Maybe there is hunger in my blood - Lacey - Jun 04, 2017

Referring to events in this thread. Would love to play with any or all of @Lana, @Cannon and @Suka! :D

we were born hungry, hungry for the rush

It went without saying that Lacey was a lover of life and all it had to offer her. In particular, she was a lover of her life, with her ma and pa and no one else to share it with. She spent her days with one or both of her parents, the center of their attention, and they the center of hers. She knew nothing of the pack she was destined to properly join one day or the responsibilities expected of her. She didn't know that she would grow and become her own wolf in time. For now it was just her, Kerberos, and Maera, and Lacey wouldn't have had it any other way.

So it also went without saying that the arrival of three more cubs, while exciting at first, had put quite a damper on this cub's mood. She stared across the den at the three newcomers with flinty eyes and a stubbornly set jaw. Her little ears were pricked to their highest. She didn't understand dominance yet and didn't intend to convey that, but it was interest as well as mistrust that kept her ears straight and forward. An ugly crinkle marred the top of her blunt muzzle, which was tucked toward her chest as she pouted jealously in the corner, wondering where she went wrong, that Kerberos and Maera felt a need to add these others to their lives. Wasn't it better with just her?

Try as she might, Lacey couldn't quell her curiosity about them forever. She didn't like the situation much (it would become much better when she understood that it wasn't permanent), but she would have to deal with it. So as the sun was rising toward its peak in the sky, setting the den ablaze with light, the pudgy young Rigel waddled over to the nearest Tainn cub and greeted them with a firm, no, and a puppy-sized scowl.

Lana Tainn

Lana hadn't noticed her elder sister's absence, having been too young to grasp the concept of time, and unable to comprehend the fact that it had been days since she'd last seen her. Thus, she re-accepted the eldest of the Tainn siblings with an outstretched muzzle, and a few nips to her delightfully large face. What she could understand, was that Treyah up and left them to go off on her own adventure.

Through muddy eyes she glared at her supposed babysitters, openly displaying her displeasure at the whole situation. Mum would return to save them soon, her rounded sides heaving with milk and her soft tongue ready to pour over their fur. Or maybe Treyah, who'd let them bite her ears, and face, and legs. She was warm too. Yep, Lana would just have to hold out a little longer until they could be rescued.

So focused on staring daggers at the big ones, the cub almost missed the little one. Small and brown, she looked a lot like Suka. How fascinating. Displeasure was quickly replaced with intrigue, as her dark ears pricked forward to rest high atop her head. Then the strange girl did something even more interesting, as she moved towards Cannon's chubby frame to offer a simple, 'No.'. Lana decided then and there that she liked this one. She liked her very much, and wanted to keep her. Wasting no time, Lana joined in on the fun, shuffling over to her brother, and scolding him for.. well.. something? "Bad Can, bad." Following up with a nudge to his side, she hoped he'd understand that it was all in good fun.

the battle gun
Cannon Tainn

"No"

That was Cannon's favorite word! But how did the strange new cub know? Well, suppose it didn't matter, obviously the pup was trying to reach out to him and his siblings! "No! Way-See say no!!" He giggled and hollered, pudgy belly jiggling respectfully as he found himself quite amused with the whole fiasco. "No no no no-o N- No!" the Tainn repeated in his familiar babble. If it was a bond the young fae sought, then together they'd form the best 'no' bond yet.

It wouldn't take long for Lana to join in, though the vibe's he caught off of her just weren't the same. She was scolding him! Clearly that wasn't what the new pup was doing! Gosh, why was she so stupid?! Glaring at his eldest litter-mate, Cannon let out a large, well, rather large..ish bark of disapproval. "W-ana bad! I'z good! W-ana.. W-ana.. Stink!!" He giggled once more, proud of his sick comeback. "W-ana no no-noo-n!" he added for dramatic effect. Roasted. The pudding-framed pup then sat back in anticipation of his sisters soon-to-be tears. Nobody could possibly survive a burn that intense after all. If this didn't impress the new fae, then nothing would.

Very close inspection would reveal the slightest wrinkling of Lace's muzzle and the tiniest hint of a lifted lip, an indication of displeasure that she was wholly unaware of. As it was, she simply looked like an overly fluffy pup puffed up like a kitten and all of her indignation was lost in translation. The two darker cubs responded to her reprimand, which she supposed was well and good. The first one followed her example, a fact Lacey found funny and empowering—yeah, do what I say, even though I meant you too, she internally cheered—while the second retorted with a jiggle of his flabby belly.

She wasn't sure which was the more fascinating: the wobble of his stomach or that he knew her name. At some point, they'd probably all been introduced by Treyah, Kerberos and Maera, but sulky Lacey had been paying the barest minimum of attention if that. She had no idea who these cubs were, only that they had invaded her life. That Cannon was probably more observant and had learned her name was sort of like an amazing magic trick to inattentive Lacey, whose awe reached critical mass. Lana was pretty great, if only because Lacey was an attention whore the kind of wolf who approved of willing followers, but Cannon was a bloody magician and automatically cooler for it.

She'd forgotten her desire to scold these pups until they left her den and her family. She shot the paler one a glance, but his lack of involvement made him boring and she soon forgot about him. She turned back to Cannon, wide-eyed, and asked, how oo nooo, paused, then finished with, I Way-seee, as if he didn't already know that. Then, because she had yet to fully understand how conversations actually worked, she swung her head around to Lana and repeated, I Way-seeee, for the female cub's benefit.

Lana was still laughing about the 'No', when Cannon came at her with some crap about stinking. Uh-uh. Mum always kept her clean! How dare he. With fire in her eyes the cub yelled, ready to smash any happiness that her brother might ever have to bits and pieces with a comeback of her own. "Bad! No!" Not good enough. She had to add something else, but what? "Can fat. Big fat." If that didn't have him tucking tail and running for home, she didn't know what would. Muzzle in the air, she added a, "Hmph." for dramatic effect. She wanted him to know just how done with his shit she was.

Her attention easily swung from her brother to the small brown girl, being that she had yet to form any sort of attention span.
"Way-see?" She had to try it out for herself, taste the syllables on her tongue, and gauge the importance of it. It was easy to say, and it felt nice bubbling up from her throat. Yep. She liked it. "Way seeee!" She giggled, the sides of her own pudgy belly heaving with each inhale. "I Waaana." Because that was the proper way to introduce yourself, right?

RE: Maybe there is hunger in my blood - Suka - Jun 17, 2017

Sorry I'm late

Separating himself from the others had been easy enough, finding a sunny spot, partially shielded by an overhanging bush, the boy busied himself chewing on a twig he had broken free from his shelter. Sharp blue eyes watched his larger siblings squabble among themselves, wondering who would come out on top this time. It was with a some degree of interest that he watched the small brown one stomp towards Cannon and open her mouth.

No.

The blonde boys head cocked and eyes narrowed with displeasure at the word, especially from this strange girl. Lana, of course thought it was a game, and Cannon, dense as he was joined in. Suka heaved a sigh of disappointment, seemingly the only one to realise something was amiss. The big one that wasn't mother had herded them to these strangers and taken off in a huff. Mother had seemed strange too, half way through a story when her eyes glazed over and she wandered off. It wasn't the first time it had happened, but it was the first time she had been gone this long.

As they got on with introductions the boy allowed himself a sulky sigh. He hoped his sister would return soon. His stomach gave an angry grumble of agreement. Very soon.

Sorry for the wait!!

Normally insults toward his weight wouldn't bother Cannon, however in the heat of the moment Lana somehow managed to hit 'em just right. "No!" Cannon practically screamed. "I no big fat! Y-You.." Crap, did she really have him on this one? No, come on.. There's gotta be something better.. "Waana wook li-ek a big toes!!" He grinned, then soon after bursted into a fit of giggles. Was he wrong though? Did she not kind of resemble a toe? "Soo-kah! Waana wook li-ek a big toes!!" He continued his fit of laughter, hoping his brother would back him up on this new discovery.

"Way-see.." How did he know her name? Surely he had heard it from someone, somewhere. Right? Or maybe.. Did he have magical powers? "I.. uh..." He stopped, heavily trying to recollect where this sudden knowledge had came from. But no matter how hard he tried to remember, nothing really came to mind. "I jus'.. Knoowwww!" He was trying to impress the girl now, perhaps have her think he was just like.. Really really smart or something, however her attention had seemingly already drifted back to Lana. "Wanna wook a lot li-ek a toes." He huffed. "An she no know li-ek me. She dumm."

Lana basked in the glory of besting her brother for all of one minute, before he started spouting out more crap. Still, it looked as though she had gotten the better of her dim-witted sibling until.... 'BIG TOES?!' Muddy eyes narrowed as the girl quickly glanced downward at the her own paw. She most certainly did NOT look like that! "No. No!" Wildly, her gaze swung toward their youngest sibling, the look of disinterest reading clear on his face. Well fine, if he didn't want to stick up for her, then she would have to stick up for herself.

Cannon then had the audacity to bait Lana in to his little plot to drag Lana's name through the mud. Stunts such as these were not tolerated by the dark cub, who had already decided that Lacey would belong to her. Her fatter brother could just shove off and bite himself for all she cared. Then, oh-ho then he decided to reiterate that toes thing. Irritation turned to anger in a flash of claws, and teeth. A tiny growl rumbled from her throat, as Lana lunched for Cannon's pudgy frame, intent on biting into his side. They'd just have to see who was laughing at the end.
