[TfT] Amber Stone - Spirit of Wildwood - Jun 27, 2016

Tit for Tat, This or That

On the shore of the Loch you discover a stone, rich and brown, glittering in the shallows of the water. You fish it out and discover that there is a mosquito or a bug of some sort stuck in this brilliant rock. There are some bubbles of air in there, but the bug definitely can't breath. How long has it been trapped in there?

Comical. This was the only proper way the copper male could explain the current event temporarily striking down the select few members whom hadn't been given a heads up beforehand about the tainted rabbits finding their way into the pack caches. Warned by Eek herself about her plans before they had been performed, Eirian had made the decision to avoid eating the hopping mammals entirely unless caught freshly by the doings of his own jaws. A precaution he was wise in making to ensure he didn't add his name to the list of victims already enjoying a good system flush out while also keeping his paws clean of any suspicions considering the plans he had in the works.

Today's trip outside his crimson domain and into the darker, foreboding atmosphere of Umbra Copse south of the Secret Falls; after skirting about the edges of another pack he had no intentions of mingling with although the piece of information in regards to their location may prove to be of some use later down the road, ran parallel to such secretive plans known only in confidence by a lady in black, his co-conspirator. Together the duo had began alternating turns venturing beyond the safety of the Pines territory in search of something, but just where that something was was yet to reveal itself to either of them. Had the responsibilities tied to his role of being king not provided an anchor of sorts that forced him to return sooner than he would like each time; since a prolonged absence of a leader was greatly frowned upon, unlike Eek who was capable of enjoying more slack in the rope line, there was sense of urgency to investigate and get back before anyone took a closer inspection at his departure.

Pausing his steps, a dark masked face lifted to spectate the first rays of dawn breaking through the tall canopy above and painting the tops of the leaves in shades of pastel oranges and pinks, a disgruntled noise echoing off the back of Eirian's throat. With the coming of sunrise meant he would have to start heading back soon since he had purposefully left under the cover of night once everyone had fallen asleep. So far his journey down south was proving fruitless, no single area wielding anything he could deem worthy of his plans, but there was no denying an underlying sensation that he was on the brink of discovering something great.

Citrus gaze dropped down from the branches above as a sudden glistening caught the corner of his eye, adjusting his line of sight to catch the faintest silhouette of what appeared to be the shoreline of a body of water and something in the muddy banks shimmering in hues of orange under the faint rays of sunrise. He padded closer for a better inspection of the amber colored rock he came to notice once his paws rested on either side of the object, lowering his skull to sniff at its smoothed surface. Instantly the copper man's thoughts wandered off to that of his companion @Nalda and the enjoyment he remembered skittering across her face when she had found something of interest within the rocky rapids back home. Something like this perhaps. "Odd.." Eirian murmured aloud when his inspection revealed something quite tiny that looked like an insect of some form trapped in its solidified center spare the few air bubbles dotted randomly.

Deciding this rock could serve as a nice gift of sorts for the Zamora girl jaws parted to securely grip the amber stone once a quick glance about solidified there was no competition for the precious stone lurking in the shadows. Eirian may not have found exactly what he was looking for here, but this trinket would appease him for the time being. Surely he would return in the future for a more thorough scouting trip of this area if he didn't send @Eek in his place instead to do some exploring of her own.

A solid five minutes of scouring every inch of the surrounding area only to find nothing misplaced, nor the presence of another daring to fight the fiery king for his prize left Eirian confident enough to begin the trek back to the Pines territory. Smug smirk settled on inky lips the man's grip upon the amber stone only intensified to keep the object secured in place as he walked, creamy limbs following the prints in the mud that signified where the bulky male had stepped previously before having his attention captivated by the glistening stone. Hopefully Nalda would find this a worthy gift if he could remember to bestow it upon her considering he would have to hide it for a day at least considering there were other things he would need to attend to upon hisĀ  return.

One last glance over a charcoal dusted shoulder and the man was off with a bound toward home, citrus gaze ever watchful of his surroundings for unwanted guest that decided to pop up after it was too late while paws struck hard and true at the soil beneath him. Leaf litter and dirt alike flung up from the ground in his wake, a few chatters from the canopy inhabitants conveying their disapproval of being disturbed by Eirian's reckless barrelling through the vegetation warranting a muffled snort to escape the sprinting wolf. The amber stone was as good as his now.

Exit.
