Open to one or two GH wolves - Aideen is calling for @Veho specifically, but I'm guessing he might not be in a condition to receive.

It had been a long time since she last made this trek; Too long..! The shift from dense thicket to more open, pine forest was almost jarring, but at the same time, she felt like she was finally able to breathe properly. She’d been copped up in the Woodlands for far too long, half strangled by the confines of her own borders. It was absurd, she’d slaved away, working herself to the bone for that place, for him, and what did she get in return?

Aideen Smoke moved swiftly through the Cedarwood, grinding her teeth as she silently fumed. Every hair on her body was still trembling with anger, cheeks hot and eyes stinging from the betrayal. She couldn’t believe it, she’d loved him, trusted him and Nina both, and they’d kept all this from her. And now her friend was gone, assumed dead, and it had all been in their plans! Tears pooled again in the copper eyes and she angrily blinked them away, further increasing her speed. She’d long come to terms with the fact that she would probably never see Iopah again, knowing how both her husband and former queen felt about the so called ‘traitor’. But she had believed that her friend was safe and happy, living happily with her mate, children and pack; Not THIS!

Learning what she had, she hadn’t been able to remain within the pack borders, hadn’t wanted to even look at her mate after what he had done. So she’d gone, taking a trip she had long needed. Now the scent of Grizzly Hollow started to fill her nose and she pushed aside her anger and hurt. She was here to see a friend, one she’d sorely missed, and she wasn’t about to hurl all her problems in his face; I just need to see him..! To talk with someone who had never betrayed her trust like this.

Coming up to the borders, the petite wolf leaned back her head, calling for Merlin in a smooth, friendly voice. The lines of fatigue still clearly marked her face, but her upset was tugged away, replaced by a soft, excited smile; I really have missed him!

Mouse really should have been back at the den. He had been allowed to nap with Rook today, but while his papa just slept and slept, the boy found himself with itchy paws and a tickled nose. Just how many purple flowers did papa need in here?! Blegh. Mouse stuck his tongue out, pausing from his pad-sucking as he considered the world beyond the den that his papa and dad shared.

He suckled on his paws for a while more until his ears came up at the sound of someone calling from far away. The woman might have vocalized the name 'Merlin' but to Mouse's bearish ears, he really thought she might have been calling him! A small gasp caught in his chest. Maybe Mama was calling him! The little Lyall scrabbled to his feet, leaving a snoring Rook behind and flying across the pine needle carpet as fast as his stocky puppy limbs could take him.

"Mama!" he called back, drawing closer and closer to territory borders. His tail had already been set in a palsy-walsy beat but as soon as he saw all that rust red fur on the woman's sides, the little hairs along his spine rose up. That was not his mother. It was too late now, though, she probably had heard him. Unsure of what to do, he halted in his tracks, head lowering as he crouched behind a broken evergreen bough. Maybe if he laid still, she wouldn't see him at all...

Silence stretched as the echo of her howl died out among the cedar trees, the wag of her tail stilling as her brows furrowed in concern. She’d never been left waiting at the borders of Grizzly Hollow, Merlin and his pack were always quick to greet with their guests; What’s going on..? Then finally there was a rustle in the underbrush, and a young voice cried out, changing her expression from worry to surprise. A glimpse of movement was caught out the corner of her eye and she turned just as the pup ducked down behind a tree branch. A soft smile curled the mother’s lips, tail once again starting to sway, slowly at her hocks. She tilted her head a little and flicked her ears in direction of the child, bowing down slightly to be as unintimidating as possible.

“Hello there,” she called in a low voice, folding back her ears and going fully down on her elbows. Making no other move, not wanting to scare the little one, she remained in that spot beyond the border, continuing in the soft coo: “There’s no need to be afraid, I’m a friend of your… Father’s?” This would be Merlin’s son, she reasoned, as he was the pack leader. Though of course, unable to see him in his hiding, it was impossible to tell any family resemblance, and when she sniffed to catch the little guys scent, all she got was the heavy perfume of drying lavender. That made her chuckled; He’s Merlin’s alright..! Now the question was just why he was out here all alone, and where his parents were; “Is he around here somewhere? Or your mother maybe?” She didn’t know who that was, her friend had never introduced her to a mate, but the pup would have to have come from somewhere, and continuing her reasoning, that would be the Hollow’s female leader. She would much like to meet her as well.

Yep, it was too late. Way, waaaaaayyyyyyy too late. The woman had seen him; she even said hello! Mouse's ears fell back; his parents' teachings in remaining respectful towards adults and cautious in the face of strangers had made him wary. Even if she seemed super nice, he wasn't going to take his chances. His dull gold eyes stared back at her.

“There’s no need to be afraid, I’m a friend of your… Father’s?”

Mouse made a face (more of a wince and a grimace more than anything else). At 3 months old (comparable to a 6-year-old human child), really, he didn't know too much better. Although, Rook did teach him to have manners - some of the time. The tail at his back gave away the playful nature just lurking beneath his timidity.

“Is he around here somewhere? Or your mother maybe?”

The little Lyall had no idea where his Mama was. He thought she had been her... "Papa s'eeping," he managed, still cowered behind his makeshift hiding place. He moved his right paw towards his maw, still keeping eye contact as his tongue rolled out to press up against his paw pads. Part of him wondered if that sort of answer would suffice. He had no idea where his Dad was either.
