Cyril Kael-Santoro
late morning, sunny 64 ° F, 18 ° C | AW, would prefer for someone he has not met and then maybe a WM to jump in later if things go sideways :P tags for @Piety and @Wraith so they know what their son is doing <3

He was doing it. He was making his first trip down the monadnock without adult supervision. The sun had been in the sky a short while, taunting him from the expanse of blue overhead. It practically begged him to explore the tundra below. So, like a good boy, he obliged.

Once his parents had set out to do their patrols (after Cyril claiming he was too tired to join them) he escaped from the den. His stubby legs carried him quickly over the rock he had grown familiar with as he followed the trail he and his father had taken only a week ago. His ears remained perched high atop his crown, constantly twitching and rotating to listen for movement around him. During his time on the monadnock Cyril had learned every nook and cranny; he knew where to hide and where to be seen. If he heard something stirring the smudge would duck behind a stone, tucking his body against the smooth surface until he declared it safe to move forward. Even though both his paws and legs were small the boy was making good time.

A triumphant grin collapsed onto his dark lips as his paws met the smooth tundra, his toes curling into the dirt with excitement. Night would have been better for travel, as it would have masked his dark fur, but even Cyril was not stupid enough to explore the lowlands under the cover of darkness.

Not yet.

He hugged the monadnock as he travelled west, using the shadow of the rock to cover his dark frame. The Kael did not have a destination in mind; he just wanted to explore. His denim pools narrowed against the glare of the sun as he marched forward, trying to find something in the distance that would capture his attention.
