Adelayde Artemieva
Mid-day; Fog 53 ° F, 12 ° C
For @Jessie only please

Routine was common within the rye fields as she assumed it was for other packs as well. Her routine hasn't changed much after the first few weeks once she dipped her toes in the water and grew accustomed to what was expected of her as a subordinate. The beta would awake at dawn -- though depending on what time she finally sought the den out the night before. Perhaps a small breakfast from the nearby cache and out to borders to run a full length patrol before returning to get numbers on the caches. If the caches were low, the Snow woman would escape to the forest or the lowlands in attempt to restock before the sun rose at it's peak.

Then she went to relax for a few moments, perhaps taking a swim or casually bonding with pack members before returning to the borders to patrol more. By evening time, she was back at the communal den most days along with the rest of her pack before they settle in for the night. However routine her life was, Adelayde wanted more purpose in her everyday routine. @Askan was already titled as a Guardian and she was sure @Reyes was attempting to achieve such a title as well. Adelayde had the build and skill -- thanks to Askan, but the pack didn't need three Guardians. It would make for an imbalance in the pack that she didn't want to cause.

Perhaps, she should seek out Jessie. She'd be able to direct her in the right direction and what would be best for the pack. Heading for the communal den as it was midday, she hoped to find her leader around here.

Oh, there was just so much going on. After the arrival of Risaela and the disagreements between the River wolves at the borders, Jessie wasn’t quite sure what to do with herself. Sometimes when she thought about it, her head would hurt just a little too much and she would have to take a midday nap. The woman had foregone her nap, however, in favor of a round about the borders. Her mother had always told her that moving around would always make her feel better. Yet, with each paw step – even a light one – that thudded against the ground, went straight to her head. At one point, the woman considered seeking out Neko to see if the woman had any kind of treatment for her pounding head. The Rye Queen decided against going to see the training medic. There were no need to waste resources on something that might go away if she took a nap.

The Tainn had made her way back towards the communal den for once – as she had been staying with Risaela in the old birthing den – to see if her children were around. Though, if they weren’t Jessie would happily nap by herself. Perhaps, Reyes was continuing on with her punishment, which he hoped he was, and were watching her children, maybe even playing with them. When she arrived at the communal den, the mother peeked her head inside, relieved to find that it was empty. A light sigh escaped the monochrome woman’s maw, a slight smile on her lips as she made to enter the denning area. Approaching footsteps caused her to pause.

Grey ears flicked back at footsteps headed in her direction. She exhaled through her nostrils, shutting her eyes tight and enjoying the darkness and quiet for one moment – and willing her headache to go away – before opening them and turning around to find Adelayde approaching. Truly, Jessie felt slightly guilty at the sight of her Second. They hadn’t really talked since the Tainn had left for her trip around the Lore and Jessie should have made it clear how thankful she had been for keeping the pack together while she was gone. Instead, the pepper-and-salt colored woman had been kept busy with keeping the males in check. Surprise, surprise. Finally, Jessie offered the larger woman a half-smile, her words soft,  as to not upset her head, “Adelayde. What can I do for you?” No one normally looked for her unless they needed something.

Today she was lucky. The Rye fields stretched far and wide, sometimes making it impossible to find someone when you wanted to. As part of the lowlands, the land seemed to be endless, though obviously the pack at their borders. It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack when seeking out someone in the lowlands. However, knowing someone's routine and patterns helped greatly. And today she was lucky. Jessie was exactly where she sought her as her soft voice spoke her name and asked what she could do for the beta.

Returning the smile, the beta closed the distance between them as her salmon tongue caressed underneath the pepper-and-salt woman's muzzle, reassuring the established hierarchy of the Rye and the appreciation the tawny woman held for her alpha. Taking a few steps back, the Snow woman settled on her haunches as she turned her seafoam eyes down towards the ground for a moment as she contemplated her words. Where she wanted to start.

There was so much she'd like to talk about, though there was plenty she thought Jessie would rather not hear. Troubles that didn't concern the well being of the pack, just troubles that muddied the beta's mind.

"I'd like to- to talk." What should she do about a man that wants her to move away and live with him? What should she do about a man that she's growing to love who's miles away from her? "I've had a lot on my mind as of recently and I'm not sure what to make of it all.." She spoke softly, her eyes rising to glance up at Jessie for a moment before they fluttered to gaze out at the wild rye.

"There's a man.. That I - I'm not sure what to do," her mismatched eyes looking to Jessie's emerald gaze this time. Her own gaze uncertain.

Adelayde did not hesitate to approach her or offer her affections. Jessie offered a light bump to her subordinate’s cheek in appreciation and watched Ade with careful eyes as she made herself comfortable. What was it exactly that they would be discussing? She offered a small nod to the larger woman at her preface to talking. Jessie had no worries about her subordinate speaking with her about things that were plaguing her mind, especially if they concerned the pack. Adelayde was not exactly one to hold back in terms of what she was thinking. However, when she finally spoke, Jessie’s head tilted slightly in thought, lips pursed at the younger woman. Not much information was offered but it did sound like a certain situation from her passed. Lips parted and Jessie spoke once again, ”This man. What is it about him that makes you confused? And what is it that are unsure what to do about?” In the end, for Jessie it had boiled down to a number of factors, most of them having to do with the man himself, but it had all worked out in the end for that couple.
