Dorian Gray
Random Event: Spring showers have come early, resulting in heavy downpours throughout parts of Relic Lore

Dorian Gray
i knew nothing but shadows and i thought them to be real.

Despite his fear of practically everything that lived and thrived in the world outside of the shadows he called home there was something soothing about the sound of rain as dawn began to break across the horizon. The first vibrant hued streaks of pink trying their hardest at piercing the world that had been tucked neatly beneath a navy colored blanket that had its fair share of swirling clouds promising more rain would be coming their way. Now, though, the night was enjoying its final hour; the blue hour Dorian liked to refer to it as based on how the world was painted in various shades of this color until morning was fully upon them, and it was during this small expanse of time that the colossal male felt safest.

A single functioning eye watched the world still engulfed in shadows become saturated in the falling raindrops that pitter pattered off the thick canopy surrounding him and the series of connected boulders that formed a nook just wide enough to shove his bulky frame into in order to avoid becoming a drenched mess. From here he was safe from the wrath of mother nature and the array of different elements she had just waiting at her delicate fingertips to throw at those inhabiting Relic Lore. Occasionally he would spy a brave woodland creature venture across the open areas to steal a drink from the roaring falls that couldn't be silenced in this rainy weather. Its source of power only become replenished with each drop that landed in its watery domain.

For a moment even Dorian pondered the possibility of leaving the safety of his nook to steal a lap of refreshing water, his long and slow journey from the cedar forest to wherever it was he was now birthing a desire to quell the dry roughness that had settled within his throat. There was one just one burning question that kept him rooted to the spot. What if he was spotted by another?

Treyah Tainn

She was ok with her mother being gone, but she couldn't shake the scent of her brother from her nose. She was convinced it was his scent beneath that tree, and it left so many unanswered questions. It ate at her and left her wondering just what it was about her that sent those closest to her running for the hills, so it was with a head full of dark thoughts and bitter words that she had trudged through the night, allowing the rain to soak her to the bone and to draw her thoughts towards the steady rhythm of her feet and the pitter patter of rain hitting the leaves overhead.

Eventually all of that was drowned out by the steady crashing of the falls. Her mother had spoken of a path to a grotto at the top and she allowed her eyes to be drawn upwards. Ordinarily the narrow track would be slippery enough with the spray from the falls alone without adding the downpour that had seemingly continued all night, and she should probably attempt it in better light too but she had inherited a stubborn streak from one parent or another and without fully thinking it through she began to pick her paw placement with care to push herself up the track that would challenge some of the most seasoned goats under the current conditions.

As she neared the top and the sky began to lighten, her sodden legs marred with mud and her fur clinging to her skin, it finally happened. She slipped and a yelp escaped her jaws as her head jerked to show her just how far it was to the ground. Her whole body tensed to cling to whatever solid ground she could grasp the feeling of falling through the air playing over and over in her head until the only way to make it stop was to clench her eyes tightly closed. Her breath hissed through clenched teeth, her cheeks puffing with the effort to contain another scream. She was safe, she was fine, she just needed to take a few more steps.

But her legs no longer wanted to cooperate.
