Following this thread, midnight, almost 24 hours have passed
@Rhamnus @Adimar, maybe let Becu go first and then Arya

Had Rhamnus known how far away the woods were going to be when she had asked the child? Had the pup really known where he was going or were they just actually lost now? The act of being the poor in distress lost friendly wolves was wearing the yearlings patience thing and he was having a harder time staying in character the longer they walked. They had slept during the dusky hours before beginning to journey again, feeding Adimar as necessary, they were after all just a pair that had needed his help and were just trying to find ways to repay him. At first they had asked him all kinds of questions about his life, not having to feign their interest in this. Father would be happy to get a full report on the wolves of the Woodlands. They inquired about the names of the pup's parents, whether they were the leaders, if he had siblings, any other packs he knew about.

Now the cover of darkness surrounded them once more and Wendigo began to hang back, letting his sister follow his cue to put some space between them and the child. The mountain was clearly to the east of them and they were continually being led south, how would they get him to change his direction? Ready to open his mouth and voice his concerns the orange eyes zeroed in on the bluffs that they were headed towards, surely the drop would be enough to kill Adimar if he was pushed. Pressing closer to Rhamnus' side he hissed, "That's close enough to being a mountain, let's just get this done now." Father would never know if he had been killed on the mountain or this small cliff, the injuries would be the same.

Rhamnus

Wendigo was struggling more than Rhamnus was but she had a full two years and the additional trials her gender imposed upon her at home to perfect her ivory facade. That wasn't to say she wasn't bored and over the place already, she had the ability to get little barbs in here and there and have them fly right over the heads of others, and it was something she revelled in.

In tandem they began to drop back, the child still within sight but far enough away that he wouldn't catch their words. "Yes dear, otherwise we'll have to hang around until spring... I suppose at least it'd be a lighter load to carry home but wintering among them?" Her smile would have looked genuine enough to a casual observer but her brother would have caught the edge to it. Her chin tilted up a fraction, her strides lengthening to bring her to a slow trot, ground eating and steady like a hunter looking for the weakest prey. "Close enough is good enough."
