Leotie Rhys
This is a pack hunt.  Leotie is currently towards the center of the territory and they will be heading to where they saw the deer before.  I figured they could pick up where they left off with them.  @Triell, @Naira, @Maera, @Kerberos.

With her new title came new responsibilities and Leotie was going to do her best to make Triell proud so she thought one of the best ways to do so was to start a hunt.  They still needed to catch themselves a deer to add to their cache now that they were officially a pack.   It was early morning when she had made her way to where they had seen the deer before and with luck they were grazing peacefully.  She watched the he for most of the morning for any deer that would be a perfect target for a hunt.

It wasn’t hard for her to stay hidden from the deer and she stayed down wind so as to not spook them and ruin their chances at the hunt. The large one antlered buck was with the does but quite a distance off there was one female that seemed to be liming slightly, that was the one, Leotie knew it.  All she had to do now was get the rest of the pack together so that they could catch the inured doe before the herd moved to a different place to continue their grazing.

Knowing better than to call the pack so close to the deer herd she loped off so that she would be more in the center of the territory and then she raised her muzzle into the air letting out a clear note to call the pack to her.

Kerberos Rigel
He had been circling around, marking more borders, when the call from Leotie rang. With obvious interest, he ran off from his spot. It didn't take too long for him to arrive and see her standing there in the center of their claimed area. "You found something?" His voice was eager as his tail swayed behind him. The new second noticed he was the first to arrive but was positive others would start filling in as soon as possible. Kerberos was hoping Triell would let Reiko help a bit more in this hunt but understood the precautions. He was just so eager to see how the boy did hunting something bigger and different than rabbits.

His eyes also looked around for his Mae, curious as to what she may be up to. Perhaps she had been following him around and he was just a bit oblivious to it. While the two spent any moment possible together he never felt smothered by her presence. He appreciated that he managed to crack through that tough loner attitude and found a softer side of her. He had come to realize that some things she only did with him or when they were alone. Like how she was much more chatty alone but more silent (she seemed to opt for him doing the speaking) when they were all gathered together. The tawny male was keen on getting her to upon up to the group more. With time hopefully it would all come together the way he wanted.

Maera Slayer

Maera had been towards the border when she heard the call, her eyes instantly snapping towards the direction of the call, her paws instantly taking off as she made her way towards the source – the voice was Leotie’s, that much she was certain. She arrived, taking up her silent and resilient nature as she fell in next to Kerb, dipping her head in greeting with a soft smile finding her features, rolling her shoulders back as she gazed between the two of them. It appeared they were waiting for the two leaders and their children. She didn’t doubt they’d be there soon, however.

Her tail wagged softly. “What’s the game plan?” She wasn’t sure who was taking up lead for the hunt – whether it be someone who hadn’t arrived yet, or maybe Kerb or Leotie or both would take up their own mantels, but she decided to fall back and let someone else make the decision on this one. She’d never done a prey hunt larger than two wolves and wasn’t sure she’d be the best person to organize who they needed where. “I’ve always been a take-down wolf.” In case Leotie didn’t know, that was what Maera had always done. She’d always gone in for the final kill, and made it with no questions asked.

Food, after all, was food.

Naira Tainn
do you talk to the animals, do you hold their lives from a string?
Naira

She had enjoyed a leisurely life at Oak Tree Bend, no need to drag herself out of bed before she had to, border patrols simply to reinforce those of the wolves that had gone before and to gather whatever twigs, leaves and roots she thought might be advantageous. If she found a scavenged carcass, she dragged it home to add to the cache, if she was close enough to hear a hunt called she only had to follow along as best she could and lend her weight to the end of the fight. But all that had changed. By standing at Triell's side she had agreed to all this responsibility yet again and it was with a great deal of grumbling that she dragged herself up with the sun to reinforce the markers they had laid the day before.

Everything settled down with the aches in her joints as long as she just kept moving and kept warm. As luck would have it, she was close enough to hear Leotie's summons. It would seem the other woman had been busy this morning too, and Naira smiled. Closing in on the ready congregation she noted the lack of her children, but thought to give them a few more minutes to join them before she added her own call to the chorus. With the gathered already asking the plan, Naira offered Leotie an encouraging smile with a nod of her head. This was her hunt to lead.

Treyah Tainn
won't you light my lonely way back home?
Treyah Tainn

Leotie's low call promised food, and if food was on offer, Treyah would be there with bells on. She had been looking for the herd also, but by the time she realised she was following the trail in the wrong direction, someone else had beat her to it. She couldn't be mad though, Leotie was a great wolf, she had been with them her whole life and Treyah wouldn't let something like an older wolf being better at tracking hold her back. She still had a whole year to make mistakes.

She was dissapointed to not be the first to arrive though, even her old slow mother beat her here. She greeted the woman with a smile as she forced her muzzle under the creamy chin. She couldn't stay mad at Naira for trying to kill her by starvation, now that they were here it wasn't nearly so bad as she thought it might be. She continued her rounds to Leotie, Maera and Kerberos, hoping her enthusiastic greetings would be enough to get everyone as excited for this hunt as she was. As if to further illustrate the fact that she was ready to go, her stomach gave an audible growl. All they were missing now were her brother and father. Just where could they be?

Reiko Tainn
Triell and Reiko had been marking borders when Leotie's voice reached them. Finally! She had tracked down the herd, and it was time to pursue. A whine of excitement, and eagerness built in his throat. He pressed his brown muzzle to his father's shoulder. Come on! He didn't want to be the last one there, and eagerly the boy bounded forward. He had been hoping for the opportunity of another hunt. Hoping to really be part of it this time. See what he was made of.

All Triell had to do was say, all right and the boy was dashing forward with his boundless energy. He was pretty sure he knew where Leotie must be. As his yellow eyes laid upon them, he was saddened to see he was last to answer, and yet quite proud of himself finding the group all by himself. A good hearted bark he ran to greet them. His tail wild behind him, clear of his excitement as he planted a lick to his mother's chin, and then a nose bump to Leotie, Maera, and his sister. It was Kerb he brushed up beside, playfully nipping at the edge of his rough. Then respectfully dropped his head, ready to hear their plan of action. Today he was sure Treyah, and Kerb would help back him up if there was protest o their participation. They needed to do their part, and try for themselves. Now was as good as any time.

Triell Tainn
I know they went on a hunt before this that we didn't play out, and just putting a note here as it'd mean they've worked together before.
they say we're crazy, it's who we are

With Reiko in tow they made the rounds of their newly claimed home. There wasn't a lot said between the pair, but simple questions of this and that Triell easily supplied answer to. Day after day things seemed to be a little easier, and the winter less threatening. Why the Tainn was awaiting to hear the others had found the deer herd, until then he felt the need to spend time with his son doing something of use.

@Leotie let out a call that asked for their presence, making it their official, first pack hunt. Surprised, and yet happy she had taken it upon herself he took up a swift trot. But, the man chuckled at the bouncing, young wolf at his side. Who had likely become bored with the endless trick. With his prodding, he had no qualms if he rushed forward. "All right", he smiled, following behind Reiko's trail to where the others were gathered.

His dark tail wagged steadily, as he came to stand in the circle beside Naira. He was eager for the hunt as well, and the fear of his past experience didn't linger. Orange-yellow eyes found his children, knowing like the others he could not make them stay young. Withholding them from the hunt wouldn't be fair or in their best interest. Gently he cleared his throat, "You two will be part of this. You'll be yearlings soon, and this will be good for you so you best listen all right?" He paid Treyah a longer look, but swiftly locked eyes on Leotie to let her lead this hunt. He felt she would do well, having been a part of a few within her time in the Bend, and having worked a little bit with Kerb and Maera after they had met.

Leotie Rhys

She had sent the call out for the rest of the pack so they could have their first hunt as an official pack. There was a certain amount of excitement running through her at the opportunity for the hunt but also the chance to lead the hunt. It would be her first so there was also some nervousness that went along with that. The agouti woman kept reminding herself that she did have experience with pack hunts and she could do this.

While waiting for the others to arrive in answer to her call Leotie went through all of the possibilities for their strategy. She knew they would have to watch out for the bull and possibly keep him from those taking the injured doe down. She also had to consider who would be best doing what job and where they should be during the hunt.

Leotie didn't have to wait long for the first of her pack mates to arrive, Kerb and Mae followed by Naira and Treyah and last to arrive were Reiko and Triell. A smile crossed her maw and her tail swayed behind her once everyone was accounted for. The sound of the dark furred leader clearing his throat brought her gaze to him as he told the children they could participate in the hunt. She was happy for them to get their chance to help the adults and get some training in. The memory of her first pack hunt flitted through her mind until Triell's eyes met her and she knew for sure, she would be leading this hunt. She gave him a nod before turning to the others to explain her plan of action.

“There is an injured doe among the herd with the big one antlered doe,” she started, “He's there so I think at least two of us are going to need to keep him from charging the others going for the doe, Triell and Kerb, I thought you two would be good to do that.” With their sizes she felt they would be intimidating for the bull and he might decide the fight wasn't worth it. “Treyah and Maera you take up the left side while Reiko and I take up the right to keep her from getting an opening to escape on either side. Naira, you can bring up the rear and slow her further until the rest of us can get into position to help bring her the rest of the way down.” With her plan of action she let her gaze meet with Triell’s once more for his approval of her plan.

Kerberos Rigel
asjkl sorry for holding this up x.x

As everyone kept arriving, Kerberos nodded and offered polite smiles to each one. He kept his eyes peeled for Reiko and Triell, though. The tawny male was positive that one was with the other. It seemed he was correct in his assumption as the large duo came to the rest of the group.

A warm smile spread across his face as the younger boy brushed against him and gave a nip. Kerberos lightly nipped the boy's cheek and nudged him. His eyes focused on Triell as he announced that the children would be joining them on the hunt. The Rigel male bumped his shoulder against Reiko. "I know you'll do great but good luck." It was a soft whisper to the young boy. Kerb knew there was a huge difference between the usual hare and a deer but he had complete faith in the abilities the boy harbored.

He quickly switched his focus to Leotie as she began to hand out roles and plans. "I'm keeping away a buck?!" He felt a wave of panic but accepted the role nonetheless. Pale yellow eyes looked over to the dark alpha with a swift nod. They could do this. It was obvious they both had a bit of bulk and size to them to scare off the creature but that didn't make it any less scary.
