Ash Hervok
For @Narimé <3

The man had been content with staying with the borders of the pack, occasionally leaving in hopes of recruiting some members. Mostly, he stayed with Rory, his heart heavy for her. She was continuing to get stronger with each passing day, but Ash knew that it was hard without a mother and father. Narimé and Ash could only do so much and it was no shock that the alpha did as much as he could to secure her safety. Of course, she was getting older now and he need for him would slowly start to diminish. The Hervok knew that it would probably be the hardest part for him in this situation. He had grown so close to her and often she was all he thought about. The dark brown alpha knew that he needed to relax, but he didn't know how he could. Often he would pace back and forth until his paws hurt because he didn't know what to do with himself. Today, he had been ding just that, his brows creased, obviously in concern.

He wanted to be able to give Rory some space because now he just felt like he was consuming her. He needed to spend time with someone who wasn't a child and would set his mind straight, but in such a dark place in his tortured mind, he had no one in mind. He huffed and puffed, his mossy green eyes desperately trying to find something to focus on. He growled lowly to himself. Things were much harder, now that Athena had left again and to form her own pack where he had once happily called home. How dare she. The thought caused another displeased growl to rumble in his chest. Ash would always love Athena, it was one part of his curse that he hated. He would always love Treena and Athena and Namara....and anyone else who had the misfortune of being captured by his heart. He just meant bad news for whoever fell for him, because in the end, they too would end up disappearing one way or another.

Narimé Lagina
For once the silver she wolf was having a good day. Though she had noticed the lack of females around within the pack, there were still plenty of males sticking around to help with borders and hunting. Rory was still doing well though Nari didn't see the young girl often. She was a little disheartened at this since she had tried to get closer to the pup, but no bond of any kind ever kindled between them. Perhaps because she's not mine... She sometimes thought, but then would be reminded of the fact that Ash wasn't Rory's father either. Rory and Ash had a healthy relationship despite the non relation between them.

However despite all the little issues under the surface, Nari chose to ignore them for the day. She needed a little rest after everything that was going on. That was the way she saw it, and for once the hardworking Lagina was taking a day off. She hadn't taken a day off of anything since she joined Willow Ridge.

The familiar scent of Ash flickered across her nose as Nari steps lightly forward. Her probing gaze catches the males distraught movements as he paces back and forth some distance away. Slowly the woman approaches calling out softly with a "woof" to alert him of her presence. She didn't know what was making him so tense, but it obviously wasn't something good. Slowly she approaches the burly male before she is near his shoulder. In a rare instance of submission to the lead male, Nari lowers her head and licks Ash's chin while glancing to him with worried eyes.

"What's wrong Ash?"

She asks lightly while touching her tail tip gently to his side hoping to calm him a bit with her presence. Though usually her presence around him had the opposite affect, Nari hoped that soon he would be able to open up to her more.

Ash Hervok

The man had been so lost in his own thoughts, he had not even considered checking for any dangers within his home. It was why he stiffed considerably upon contact. His lips curled back as his mossy green eyes caught the familiar blue gaze of the gray beauty. At her touch and subordination to him, he relaxed, acknowledging quickly that she was no such threat, at least not to him. Ash administered his own affections upon the woman, allowing his mind a moment of peace as his brain processed what Nari had asked him. He pressed his nose into her neck, inhaling her intoxicating scent as it surrounded him fully. Taking a step away from her so they he could explain what he was faces was difficult, if he could, he would breath in her scent as much as he could and stay as close to her as possible. But he knew that as alphas of a pack, he could never do such a thing. They had duties to perform.

So with a deep sigh, he explained the situation darkly, "Now with Athena and Silver gone...things will be much harder this winter...and Rory...I am very...uhmm..protective and I know soon she will grow bored of my company and seek other companions." Other male companions is what Ash meant. And the Hervok did not want anyone taking his adoptive daughter, of many, away from him. Especially not after the last scares that had occurred. He waited for her response, wanting to know what her views were on the situation with Athena. Ash had wanted the white woman to talk to Nari about the situation. It was, after all, not his decision to make.

Narimé Lagina
Narime pressed into Ash relieved that her touch was calming to the beast. His own muzzle delved into her ruff sending a small chill down her spine. Though the touch reminded her of Sloane which caused the she wolf to grit her teeth. Purposefully inhaling Ash's scent to drive away the images of the Thorben male, Nari was somewhat saddened as the Hervok stepped away from her. She accepted the distance though knowing that he was very much a man of duty. He would want to get talking about business rather than settle for a moment to relax with her.

The topic Ash brought up was a topic Nari had been dreading. However, there was one bit of information she hadn't really known that brought a raging fire to her eyes. Silver went with her?! Her previously calm appearance turned south as yet another betrayal wracked through her heart and body. Narime had actually liked @Athena and had hoped that if anything were to happen to her that the white woman might take over and stand beside Ash. However, Nari knew that the white woman was hurting inside as well as outside. She knew that the Moon wolf would be tempted to leave. Nari didn't blame her for leaving, as much had happened during her stay and while Athena had been captured by her father.

However @Silver was another matter entirely. A full on betrayal that Narime could not forgive. She had thought of Silver as a long time friend and ally.

"Silver swore her loyalty and service to me. That lying bitch!"

Narime snarled taking a few steps back from Ash and pointing her lethal end away from him so as not to offend the male. It was not him that she was angry with this time. Her snarl turned to a low growl as Nari begins to pace in a tight line back and forth. Yes, Athena she forgave, for Rory's sake, but not Silver. Narime had completely avoided the whole worry that Ash had for Rory as the pup ages to adulthood. That wasn't the bulk of her problem right now.

However as Nari paced and thought over the words Ash had spoken, she forced herself to calm down. It was no use getting angry at someone who was someplace far away now. Besides she hadn't exactly answered Ash's concerns. Taking deep breaths to calm herself and ending her pacing, Nari glances to Ash with a deeply annoyed look still conveyed through her body.

"Rory.. She.. She's a strong girl. Even if she seeks the friendship of others I believe she has gained loyalty to this pack from you. She won't leave us."

Nari sat down still fuming over Silver's departure. She had wondered where the scout had gone for so long. Her tail twitches left and right conveying the anger that still held her body rigid.

Ash Hervok

His eyebrows creased in concern with Narimé's reaction. He had been sure that Athena would have at least told her alpha something and Ash felt himself falling into another pit of darkness as the guilt consumed him. They were partners, even if he had assumed that his former love would have told her something, he should have confronted her about it to. As he watched her rage, he felt a heavy pull on his heart as his mossy green gaze tracked her movements. He had remembered her as an innocent little daisy, just as Nina had described her and it seemed that ever since he had put his miserable existence into her life, she had been nothing but tormented and it seemed to be getting worse. Perhaps it was his fault, he had the temper of hell and he knew that it was dangerous to anyone who was in the area around him. Athena and Namara had both made that mistake more than once and the end result had been disastrous. He didn't want to do that the beautiful gray woman in front of him, but he knew that if he didn't remain, the pack would go up in shambles. He would never condemn her or their family to such a fate. He was a man of loyalty and he had sworn to help Whisper Caverns regain its former glory.

He almost didn't notice as she addressed his concerns and listened to what she had to say. It was obvious with her stance and the agitated flicking of her tail that her heart was not into what she had to say to him. He went to comfort her, his body easily going to her as he pressed his own affections upon her face, hoping that it would relieve some of the obvious tension that had built in her body. His next words were soft, a gentleness in them that he had never used with her before, "We will just be more strict about who we allow into our family...we are, after all, in this together, no?" He was hoping to calm her down to some degree, the sadness within him rising up like a tyrant. However, there was no sign of this emotion, except for a light bit of it reflecting in his cold eyes. Only those who knew him well would notice, but all that mattered to him then was making sure his....his....partner....was alright and to get the murderous rage from ever touching her beautiful pale eyes ever again.

Narimé Lagina
Narime stepped back once when Ash tried to comfort her. She moved her face away, but as he insisted she relented and allowed the touch. As if the heat of his fur were a magnet, Ash's presence seemed to suck the anger right out of her. She would feel cold and empty if he hadn't been right there sharing warmth with the silver she wolf. Very slowly, she eased into his warmth, trusting the burly male more than she ever really had.

What he said next surprised her. Though it was not the meaning of the words the had the woman turn to look at him warmly. It was his gentlenessthat had made the woman look upon him with a rather fond expression on her maw. She had only really seen this side of Ash with Rory, as most of the time when Nari and Ash were together something bad was happening. Even now something bad had happened, but he wasn't his usual stiff self.

"Yes, it's both of us together."

The unexpected warmth in the Hervok's voice brought a sigh to Nari's lips as she closed her eyes and calmed right down.

"Perhaps we should test newcomers, or make them take an oath of allegiance..."

She moved away from him for a moment, relishing the use of her long legs athat had been so stiff before. The she wolf opened her eyes and then walked a very slow circle to the right of Ash. She was letting go of her stresses, though normally the only way Nari could achieve this was by sprinting around the Lore. Running nonstop always had that kind of effect on her, and Nari found that she could think best while running.

This time it only took Ash's calm presence and a short circle of walking to calm her into simply not caring anymore. She wouldn't care about those who betrayed her until they were right there in front of her ready to face her sharp teeth.

Slipping back up beside Ash allowing her fur to mix with his, Nari opted to stop talking about stressful things. Instead she tried to distract herself from the world. Slowly she raised her head to nip at Ash's ear and playfully shoved at him. Her tail wagged to show that it was a game and not for real. Hopefully he wouldn't get angry with her for trying to start some fun.

Hope this is okay. PM me if you want to change something.

His words had the desired effect on her mind as her body relaxed into his. He felt his heart speed slightly at this new knowledge, letting him know how much his words meant to her. It was something different for him. Usually his words were met with something to contradict him and the fact that this woman would willingly comply with his words, almost made his heart stop. He nodded his head in agreement to her suggestion, a new term that would be much like how it was in Poison Path before the disbandment. He remembered his test quite clearly and had completed it in record timing. The thought of it brought a small ache in his heart as he remembered all those whom he had loved unconditionally and only received hurt in return. Narimé did well in distracting him from his thoughts as their fur intertwined. He watched her from the corner of his eyes and was shocked when she nudged him, knocking him slightly off balance.

A sly smile slipped past his lips as he arched an eyebrow up. He was quick to turn and shove her lightly to the ground, his lips curling against her ear, his voice playful, "That wasn't very smart of you, Lady Lagina. Do you know what I do to someone when I feel threatened?" He growled playfully, his teeth nipping her ear lightly, his laugh echoing softly in her ear. He figured that the pair might as well have some fun while they were together. Normally when they were near one another something horrible was happening and they would need to discuss business matters. Most of the time, it put them in a mood where neither of him would want to spend time with one another after, or one was irritated with the other. However, Ash firmly believed that his little beauty deserved some happiness, something he hadn't seen her have much of since her return the year before.

Narimé Lagina
Narime expected him to retaliate, but she did not expect the gentleness of his push against her. She thought, if he were to start playing with her, that it would be rough and tumble. She and Sloane had often wrestled with each other using their weight to try and knock each other around even if their jaws and teeth were gentle. So Ash's soft shove was nothing to the stamina filled she wolf. If he was going to play like that she would long be able to outlast him. Bracing herself against his immense weight, Nari pushed back not allowing herself to fall to the dirt. Then she smiled wickedly as Ash messed with her ear.

"You call that a shove, maybe I should look for a stronger male to take your place."

She scoffed with a mad smile and a strong wag of her tail. Her words were all in good fun, meant to pressure the Hervok into getting down and dirty with her. Nari craved the chance to play and really wrestle with someone. Nobody in the pack seemed playful enough for her to invite them to play, and Nari didn't want to bother someone who didn't want to. This is why she was glad that Ash was willing to go along with it.

Not so gently, Narime shoved back and tried wrapping her leg around his to try and trip the Hervok. The movement was very much like the kind of tripping move she would use on prey while chasing them.

He had meant to be lighthearted about his play never wanting to hurt a woman unless it actually called for it. But Nari seemed to want their play to be much rougher, causing Ash's heart beat to speed up considerably. However, he words were what made a bit of anger creep into Ash's veins, his jaw clenching considerably as he stared at, his gaze unrelenting. It was why when she shoved him forcefully, he only moved slightly, his slanted eyes narrowed even further. Since he was able to walk he had been trained by the most elite in the ways of a Guardian, it was why Nari's little trick didn't faze him and why he didn't think about the repercussions of using all of his muscles to slam his bulky body into hers, his mossy green eyes hooded as he glowered over her, his dark lip curled back in disdain.

He never enjoyed it when others talked about his position, especially when it came to taking it away. It hit a nerve in him that should not have been tampered with. Last time he had given up his position willingly to make another happy, it had all ended in disaster. The bastard had left his partner wailing in pain and alone, had it not been for him, during her birthing period. The Hervok vowed to never let that happen again but here was Nari...joking about it. But even that felt like too much for the male. He spoke in a deep voice, nonthreatening, but dark, "You and I both know I would never allow that to happen." Especially with Aurora with us. The words were unspoken but he was sure that she knew...and hoped that she could also tell that he was no longer playing with her. Hopefully, his actions hadn't caused her any harm but he was in no state to think on the matter as he stood their silently, his dark mood returning to dampen his mind.
