.  Help Wraith.

While she wasn’t entirely sure who Wraith was, his position and forward activity made it evident which wolf was the one who needed her assistance.  Pinning her ears against her broad skull, the woman whirled about.  She charged like a wildfire through dry timber – Craw beat her to the punch.  She hadn’t even seen him arrive, but he seemed intent on aiding the swarthy male currently clinging to the male boar’s ankle, and she wasn’t about to argue.

Lips peeled back to reveal a sharp row of teeth moments before she lunged, depending on the boar’s distraction as the pair of males clamored at its back.  Her purpose was evident – straight for the throat.  A horribly dangerous place to be, but if she could neutralize one threat, forces would no longer have to be divided across two.  Jaws flashed angrily as claws scrabbled across the ground, seeking purchase where she might tumble the boar even if she did not land a grave injury.

tldr;; Isuni heads instructions and assists Wraith/Craw with the smaller boar.  She goes for the boar's front end, hoping to push it to the side and grab at its throat.

RE: bwp: quarrelings - Yvly - Mar 25, 2016

[dohtml]

OOC here!

Yvly prowled forwards, keeping well clear of the creature before her which seemed to be trying to stare her down. She responded by baring her teeth in a silent snarl, waiting for when Wraith attacked so she could join in. Though with her smaller size she would not do much in bringing it down. Luckily for her a much larger grey male arrived just as her friend went to grab the animal's hock, also aiming to grab onto something at the rear end. With two large males they could surely bring it down in victory with not too much damage to them. However, it seemed there was to be another helper, as suddenly a russet and black form streaked past her, lunging to grab at the creatures' throat.

Shaking off her surprise the tawny female finally pushed forward instead of hanging back like she was so used to. While the two males went for the back and the other female went for the head, Yvly aimed to latch her strong jaws onto the creature's front shoulder as to prohibit any form of mobility. If they could keep it from moving or running away then taking it down would be easy enough. Trusting the others to take down the larger boar, Yvly focused completely on the task at hand, jaws parting to reveal teeth that would take hold and never let go until the target no longer moved.

[dohtml]

With a grunt of pride, Luscious watched the bitch soar through the sky like some sort of cloud. But clouds did not land on the ground this heavily. Or bleed. Too distracted with his own ego, the bull was not prepared for the blitzkrieg about to strike. His comrade's pained squeals pulled him back into reality when it was already too late. There was a wolf somewhere beside him pulling on her leg to his left, but he could not turn himself well enough to do a damn thing about it. And besides, before a moment passed he was engaged with his own dog clinging to his shoulder on the his right side. Had he been lithe like a deer he would have brayed and bucked to throw it off, but Luscious was a pig and not particularly mobile. Shouting out his battlecry once more, he did the only thing he could: he hopped slightly and threw all his weight into his right, hoping to land on his side and crush the stupid fleabag who was stupid enough to grab hold of him. But damn it hurt.

Meanwhile Helga felt as if her ass were literally on fire. She tried to kick out whatever cur was holding onto her, but he was so heavy that she couldn't even raise her leg or wrench it from his needled trap. And then there were worse problems: the wolf watching her out in the forest, another one coming her way. Shit. The worst pain of her life radiated from her ass with even greater intensity now, and it felt as if a tree had fallen on her. It was not the wolf that had her leg, since he was unfortunately still very well attached. Must have been another. "Do you fucking job, Luscious," she cried, unaware that her fellow boar was currently engaged. He was supposed to have her back. The flames from her rear were so great she thought she would pass out. But she needn't worry about that, because one of the wolves was here to help her.

Helga hardly even felt a thing.
