"Well, Icicle Pelt," Kuru retorted, "it might be good to sleep here for a few nights, as long as the weather holds out. It'll be a good opportunity to build up our strength."

He found another good bit of meat and nibbled at it. Once finished, he did a quick stretch-and-roll. He barked, "I'm bored now. What if we go fish just for fun? You had some real confident words about your fishing skill eralier," he recalled. "How about we put those bold words to the test?"

Kuru flexed his claws and cast his friend a sideways glance. "Unless your bark is bigger than your bite," he taunted.

OOC! Before you can post again, go to the fight request thread and ask them to roll for you.  Once they have they will tell you 'hit' or 'miss', and then you can post your reply based on that.  If we want to get lp for the scuffle, they each have to have 3 posts in which they are actively fighting, and you have to number them like I did above my word count.

Scuffle Post 1/3

Word Count: 136

They weren’t eating long, as Ash clearly wanted to hang around the area for a few days. It wouldn’t hurt to take some time to rest and play in the water, as long as they didn’t have to expend too much effort defending their moose.

She nodded at the suggestion of fishing, though she’d never been one to kill for fun. Between the two of them, she knew the fish would get eaten. Still he taunted her, and she was prepared to dive completely into the water to prove him wrong, until he said the magic words.

“Unless your bark is bigger than your bite.”

She growled playfully and pounced on him, knocking him over and grabbing his scruff in her teeth, though she was careful to attenuate her bite so she didn’t actually hurt him.

Scuffle post 1/3
Word count: 160

Kuru yelped and ducked as his friend lunged at him. Ice rolled Kuru onto his stomach, and he felt teeth in his scruff. He let himself keep rolling, and used the momentum to escape his opponent's grasp.

The gray wolf heaved up to a stand and squared his shoulders. "It's a fight you want, huh?" he called. "I accept your challenge!" The words he spoke for the hundredth time gave him a surge of confident energy. Kuru charged at the snowy wolf and aimed for her front leg.

But his jaws closed on empty air. Surprised, he tried to adapt, but the growing man had forgotten how big he was. All his weight caught up to him. He pitched forward, tripping and landing on his jaw. "Owww..."

Gotta get back up! he commanded himself. He probably didn't have time; his friend was quick. He elected instead to bare his teeth and brace for her next move.

Scuffle post 2/3

Word Count: 145

Ash used his superior weight to escape her grasp, but Anaia was able to scramble to her feet quickly.  Her friend charged her, and she danced out of the way.  He tripped over his own feet and faceplanted, causing the snowy girl to choke back a snicker.

He rolled back to his feet, challenging her again.  She was somewhat daunted by his bared teeth; it had been a long time since she’d sparred.  She usually just ran away from a fight and couldn’t remember the last time she’d actually been in one.  Still, it didn’t hurt to practice.

She feigned left, switching direction and striking to her right at the last second. She slammed into him, knocking him back over as her jaws closed around his back leg and pulled.  She didn’t bite down; she wanted to put him on the ground, not hurt him.

Scuffle post 2/3
Word count: 166

Kuru was in the grasp of the other wolf. He felt he was about to be beaten. But he wouldn't surrender yet! He still had fight in him.

The gray wolf didn't attempt an escape this time. He wanted to try something. He threw his other hind leg over his opponent's head so she was trapped between his paws. In one swift movement, he shifted his weight to drag Ice down. It seemed to work; he had a moment to get all four legs back under him.

Then Kuru made a massive forward leap. He landed straddling his writhing friend. The young wolf scrambled to pin one of her legs to the cold ground. He drew his free claw over Ice's flank, taking care to keep the touch light.

His belly was exposed to the other wolf's hind claws. Rookie mistake. He tensed and watched her pale paws, ready to dodge if she kicked up. "Your move, Fur-and-bones," Kuru growled through gritted teeth.

OOC! To end the scuffle have him cry yield or something  There's nothing formal. Side note: Wolves don't fight with their claws like felines do.  They use their paws to slap or pin but their claws can't really cause enough damage. They reply more on their jaws.

Scuffle Post 3/3

Word Count: 117

Anaia was surprised to find her head suddenly pinned between her friend’s back paws. She was pulled over and quickly forced to her back.  She struggled underneath him for a moment.

“Your move fur-and-bone.”

What is with this guy’s names? She idly wondered before forcefully kicking her hind legs up to push him off.  She twisted her body, using the leverage to knock him sideways while sliding herself along the ground away from him.  She kept up the momentum to roll to her feet and strike while he was still off balance.  This time she was able to get on top of him, pinning his stomach against the ground.  “How was that?” She snarled through her smile.

RE: Friendship = Stupid nicknames - Kuru - Nov 23, 2017

OOC: Thanks for the info. I just went and researched canine claws for an hour XD Now I know a bit more.

Scuffle post 3/3
Word count: 121

Kuru saw the kick coming, but it did him no good. Ice was slippery. She kicked him and slid to freedom, then fully knocked him to the ground. He grunted as he fell, hard. His opponent pinned him, and though she was smaller, Kuru didn't think he could throw her off this time.

He squirmed under the mass of white fur. Kuru made one last, desperate lunge at Ice. There was too much force and too little aim in the blow; his shoulder smacked into the unforgiving dirt.

Klutz wolf! his mind screamed. Kuru winced and bit back curses. This fight is definitely hers.
"I yield," he whined weakly. "Ungh, I can't breathe. Will you pleeeease get off?"

OOC: pun very intended '.^
