Sex: MaleKaine was tired, wet and frankly pissed off that he wasn't back home. He hated this new place. He hated that those two legged creatures had took him away. No matter how far he traveled over the last year, he couldn't find a single scent that he recognized. He was beyond tired of looking over his shoulder, tired of the daily dredge of living off the land alone. He wanted communication and even though he had moved through the lands he found little of wolves.
A scent here, a scent there, nothing strong enough to mark the border of territory, nothing to mark hunting grounds to others. There seemed to be an abundant choice of prey as he made his way through opened grasslands, a lake not to far off meant even better choices for hunting but he wasn't in the mood. He needed to talk to someone before he lost his mind in this silence.
He looked among the trees with the long branches in the area. They whipped in the wind and light rain that was in the area. He wondered what sort of trees they were. He flexed his muscles, feeling the earth beneath his paws. His claws dug in to the dirt. The winds shifted and he caught scent of wolves. He sniffed again and sure enough the wind brought with it that scent once more. It seemed stronger here and he moved along following the scent until it was apparent that he was standing outside a territory line, markings all over the place.
He wondered who lived around here, were the welcoming? Would they fight? He was large enough he could hold his own, that was not a worry. He wondered if there would be pups this year. He helped raise a litter last year around this time if he recalled correctly. He sat there, he didn't call out, he presumed with the scent at least one wolf would come along eventually and spot him. It was only a matter of time.
