Paradise Falls III. Second
Chan Eastfall
The dark man greeted his god son with warmth and love like always. Satisfied with the greeting the agouti boy basically sat on Kajikas front paws looking out towards everyone else. There was a grey man that Chan had seen in passing but hadn't actually met. Mismatched eyes studied him and decided that he definitely wanted to meet him. He had to be nice if he lived in the cove right?

Then he saw Lunette sitting further away from everyone else. His head tilited ever so slightly with curiosity. Why does she look sad? Chan wanted to go to her and ask her what was wrong but the sound of his name being spoken distracted him. Lost in his own thoughts he hadn't even heard the first announcement ( not that it would have meant anything to him).

They had his attention now though. A pack hunt? His eyes shone with excitement as his reddish brown tail outwardly showed said excitement. Sure chasing field mice, rabbits and birds were fun and all. But a real hunt? Oh he was so ready to help not realizing that he was still too small to actually help.

Tagg Eastfall

OOC!

------------------------------------------------------

Word Count: 254

A motion at the edge of his vision caused Tagg to glance over his shoulder in surprise.  He didn’t realize Lunette had returned again.  He smiled at her, pleased to have another member present. Then Kajika started talking, and the russet man turned his attention to him again.

So Moon would be stepping up again.  He nudged her shoulder and licked her ear affectionately.  She could do this.  She hadn’t failed him so far, and he didn’t expect that she would in the future.

The alpha’s next words caused the father’s heart to stutter.  Chan? On a hunt? He looked at his son sitting between his godfather’s paws.  He was still so small… was it really that time already? Could he help them with a hunt? Tagg knew he was probably being overprotective, but the thought that his son was growing up so fast…

He swallowed the lump forming in his throat and glanced at his wife.  She didn’t seem to be very concerned, and Chan himself was clearly very excited. Tagg wouldn’t take that away from him right now. Collecting food for winter was the priority, and Chan could help with that – even if it was only a little.

Border patrols, the Eastfall could do.  He ran them almost every day, though it was generally to clear his head and wake him up in the morning.  He hadn’t met anyone at the borders yet, so maybe it was time for him to venture beyond them again.  He would just have to be careful.

Solas ColdHeart
He was being watched and rather intently at that. Solas meet Chan's gaze curiously wondering why the boy was looking at him. Did he have leaves in his fur or something? Or could it be because he was essentially still a stranger to him...that was probably the reason. Someone you didn't know was always going to be eyed up a bit more than someone you did.

He heard the sound of another set of paws approaching and Solas's head swiftly turned to see another wolf joining them. He brows furrowed as he stared at her a slight frown on his face. Had she just recently joined them? He didn't recognize her silvery form in the slightest but it seemed that some of the others did. With a mental shrug, he decided that if she was here and the others weren't worried about her seemingly random appearance then he wouldn't either. Turning his attention back to Kajika he listened to what he had to say.

Moonshadow was stepping back up into the role as Lead Female and Solas gave her a brief nod of congratulations. They would also be doing a pack hunt with Chan there to watch. The boy seemed rather excited about the idea if his wagging tail was anything to go by and Solas found his lips twitching into a grin. Then the fact that they would all need to work extra hard this coming winter and that they should try and get more members to join if they could. Moon put in that she would be willing to meet them at the borders with new recruits as well as Kajika.

It all seemed reasonable to him but he did have a question on the hunt. Since he knew just about everyone here he didn't have an issue with talking. If he was supposed to wait for a more appropriate time though he didn't know so he figured best to get it out already while the topic was still there. What do we plan on hunting? He asked speaking up loud enough for everyone to hear him. There were the goats that he had seen on the mountain and there were probably still deer hanging around in the forest and likely some other prey species that they could bring down. But had Kajika thought of something already or hadn't he thought that far ahead yet?

Lunette Vuesain
Sorry, everyone. <3

Of course they noticed; they were neither blind nor deaf, and she wondered if they heard the sound of her shame as it poured hotly through her veins. Each glance cast her way was another reminder of that she had left, and that she had come back, with no love, and no explanation. It made her heart race uncomfortably.

There was no backing out of it now. They knew that she was here, and so, surely, the questions would come—questions she had no answers to, and no interest in answering, anyway. Her ears turned back, and she simply looked at the ground in front of her paws. She didn't want to acknowledge the fact that she was still alive and well, not yet. If she pretended she didn't exist, maybe they'd do her the courtesy of joining in on the pretense.

But nothing could block out the sound of their voices. Kajika proclaimed Moonshadow a leader again, to keep carrying the torch Namid had passed to her what felt like years ago—a hunt, for young Chan, who had nearly been killed by a rattlesnake Lunette, of all of them, had lured out of his den. New members. Unbidden, her mind went to Leotie, but the woman had seemed like she had had plans to go elsewhere. She wondered what would happen if she went to find her.

The only wolf she didn't recognize spoke up, asking about the hunt. Lunette quelled her frustration, her desire to snap something impolite; not even her ears twitched, not a hair upon her neck stood up. She simply laid there, head upon her paws, eyes downcast.

Kajika Tallis

He'd given the pack all the news that he had to give for the time being. The dark alpha had been rather pleased to give the news that Moonshadow would be leading at his side once more. It only felt right to have his best friend standing next to him for pack matters. His onyx friend remained next to her mate after the announcement. She did however state that she too would he willing to talk to anyone that was brought to the borders.Little Chan was also rather excited to hear the news that he would he having this first pack hunt soon which was to be expected.

His amber gaze landed on Lunette at the thought of her first pack hunt and if he remembered correctly she hadn't been to enthusiastic about it. She'd gotten through it and Chan would get through his too. Solas spoke up after the Kajika had finished speaking to ask about what they would be hunting, a good question.

“As of this moment no, we need to scout out which herds are currently in the area. If you would like to do that it would be appreciated,” he told his gaze resting in the pale wolf as he spoke. “Any other questions?” He asked the group gathered.

Solas ColdHeart
The newcomer didn't say anything she simply laid there not saying anything. Solas didn't bother to try and talk to her he was more interested in seeing what Kajika would have to say about the hunt. Turns out that he hadn't thought about what they would be hunting. More information was going to be needed about the surrounding herds before they would decide and he was hoping that the stormy male would be the one to scout them out.

Solas wasn't adverse to the idea to he nodded in agreement. He would go out after the meeting and see if he could find anything in the immediate area that. If not he could search the surrounding territories for something that they could bring down. He didn't have any more questions so he kept his mouth shut but his eyes scanned everyone else to see if they had something they wanted answered. He probably wasn't the only one with questions he thought as his gaze touched on Chan before he went to the rest of the pack. Unless he was just the odd duck out in this situation.

Lunette Vuesain

She tried to let the world wash over her—to let it be like waves, and she the rocks, unmoved by their rhythm. She tried to float within the confines of her body, to detach herself from it, from the situation; not quite meditation, more of an escape. An attempt to register their voices as sounds and sounds only, to not notice and know their meaning.

It didn't go very well. She wasn't light-but-steady. She was being crushed underneath the pressure of existing, yet her body didn't have the grace to reflect it. She was still a Lunette-shaped wolf lying in stillness upon the ground, not a flattened-out mess of insecurities finally given rest. She thought about the fawn she'd killed, all those long months ago. She thought about the mercy, of having something to end your waking terrors and nightmares.

Her own mercy-killing shone starkly with its absence, as always. Kajika asked for you to scout the herds out, and while Lunette might've pounced on the opportunity, she heard in his inflection that it was directed to someone else. She assumed it was the stranger, the one who had asked about it. He didn't respond, at least not verbally, for which Lunette was oddly grateful.

As Kajika began to round the meeting up, she had the urge to stand up and simply walk away—to drift out as she had drifted in, a stray bank of low clouds driven by the wind. Had it been any other leader she might've left early, but then again, had it been any other leader, she wouldn't have been there in the first place. She sighed inwardly and remained motionless on her spot.
