There were so many things on Inna's mind after returning from Whitestone and telling Lorcan the news. Now that she was home for a few weeks before they set off to find their meeting place the ebony Baranski had a lot of work to do.  She’d broken pack law and now needed to make up for it.  The only way she could think to do that was do whatever she could to support the pack, show her mother that Hearthwood was where she wanted to be. What Kisla had said about Hearthwood being a revolving door had hurt because she'd stayed through everything.  She may not have been the best daughter as Alek had pointed out but she'd only left one time without telling anyone and she hadn't stayed gone. So for her mother to lump her with the rest of them who came and went like Aleksei and Karina after this mistake had really upset her.

Inna was glad that she and Lorcan had agreed to wait a few weeks before setting out.  It would give her some time to get the permission she needed for a scouting trip as well as to find the plant he'd spoken of.  Maybe if she brought some of that back to Lachesis it would help redeem her for her lapse in judgement.  She'd gotten up before dawn to set off for a patrol and to refresh the markers.  Then she'd set off for a hunt midmorning which she hadn't been as successful as she would have liked. All she'd managed was a small Lemming and a squirrel but it was better than not having anything to bring home.  With both creatures lying next to her on the ground Inna began the process of putting them in the cache.
