Shayde
OOC: I am just throwing her out here since this is my first time.  Any one can join this thread or take it in any direction! All i ask is that no one pick a physical fight with her.  She is in extremely poor health and wouldn't be able to fight. (That does not mean you have to be nice to her though!)

Shayde pushed forward through the tall red and orange wildflowers.  They lapped against the side of her dark grey fur which was now singed and reminded her of the horrible tragedy she had endured only a few days earlier.  As the sun and the moon had taken turns crossing the sky overhead she pushed forward, barely stopping to rest or eat.  She was afraid that once she stopped moving, the horror of losing her entire family would catch up to her.  She had not stopped to think about anything: not the horror of the past or the blank expanse that was her future now. Now here she was, once again caught in a sea of fire.  Only this time, she did not feel panic or fear.  She only felt numb, a dull sense of self preservation pushing her forward.

She had run as fast as she could the first day, until her legs began to falter and she was forced to stop and rest.  The second day she carried on at a much slower pace.  By the third day, her muscles were burning and her stomach churned.  She needed food, but she was not used to hunting without her pack.  She expended even more energy trying and failing to find food until finally she came across the leftovers of some other animal's prey.  The meat was old, but she was desperate.  She no longer knew how many days she had been traveling, eating whatever she could find or catch.  She was exhausted, starving, and stubborn enough to ignore both of those problems until she collapsed.  It wouldn't be long now.  Perhaps her journey would end right here in the midst of the flames.  That is where her true life had ended days ago and it seemed ironic that as much as she had pushed forward she found herself here again.  A short, delirious laugh escaped her mouth. Shayde could not bear to think of what would become of her now.  Instead, she just focused on the rhythmic movement of her feet falling heavily on the hilly ground.

The pale-furred bitch rooted around in the field of flowers, searching for signs of deer mice or any other small rodent. Little as she was, it was small game that made up the majority of her loner's diet, but then, Endellion was a professional when it came to hunting their ilk. She was faster than many of them, and her quick bursts of speed gave her an advantage. Still, in this tangle of greenery, it was almost impossible to discern their movements. Endellion could hear them, but when she searched for them, there were no signs.

Frustrated, the she-wolf lifted herself into a sit and panted lightly, casting about for some telling sign of animal presence. Her ears swiveled overhead, then tilted toward a figure moving in the distance. Another wolf, dark of hair, moving steadily toward her with a gait that spoke of exhaustion. Endellion's lips twitched into a scowl. She watched the other woman from afar from a time, content to remain apart from her—she was a wolf who walked alone, but more than that, she was an opportunist, and this one presented no opportunities.

It was the acrid stink of smoke that made her freeze in place, hackles flaring to life along the lines of her shoulders. That ugly scowl on her face twisted into a snarl, and then Endellion was on her feet with her ears flattened to her skull. It was animal fear that shone in her eyes. She wouldn't get near the bitch who smelled of smoke and fire—those were things no sane animal would trifle with, so this one was either mad or accursed. Either way, Endellion's prickling display was made in hopes of warding Shayde off. She wanted naught to do with those who played with fire, nor did she want that stink driving every prey animal away and forcing Endellion to hunt elsewhere.
