@Kip | he's not actually at the lake, he's in the forest east of it (72.7119, 54.49219)
Trick or Treat Thread! because they have the same one <3
It feels like something is following you through the night, but no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to catch it in the act!

It was stupid for the Selwyn to travel after night had fallen. Unknown territory, dumbass, he thought glumly to himself, his muddy eyes rolling in frustration. You keep moving and your siblings will never find you! He grumbled in response to his sharp-tongued thoughts, his tail lashing out behind him as he meandered through the trees. He should have stayed closer to the mountains; closer to where he and his siblings had originally parted ways. Only for a few days, they had said. Just to take a look around. Yeah, okay, Niccy. Another eye roll followed as he kicked at the dirt. The forest was neither dense nor sparse, but it was still difficult to navigate through as the clouds shifted above, blocking out most of the moonlight.

Just. Stop. Walking.

He ignored his thoughts and continued forward, his pace quicker than it had before. An unsettling feeling washed over him, his muddy eyes dancing around, searching for something that wasn’t there. Or was something there? He swallowed, hard and nervous. There had been something—hadn’t there? Something in the trees? He squinted, struggling to make out the dark shapes surrounding him. No. It was just his head. His big, dumb head playing tricks on him.

Yay! I'm so excited to freak these two tf out

Pale green eyes and pale fur were very hard to conceal, even in the darkest of night, but with the moon blocked by the trees, Kip managed. The tough, tiny wolf padded slowly through the undergrowth. She had no clue as to why she had headed back up north. It wasn't like it was her favorite place or anything - she was just trying to see anything and everything she possibly could before she settled down. If she ever settled down. She didn't plan on it or anything.

She wasn't positive as to why she was traveling this late at night. There was a sort of uneasy feeling that had fluttered in her chest, and it wouldn't let her stop moving. Every few moments, she had to peek over her shoulder - the normally-ridiculously-brave wolf startled by nothing but shadows and wind. This was positively ridiculous.

Well, at least, that was what she thought. Until, of course, she heard a branch crack right behind her - probably from a squirrel, she would realize later. The tiny wolf leaped forward to run away from whatever perceived danger was following her, and ended up slamming facefirst into a wall of dark, warm fur.

His pace had quickened; desperate and deliberate as he weaved through the trees, trying to shake off that irritable feeling of being watched. Followed more like it. His dark sonars were folded neatly against the back of his skull, a lump forming in the back of his throat as he surveyed his surroundings through muddy, non-Selwyn eyes.

Okay dude, breathe.

You’re not gonna die. Not like this.

No way.

This is too basic; too predictable.

Definitely not gonna die…

Just as he had managed to convince himself he wasn’t going to die, because that was reeee-dic-U-lous, something had jumped out of the trees. Into him. A monster, or something. A yelp escaped the lanky yearling as he stumbled backward, his paws scrambling at the dirt in order to put distance between himself and the ghostly figure that had rudely slammed into him. Not that a ghost, or a monster, cared about being rude.

Steadying himself he continued to back away, his upper lip curled (even though he had no idea what he was doing). Run, you dumbass. But he couldn’t. Fear gripped his legs, causing his chocolate pools to widen as he struggled to make out the pale shape among all the dark trees. It couldn’t be a ghost—ghost’s weren’t solid and this thing had definitely felt hard as it collided with him. Alive. A monster, perhaps, but it looked canid… just small. A brow arched as curiosity began to gnaw at his fear; decreasing it. “Wha’cha doin’ jumpin' out at wolves in the middle of the night!? Don’ you ferals pay attention to where ya goin’?” Being cheeky with a monster—smart move, 7.

A collision with something big, dark, and solid wasn't really on the agenda either. She had a similar reaction to the poor chap she assaulted, though she didn't bare her teeth. Instead, she hopped backward and let out a sharp, girlish yelp, eyes wide as she prepared to face her doom. Only... it wasn't her doom, per say. Just another wolf.

It took a few moments for the dazed girl to realize that the other wolf had actually spoken to her - quite rudely, of course, but that was also pretty understandable for the situation. Regardless, the comment got Kip's fur to bristle across her nape indignantly. "What the fuck do you mean, feral?" she demanded, shaking herself and letting out a sigh of relief. It was just another wolf - not a monster or a ghost or an alien or a demon. So she could rule all those things out on her list of supernatural beings to avoid.

"Also, in case you hadn't noticed, it's pitch black out, and you're dark-furred, so I couldn't see you!" she continued arguing, unwilling to admit that no, she had not been watching where she was going, and yes, she had been scared to death by the collision. She made her voice lower to try and assert the fact that she was still, in fact, a badass. "Jeez. No need to be an asshole about an accident."

His eyes narrowed as he shuffled away from the pale yearling, the fur on the back of his neck bristling as he made sure to keep his distance. Losing an ear or gaining a few scars was not on his agenda tonight. Seven could only imagine the grief his brother would give him if he got attacked by a girl. You, he retorted quickly, his tail lashing out behind him. You’re a feral. A local. Whatever. He rolled his eyes as he gave a dramatic shrug, dismissing both his words and hers. He probably shouldn’t have called her that. The ferals living in these lands did not refer to themselves as such. Only wolves who lived on the reserve called them that.

The girl continued to explain herself, earning a frustrated sigh from the peppered yearling. Maybe you should’ve been payin’ attention, he countered, a frown creasing his lips. The boy was not sure where this sudden boldness was coming from, for usually he was quite meek and stumbled over his words. He sighed, his tail twitching in annoyance. Ok, sorry, I take that back. You just startled me, is all. There was no use in arguing. He was still new to these lands and he wasn’t looking at making enemies. Especially when he needed help finding his family—both immediate and extended. You okay?
