the ground taunts my wings - Lachesis - Aug 29, 2017 Lachesis & @Laike are at the borders of WRF looking for @Jessie, but anyone else from WRF is welcome to join :B | morning, sunny
please let Laike post before jumping in <3 scout dem 1/3 [dohtml] The trek toward the Fields was both long and boring. Everything seemed so much closer in the lowlands, as it was flat and barren, but it was the exact opposite. It had taken three days for the ghost and his second to arrive at the sea of gold. Three days of boring landscape and sore paws. Unfortunately it needed to be done, as he promised @Reyes that he would visit the rye fields and assure Jessie that he had no intentions of severing their alliance. Maintaining a relationship with the western pack was important to Lachesis. His former co-lead had stressed the importance of being on good terms with her aunt’s pack and the ghost wanted to honour her memory by ensuring that no more incidents occurred between their members. The other Artemieva was a man of few words, but so was Lachesis. The pair was able to concentrate on travelling through the lowlands with few delays (which included the rock-kicking, grumpy @Askan). They had actually arrived at the borders of Wild Rye ahead of schedule, which pleased the ghost. It meant that their journey back to the Kingswood would be just as quick or, perhaps, even quicker. He hoped. Being away from the river for too long kicked in his anxiety and left him with a dull, gnawing ache in the pit of his stomach. It was not that he worried about leaving the pack in the paws of his blue-eyed sparrow (@Lilya). He trusted her immensely. XIX just did not like being away from his family for long, for he worried about them far more than he should. Shooting the tawny male a quick glance out of the corner of his eye Lachesis tipped his nose to the sky and called for Jessie (along with any other members of the Rye who wanted to pry). RE: the ground taunts my wings - Laike - Aug 30, 2017 [dohtml] The trip was not filled with useless chatter and laughter. It was a mostly silent trip and when the reached the borders it was obvious that they had both come on business. Laike let the pale alpha call out for Jessie as he stood by his side. The stocky male had promised to stick by him through this little meeting before attending to his own business with Miss @Adelayde. That was if she was around and not out doing whatever it was she did in her spare time. Ah, that sounded bad of him - not entirely knowing what the female he fancied did when he wasn't around. He was a bit of a useless boyfriend, wasn't he? Shaking those thoughts away he let his tail hang limply and head hang a bit, practically heavy with his own thoughts. "Got faith this will go well." He whispered softly to his pale company. Lachesis was a reasonable man and from Laike's experience (but obviously not from @Lorcan's) the Rye wolves were all reasonable. He couldn't see the need to be stepping on each other's tails and toes if it could be avoided. Maybe with the gap between Lorcan and Inna's return and his and Lachesis's leaving the wayward Hearthwood child would finally be ready to return home. Would certainly help pave over some of the tensions back in their forest. art by kydnt
RE: the ground taunts my wings - Chimera - Aug 31, 2017 Couldn't resist! <3 [dohtml] Another boring day stuck at home. Kasai huffed in mild frustration. Well, he'd find a way to change that. The smallest Tainn was growing into a master of mischief, and he rarely stayed idle for too long. But what should be on his agenda today? Chasing down some pesky squirrels? Digging out the burrow of a marmot? Or raiding someones cache and sneaking the goods away to his own hiding spot? Tail flipping up automatically, he took of in a stiff legged stride right to the borders. He grew closer, and as did the figures of two wolves standing there. One off white, the other light agouti. They smelled different. Actually, they smelled an awful lot like that new girl, Rissy. Pushing his way through the thinning stalks of gold, his ruddy brown head appeared as a distinct dark spot of fur. "What'cha want?" He asked bluntly, completely bypassing formalities and all manners. [/dohtml] RE: the ground taunts my wings - Risaela - Sep 02, 2017 The Rye wolves had been so good to her for the past month, but the second that Risaela heard Lachesis' howl, she knew it was time to go home. Her heart fluttered in her chest and she changed directions instantaneously, her longer legs carrying her much more quickly over the grasses than they had a mere month ago. Unlike Chimera's dark head showing up over the fronds, Ris was a streak of silver in a field of gold. She breezed past the younger, smaller pup, and skidded to a halt just before reaching her leader's forepaws. She'd definitely grown, she noticed, as she took stock of the fact that she actually came up to around Lachesis' chest now. The child didn't have to tip her head back too far to meet his gaze, and for a moment she was too happy, breathless, and excited to actually think that she might be in trouble; that Lach might not want her to come back with them. It hit her like a tidal wave, and, without breaking eye contact, her silver orbs began to flood over with tears. Her chin wobbled and her face crumpled, because she had missed him so much, and she was so scared that she'd messed up irreparably. "U-Uncle C-C-C-Cloud," she whimpered, pressing her ears to her skull and tucking her tail between her legs. Her posture screamed every bit of I'm sorry please forgive me I love you and I missed you. ...She didn't even register that Laike was there. [dohtml]She was happy to be home. The Rye beta was finally able to get a long, undisturbed nights sleep in the protection of her personal den within the borders. Once she had felt up to par again, the Snow woman moved back to the communal den. She had wanted to guarantee she received a full nights sleep without the interruption of a toe up her nose or a paw in her back - not that she minded anyway she liked the closeness of the communal den. But the journey to their neighboring packs wasn't a comfortable one to say the least, sleeping in abandoned dens without furs or even out under the stars when they had to. Though the latter wasn't as terrible as it seemed. Today, she was out patrol once again, having gotten herself back into the swing of things. Reinforcing a few scent markers, the large woman was about to turn back to seek out the pond when a familiar voice rang out through the air. The River king was here. She assumed a few reasons why he could be here. Risaela and the recent conflict between the River scouts and the pesky Rye men. She arrived quickly, though just hearing the end of the scolding the Rye Queen gave little Chimera. Her mismatched seafoam eyes meeting his fiery gaze briefly -though longing to for more than just a glance. She turned to Lachesis, "Nice to see you again, Lachesis," after she stopped besides the little River pup. Letting Jessie take the wheel, her gaze drifted over to Laike again, meeting his gaze if he let her. RE: the ground taunts my wings - Lachesis - Sep 02, 2017 scout dem 2/3 @Laike @Risaela @Chimera @Jessie @Adelayde [dohtml] “I hope so,” he hummed in response to the tawny male’s words of encouragement, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. He was not looking to take the river cub home—not if she didn’t want to. While he wanted her home, the male knew that she was grieving. Everyone in Hearthwood was still mourning the loss of the matriarch, whether it was obvious or not. There was nothing he could do to speed up the grieving process. Lachesis was here to issue an apology to the queen of the golden fields and to let her know that he did not think they should sever alliances over the informalities that had occurred between his scouts and hers. The first to arrive on the scene was a dark cub, presumably the same age as the river children. The boy walked with authority, his tail flicked up toward the sky as he sauntered toward the older males. Clearly one of Jessie and Drestig’s. A single brow rose at the cub’s blunt greeting but he kept his tongue in check. He cast his second a quick glance out of the corner of his eye before returning his focus to the smudge, his voice level: “We’re looking for your mother or f—” The words were cut short by the arrival of a familiar face. A face he had not seen in many weeks. A wide smile tugged at his lips as the silver-eyed girl flung herself toward him. His tail wagged frantically behind him and, for a moment, he had forgotten why he was here. “Ris,” he cooed in greeting, his eyes softening as he studied the little Tainn: “You got bigger!” She had adopted a submissive stance but he did not notice, nor did he care. He was not angry with the girl—he couldn’t be. He pressed a reassuring lick to her forehead, his features neutral as the familiar scent of the older Tainn struck his nostrils. “Jessie,” he greeted with a warm smile once the mother had scolded her son for his bold words. As expected, the queen’s second was not far behind, her mismatched eyes settling on the Hearthwood pair once she arrived at the borders. “Adelayde. It’s good to see you both.” Now that formalities were tended to there was no reason for Lachesis to beat around the bush any longer. “I’m not here for Risaela. I told Reyes that if, and when, she was ready, she could come home. I will not force her to leave. I can tell you are taking care of her and I am grateful for that.” He paused, his chartreuse gaze focused on the older Tainn. “I’d also like to apologize to you, for what happened at your borders with my scouts. I hope that you don’t think their actions are a reflection of myself, or the rest of Hearthwood. Maintaining a relationship with your pack is just as important to me as it was to Kisla. And, despite my scout’s suggestion, I have no intention of severing our alliance, nor do I think it needs to be.” RE: the ground taunts my wings - Aleksei - Sep 06, 2017 You're free to skip Aleksei if you want, he's just here for Ris. ;w;

[dohtml]guardian demonstration 2/3 After she arrived next to little @Risaela, the beta intended to let @Jessie and @Lachesis discuss what needed to be said, only letting her presence to be supportive to Jessie and also to let herself selfishly be in @Laike's presence as well. Seeing the pale agouti made her feel lighter and much happier as she hoped he had time before he took his leave back to the River to spend time with her in secret. However, she would have to just wait in and see how this meeting was going to pan out and what exactly the two River males needed. |
