RE: The Distance - Elyan - Nov 08, 2017

[dohtml]

His hopes were a little dashed as his mother told them they needed to stay put during the hunt. Then his father backed her up and Elyan...well he wanted to stick his tongue out at both of them. He had been looking forward to this hunt since the meeting and now he had to 'stay where it was safe’. The gray boy looked over at his sister to see what she thought of the whole thing. Surely she couldn't like the idea of staying put since he wasn't even sure Arwyn was capable of it.

They had to wait for the others to come he was next to his sister and the bump he gave her. It didn't seem that she liked it too much because the next thing he knew he felt her teeth on his ear and a tug. A small growl rumbled his throat as he jumped on her and pinned her to the ground. “Don't do that Arwyn,” he said looking into her yellow eyes. A glance was thrown to their parents to see if they would say anything. “It's not very nice.” He then let her up and went to sit where he had been to wait for the others. It was only a few seconds before Tyne and Ambrosia both appeared. Then his father spoke about getting started but it looked like the plans for the hunt would be up to his mother.

RE: The Distance - Arwyn - Nov 08, 2017

The cream pup huffed at her mother's words, they had to stay put, really? If she was going to have to be at this hunt then why couldn't she be part of it. She rolled her eyes at her mother and her father. There were so many other things she could be doing right then but her father had even agreed with her mum. She looked at the pale man hoping maybe he would know what she was thinking so she didn't have to say it. Maybe he would change his mind and let her and Elyan be a part of the hunt. The longer she looked at him though it didn't seem to be working and it looked like she and her brother we're destined to sit this one out.

The nip to Elyans ear was most certainly not well received as she soon found herself laying on the ground under her brother. She smirked at his words, “You shouldn't have bumped me if you didn't like being nipped,” she told him cheekily, “What are you going to do about it anyway way Elyan? Mom and dad are right there,” she whispered lifting her muzzle until it was close to his ear. Then he let her up and she took that moment to pounce on him and nip his ear again to show him he couldn't boss her around.

RE: The Distance - Jynx - Nov 23, 2017

[dohtml]

Shortly after her arrival, their two remaining members Ambrosia and Tyne, made their appearance. Gleaming yellow eyes swept across them each, lingering on Tyne, pleased to see that he was healing well. Well enough to come out and join his pack mates for a hunt. Like Emrys, she was quick to brush aside Ambrosia's tardiness. "Better late than never. The more, the better." She smiled warmly, only to be distracted by the mild squabbling of her son and daughter. Fixing the growing pups with a stern eye, her lips formed a thin line. "Settle down, both of you." If their antics got too loud, they could spook the herd. Arwyn in particular, may need some extra supervision.

Her pale mate turned to her, naturally, as the most experienced and knowledgeable of wolves present, when it came to hunting strategy. From one face to the next, she looked, a plan of action swiftly forming in her brain. "Yes. With our numbers, we should have no trouble pulling down a full grown adult." Tyne, she had noticed, seemed a little unsure of his own readiness for a hunt, but she would still put him to good use. Her yellow eyes fell on the former sea wolf. "Tyne. If you feel you are not yet ready to participate in the hunt, then you can keep an eye on Arwyn and Elyan, explaining everything that unfolds." Next, she turned to Nauja. "Nauja, I want you to come with me. We will circle around to the back side of the herd, and pick out a target. When we find one...preferably a weaker animal, we'll flush it towards Emrys and Ambrosia for the take down." She said simply, her eyes trailing towards the males at the end of her sentence. They were slightly larger than she and her dark second, better built with brawn in mind, whereas she, for endurance. After a pause, she surveyed the group one more time. "Any questions?"

RE: The Distance - Tyne - Dec 02, 2017

A little bit after his arrival another showed. The dark brown male was unknown to the sea wolf. Golden eyes looked him over as he sat opposite of him on the other side of Nauja. There would be time for introductions another day. Now was time for the hunt. Charcoal dusted ears pressed forwarded as his gaze returned to his leaders as they gave out instructions. It seemed like his uneasiness about his abilities didnt go unnoticed. Jynx suggested that he was unsure then he could watch over the pups and explain to them what was going on. The Kersey man was fine with that for her really didnt think he was ready. If he tried and failed he didn't think he could barely letting those who had done so much down. So Tyne gave the tawny woman a dip of his head in agreement. Golden eyes went to the pair of pups he would be watching and gave them a smile. This was very important lesson for them and he was honored to explain everything. He just hoped he did an okay job.

RE: The Distance - Ambrosia - Dec 17, 2017

With his ears flicked upwards, Ambrosia listened carefully to the plan Jynx was telling them about. Each wolf she gave direction to, giving them an idea how to proceed in the hunt so it could potentially be successful.

When her eyes settled onto him, saying that they'd be directing the animal towards him and Emrys for the take down once they found the right one, Ambrosia nodded. He could do that. Though he wasn’t the largest of wolves, he understood he was one of the bigger ones in this pack and thus could be better suited in bringing down the prey then someone else.

When Jynx, asked if there were any questions, Ambrosia found he had none to voice so he stayed silent and simply waited to see if anyone else spoke up.

RE: The Distance - Emrys - Dec 19, 2017

[dohtml]

While they waited for the other members of the pack to arrive the children decided to have a small scuffle between them. Jynx was quick to correct them and Emrys was ready to reinforce what their mother had said of they chose not to obey her. Soon the rest of the pack was there and awaiting their instructions. His mate being the hunter that she was he let her give out the orders that their subordinates were to follow during the hunt.

He was pleased when she gave Tyne the option to sit this one out and watch over the pups. While the healer in him thought Tyne could get back to his duties he also didn't think it was bad for caution to be observed. Nauja and Jynx would be picking their target and bringing it to him and Ambrosia at which point they would take it down.

Emrys looked to each member of the pack when his mate asked if any of them had any questions. It didn't seem they did so there wasn't any point in them standing around. “It's a sound plan,” he told Jynx before turning to the rest of the pack, “Lets set it into motion. Ambrosia you and I will go find a place to stay low until it's time for us to do our part.” He then turned to his children, “Elyan, Arwyn you two behave yourselves and listen to Tyne.” With that he gave a nod to his second and headed off to find a good place to keep themselves hidden until the time was right.

RE: The Distance - Nauja - Dec 19, 2017

The children were disciplined by their mother and neither of them looked too happy about it. She understood why they needed to stop their squabbling sonthst they wouldn't scare the prey away. The sea wolf was glad to see Tyne had come out for this but it seemed that he wouldn't get hunting with them which she thought was probably a good idea.

As jynx continued she learned that the two of them would he chasing their prey and picking it out. It was something they couldn't do until they got into position to do the chasing toward Emrys and Ambrosia. They we're nearing the time when everyone would have to be at their best if this was going to be a successful hunt. Once Emrys indicated they were getting start Nauja waited for further instruction for the pack Matriarch.

RE: The Distance - Elyan - Dec 19, 2017

[dohtml]

Not one to disobey his parents too often unlike his sister Elyan would do as his mother said and stay behind. Though he would much rather he out there learning and experiencing his first hunt. Their tossle was soon out to a stop by their mother and a glare was sent in Arwyn's direction. He wasn't ready to stop picking on his sister, that was his job as her older brother after all. He remained on his haunches as his parents started talking to the pack and explaining how the hint would go.

As it turned out he and Arwyn would be watched by the Tyne man. Elyan hadn't had the chance to really meet him since he had been hurt for a long time. His father had explained it and had even let him help give Tyne the herbs he needed. The gray boy couldn't help but wonder where they would he watching everything from. Soon his father was moving so he looked to Tyne to see where they were going.

RE: The Distance - Arwyn - Dec 19, 2017

[dohtml]

The cream pup wasn't too happy about the idea of being left behind. She hadn't really wanted to come in the first place. At least she might have had the chance to have a little fun but her mother had spoiled it. What was the fun in sitting and watching everyone else have all the fun.

They would be staying with Tyne, which she didn't have a problem with the man. She wondered if he was going to make the sitting as much fun as the actual hunt itself. If she was going to have to sit and watch she at least wanted it to be worth her while. She was already upset because she and Elyan couldn't finish their disagreement. She supposed she would have to find her brother later and finish it. Arwyn wanted to go with her father when he started moving to find him and Ambrosia a place to hide. So the question was where would they go. Like her brother she too waited for Tyne to take them where they needed to be.
