The mountain goats were coming down. Bennet wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing, honestly -- they were mountain goats, after all. What did it mean when they weren't in their homes anymore? Did they migrate, like the elk? Or was it just so cold up on top of the mountains that they couldn't take it anymore? Because if that were the case, that was pretty worrying, especially given she didn't have a pack. And the loner wasn't even sure she wanted one, but where else was she supposed to go, back to Ered Luin? That felt like admitting defeat.
With a deep breath, the youth set her shoulders back and began to follow the goat's path, head low and ears pressed forward. It seemed like just one goat. Surely she could take it.
