Mabel Donata
For @Corsair and any QV wolf! Mabel and Corsair have come looking for @Sachiel because they don't know he left.
Dec 18th, late afternoon/dusk Cloudy -15C/5F
Also, they are near the border but not over it

Sachiel had told her that Quaking Vale was where all the orange trees are and so far the two pups had not seen anything orange. Mabel hadn’t even known that trees could be orange until the fall and all the oaks had changed colours and their leaves had fallen. But these trees they were looking for must be orange all the time or else Sachiel wouldn’t have mentioned it. So they just kept heading south because that was the direction that they were supposed to be going, and it had been a little over a full day so they must be getting close.

Besides, Mabel didn’t mind if it took a little longer than expected because they were going to be in huge trouble when they got home. Whatever. Any thoughts she had of being grounded (and there weren’t very many) were completely gone when they found one of the main trails the wolves in this pack used. They followed it all the way back until they reached the borders and then with tails waving a mile a minute they lifted their muzzles and called for Sachiel. This was going to be so worth it.

Corsair Donata
Corsair liked to howl, wanting to howl any chance he got... and then some. Something about the sound of someone near was comforting. He had yet to follow the sound to a howl to bad news, so the boy howled, then howl-yipped, then was done. He wasn't sure who to look for, and could only go of what little about Sachiel that Mabel had told him. He'd find out soon enough, then they could play and/or explore, and then eventually go home and face the wrath of their parents. He put it out of his mind the second he thought of it, because if he thought of it too long, he would feel guilty. It wasn't right to let Mom and Dad worry over them like he'd worried over Mabel.

Although maybe they had more confidence in them. Sure, they hadn't caught any caribou, or even anything at all, to prove that they were ready for their small trek, but they could if they really needed to. The Donata's tail wildly whipped behind him, a second wind coursing through him. There was so much to see here, and probably tons to do! He had questions, and then his questions had questions. The boy licked his nose and forced himself to sit down, scanning the trees for movement.

Pietro Archer
Whatever Pete was expecting to find at the border, two children were absolutely not it. The small shade hurried to the source of the howls, going on border watch on occasion even if he wasn’t equipped for such a thing. He wanted to ease Niles’ and Morganna’s burden as much as possible, and this was one of the ways he was able to do that.

They were bigger than he was - most things were - but that didn’t deter the young healer from offering the two a smile and an easygoing wag of his tail. These kids were on the right side of the border - they were doing nothing wrong.

”Can I help you two?” Pietro asked, tilting his head to the side as he addressed the two. When he had been that age, he had not enjoyed being talked down to, so he chose to speak to them like they were adults.

Mabel Donata

Corsair might have been even more excited than Mabel about going to the Vale, if that was even possible. He had followed her diligently the whole way, their pace picking up from a slow walk to a quick trot once they had found each other. And, now that they were here at the borders it seemed like he could hardly sit still. His howls ended in a bunch of yipping and the girl couldn’t hold back her giggles in response. Part of her couldn’t believe that they had actually pulled this off.

If she had not been so excited maybe Mabel would have realized that there was no scent of Saciel on the borders. In fact, there was so sign of her young friend at all. But, none of this registered to the pup who was so sure that now that they had found the pack the hard part of their journey was over. Corsair sat in the snow but the cream pelted child stood standing and thankfully they were not kept waiting for very long.

The wolf who came towards them was definitely not Sachiel but Mabel was still excited to be answered so quickly. Besides, this guy would go and find her friend. He was smaller than them even though he was clearly older and that was peculiar but the Donata’s had been raised with enough poise not to mention it. At least, not when you wanted something from somebody. Smiling broadly Mabel announced, ”We’re friends of Sachiel’s.” What else was there to say?

Corsair Donata
@Pietro

Corsair wanted to continue howling, but also knew better. He could almost see his mother giving him a glare, and his father offering him a lopsided smile. He was a Donata, he needed to act like one. The boy straightened up at the sight of company, surprised at how small the other wolf was. He felt the question on his tongue, begging to be said out loud How come you're so small? the words echoed in his mouth, even though the wolf had already asked what they'd wanted. What would it hurt to ask, really? Nothing, definitely! Probably?

We're friends of Sachiel's.

Thank god. Corsair got the question off his tongue and forced himself back to their situation. They were here on a sort of seeking mission... with Sach being their target, anyways. "I'm Corsair Donata, and this is my sister, Mabel Donata," he said the names proudly, as if anyone who was anyone would know who they were. "We traveled down from Oak Tree Bend to come see him."
