Warriors Way - Nyssa - Aug 01, 2017

Set one day after the fight with Tyne.

Nyssa had earned a few more battle wounds, which in time, would heal and scar over. Her dark pelt of midnight would hide them well, and the marks worn on her muzzle would serve as a form of pride.

Certainly, between her and Tyne, the pack wolf was in worse shape than she was. He was a tough opponent...that she gave him credit for. But in the end her experience won the day. That wasn't to say she got a fair beating herself. The fight left her sore, bruised and bleeding from her wounds. None of them were life threatening. Not yet. To move on, she had a plan. The first task of which entailed a bath to cleanse her body of Tyne's scent, the cedars and rinsing her wounds clean to reduce the risk of infection. If she were to linger in the area or run into any other wolves, especially one's from the pack in which Tyne resided, she could afford no chances of her crimes being discovered. Best to wipe the slate clean and cover her tracks.

Arriving at the lagoon the sight of the water drew her in like a bee to honey. Yellow eyes surveyed the area for signs of prey and other predators alike. Blood crusted her dark fur, long since dry and tangled in patches. Creeping to the edge of the bank, she lowered her head down for a testing sniff at the water. Then, one paw at a time she slowly eased her way in, until the cooling liquid washed up over her shoulders and over her spine. She closed her eyes and sucked in a breath in preparation to dunk her head under, when a rustling amongst the trees behind her made her turn to look.
