Breeding Season '16, Policy Update, & More!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Whether you're celebrating today or not, just know that all of you are being sent love from the RoW staff team. <3 To celebrate, we are posting the sign ups for the 2016 Breeding Season! Breeding season doesn't begin until March 1st, so there's still plenty of time to figure out your plans, but we wanted to get the information out early this year. To help explain the rules and guidelines for breeding season this year, Sarah (@Sahalie), was kind enough to make us an infographic.

To briefly summarize, breeding season will be open from March 1st to April 1st, with puppies born 60 days after the start of their parents' breeding thread. If you want to have puppies this year, you need to sign up in the registration thread before March 28th. Parents can send descriptions of their puppies to the Staff account and the full list of puppies available to be adopted will be posted in April. Puppies will be playable 3 weeks after they are born.

Head on over to the breeding registration thread for more details!

Policy Update: Skipping Absent Characters

After reviewing the results of an informal poll, the staff has decided to make a policy change when it comes to threading with characters who are on absence. From now on, it is now permissible to skip characters who are on absence in threads with more than 3 characters. This can include large mass threads like pack threads or just normal threads that have more than 3 participants. This will allow plotlines and threads to keep progressing even if one character is unable to respond for a short amount of time.

We do ask that all members be courteous when utilizing this policy and make efforts to contact the person on absence before progressing the thread too many rounds without their participation. If you're going to be on absence, we encourage you to touch base with your thread partners (f you're able) to let them know.

Have any questions about this new policy? Respond to this thread and let us know and we'll do our best to answer.

And More!

Is your wolf a scout? A hunter? A tracker? Or are you just looking at ways to have your character behave more realistically? Then we have a new library article for you! Alace (@Naia) and PuppyThief (@Aideen) have developed a new library article on tracking and trailing that details how wolves are able to scent and track down their prey. You can check it out here!

Finally, we would like to announce that Grey (@Rook) long time moderator and library manager has decided to step down from her position. Grey has been an instrumental part of the staff team and she will be greatly missed for her creative ideas for contents and new library content. Don't worry though, Grey will still be RPing at RoW with her menagerie of characters and no doubt will still be happy to point people in the right direction if they're lost in our library.
