pour some sugar on me - Vere - Oct 23, 2017

Halloween RE: You've eaten a few too many overripe apples, and you're starting to feel a bit tipsy!
Content warning: Intoxication/inebriation

Roving paws brought Vere to a small dormant orchard tucked within the dark forest, the once fruit-bearing trees now leafless and barren as the trees prepared themselves for winter. It was a little disappointing, if she had come across this place earlier in the season she might have had a feast of fresh fruits. But as she passed through the grove she noticed that beneath the heaps of fallen leaves that littered the earth, a few apples remained. The were well past their prime, but Vere wasn't about to be picky when she hadn't eaten a good meal in a few days.

Vere's blunt snout prodded beneath the fallen leaves, finding the soft fruits with relative ease. The sweet, fermented taste was almost pleasant enough to disguise the bitter bite that lingered underneath. Apple after apple went down easily, the hunger in her belly soothed as a warmth began to spread down her limbs. Soon she was no longer searching out the apples to fill her stomach, but rather to feed the heat that spread across her skin and the fuzzy feeling that pleasantly clouded her thoughts.

Her heavy paws stomped unsteadily over the ground as she moved, now roughly shoving the piles of dead leaves aside with an uncoordinated recklessness. With a little too much exuberance and a harsh laugh chortling out boldly, Vere kicked out at a mound of leaf litter, laughing even louder as her paw squelched and burst a rotten apple hidden within, flinging the rancid fruit into the air with a spray of sticky juices.

RE: pour some sugar on me - Ambrosia - Oct 24, 2017

Deep down, something was telling Ambrosia to leave the Notch too, as he had roamed the nearly empty territory before angling outwards, towards the creepy woods that lurked nearby. He had to strech his legs and more importantly, he needed room to think.

Something must be driving those wolves away so why not leave before he was struck with it as well. And the pack was getting so so small. He almost couldn't believe it, because while the notch had never been the biggest pack, at least during his time there, it still had a decent numbers.

And part of him was disappointed in those who had left, especially those without saying a single word. Why couldn't they have said something to Emrys or Jynx or someone? A simple explanation would have been suffice surely? Perhaps their paws itched and they wanted to roam. Yet a bigger part of him would feel even worse if he left now. The Notch needed him, even if it was to become something else. Ambrosia had weathered everything so far and he was going to stay to see it through.

While he was exploring, though it seemed more like he ambling about, he noticed a peculiar smell pass his nose. It wasn't exactly the smell of rot or anything, at least not of meat but almost like...apples maybe? He frowned as he followed the smell.

Yet a loud chortle had him freezing in his place, almost giving him a heart attack because he wasn't actually expecting to run into anyone.

"Hello?" He called out as he finished weaving through the trees and came across a girl...playing? In the leaf litter and surrounded by plenty of overripe apples. "Are you okay?" He cautionly asked, as something felt a little...off.

Vere's ears pricked a second too late after she heard a voice cautiously calling out to her, the squelched apple she'd kicked into oblivion immediately forgotten and abandoned for the newest distraction. Her head followed, the motion delayed and over-exaggerated as her eyes settled, half-focused on a russet brown male looking at her with a look on his face edging towards concern. She smirked, her paws unsteadily weaving over the ground towards him as her tail waggled behind her.

"Am I okay?" She drawled, rhetorically parroting his question as she drew closer, close enough to invade his personal space if he didn't move to maintain the distance. Close enough that the bittersweet scent of fermented fruit on her breath wafted over his face as the next words left her lips. "Why wouldn't I be okay?" She continued with a throaty chortle. Indeed, she couldn't think of one thing that seemed off about this situation. She felt great, reveling in the delightful sensations the apples had inflicted upon her.

RE: pour some sugar on me - Ambrosia - Nov 08, 2017

Taking a step back as she drew closer, Ambrosia wasn't prepared for just how close the other wolf would get so his muzzle crinkled as an awful smell was breathed over his nose. Ah, so that's why the girl was acting so weird. There was an uncle of his who loved it when apples fell and fermented like this.

Ambrosia had never really known where his uncle found the apples but his family often whispered over his head about it when he was a pup.

"well, I'm glad you...are enjoying yourself," going over in his head on what to do, Ambrosia licked his lips. While part of him was curious about the apples, he wasn't sure if it's be a good idea. Particularly with how his uncle and now this girl was acting and how his family always used to look down on his uncle.

But in the same instance, whatever it was the apples did, they seem to make whoever ate them happy? So they couldn't be that bad. Though he was hesitanting, Ambrosia figured he'd at least try one. He'd always been curious about them anyway.

"do you mind if I join you, in...in the fun?" though he was sure the apples and the area in general didn't belong to anyone, part of him still felt as if he should ask the other if he could eat the apples.
