puppies are leaving the tree! :) i'd imagine theo/arlette are in this if they want. all the GH puppies can post, as well as the pack to meet them. bit of powerplay hope that doesn't bother you guys.

The weeks had went by fast. Her children had opened their blue-gray eyes, and now knew the sound of her voice. They were catching on about names, as they were already so bright, and inquisitive despite not being able to voice much of their soon to be questions. And so when the three week mark hit, and when they much stronger, the new mother knew it was time to lead them beyond the safety of the hollow tree, and to the outside world. It was there the pack would meet them for the first time.

A fond smile lingered, as her eyes met her children's. "Today we're going to go outside, you ready?" she asked. The question was met with eager faces, and wiggly tails. The pale wolf chuckled, and slowly slithered from her refuge careful of where she placed her paws. Momentarily she stretched her long cramped muscles, than lowered her head to the entrance. "Come on children," she said with white tail wagging happily behind her, her mismatched eyes lovingly upon her children, coaxing them out of the temporary den.


Deciding an annoucement was in order she took a step back, and lifted her mouth to the sky. Her black lips formed, and she let out a joyous note. It was time Grizzly Hollow met the next generation. Fading, she let out an eager bark to her offspring, her tail waggy happily at her hocks as she watched them greet the bright sunshine one by one.

man, this is so awkward, since this situation is still so whatever. WHATEVER. POSTING ANYWAY :D going to assume he thinks Jayse is his mom and they're all his brothers and whatever GO WiTH IT. xD

Outside. Shivers rippled through his tiny body, so wild and strong that he could not control or contain them. His small body wiggled and teetered as the excitement fluttered through his body. Outside, outside, outside. He could just pee himself, the anticipation was killing him. Mommy didn't like him being outside, but he had seen it out of the mouth of the den. And he had dreams about it, although, his dreams were of strange things that he didn't understand. Like massive shapes and lots and lots of clearish blue milk that went through lots of grass. And that was nothing like the tall brown things that he saw from outside of the den. It didn't really make sense, but perhaps they were just dreams.

"Outsiiiiiiideee," he whined impatiently as he gazed up at the cuddly, giant mass that smelled good, smelled like food and warmth. Apparently her name was mommy. He was cool with that, but Cuddly sounded better. The other fluffy bundles that looked like him, his brothers and sisters, were also awake. But who cared? "OUTSIDE OUTSIDE OUTSIDE!" he yipped in an obnoxiously shrill voice. The cuddly mommy was moving about now, stretching, taking her sweet time, but Theo didn't intend on waiting. "OUT SIDE!" He lunged upwards, and scrabbled out of his den, running between the cuddly's legs as she stretched.

A deluge of light and sound and smells flooded his senses. It was too much. Outside was really bright. And loud. And smelly. There were harsh, screeching sounds coming from way up high, and dusty old scents wafting up from the ground, and always there was this blazing overhead glare that made it difficult for him to see. Unable to see where he as going, he promptly bumped into Cuddly and fell back on his gray rump. "OUTSIDE!" Because this was nothing like the outside in his dreams. It was darker, harder, grey. Perhaps this was not the real outside and Cuddly would be taking them there.

The notion of being outside wasn't quite so exciting to the small Trisden, who eyed her mother and the enthusiastic Theo with childish trepidation. It was warm and safe in here, and she always hated it when her mother left. There was some comfort to be found in the notion that, this time, they could go with her - but that didn't mean she had to like it.

She was ready, though, and couldn't deny that some part of her was incredibly curious. Theo's excitement was contagious. As she only half-feigned eagerness, her short tail wagging away like the rest of her siblings, little Trisden was actually the second to exit the only home they had only known, but only because she hugged her mother's foreleg the entire way. The wondrous spectacle of outside was almost enough to validate all her doubts, scary and huge and different as it all was, but then she pressed tighter into her mother, felt heat and smelt security, and immediately knew that everything would be okay.

Her tiny ears flattened at her mother's howl, but only for a moment; there was happiness in the sound, and it caused a bubble of excitement to grow in her chest. Watching Theo clumsily bump into their mother, Trisden giggled, and the bubble overtook her concerns long enough for the small pup to bounce forwards and bob her brother on the nose for his foolishness.

Outside! It was only now that she was here that she realised its true defining factor: space. Suddenly with courage abounds, she bounded off a few feet, already in awe of the freedom.

With neither the excitement of Theo, nor the fledgling cynicism of his sister Trisden, merely a curiosity as yet unformed by experience, Hocus did not immediately react to his mother‘s call. Prosper’s need to explore the outside hadn’t rubbed off and Hocus was patient, as far as a pup could be, trusting his mother when she said they couldn’t explore. The den was interesting enough anyway, with company as diverse, and uncivilised, as a pup could wish for, provided they weren’t trying to sleep thank you very much. Hocus didn’t expect much from the outside anyway, bar a slightly larger version of the den. Although maybe the larger den would be just as crowded with as many pups? Oh he’d never get time to sleep! Well if Trisden was interested in the outside then he probably should be as well…

Hocus lumbered to his feet, sleep still screaming at him that it wasn’t done revitalising him. As the other pups bounded out of the hollow, their brother gently, if a little excitedly, stumbled up the dirt. His eyes were still not fully open, finding the dim light of the den painful, and were overwhelmed by what they saw. It was a brightness so searing that Hocus barely managed the last few steps before he had to stop. All his senses were being assaulted by this ‘outside’. The smell of summer was overpowering and the coup de grace was given by his mother’s howl. Hocus felt no need to reciprocate, and if it hadn’t been unmistakeably her he would have bolted back to the den. At least his vision had recovered enough to tell him where the den was. The chorus of siblings hardly helped the matter, although Trisden’s absence was noticeable. He scanned about and saw her bounding off. Feeling protective of her, he was sure she must feel as assailed as he, he scurried over, battling the urge he had to just go back to bed.

Theo's voice chirped behind her, clearly wanting out into the new world. She chuckled at his enthusiasim, and made sure to give him a clear path. In his eagerness he ran into her, and fell down. Outside! He exclaimed once more. A smile curved her along her pale cheek, as she looked to the white youngling. "This is outisde Theo, your eyes will adjust," she said, lowering her snout, and gently trying to nudge him back to his feet. Jaysyek felt the tiny form of Trisden upon her foreleg, and was careful not to tossle her. She knew this would be very different for the puppies, and was sure they were overwhelmed by this outside. Everything was new, the sounds, smell, and sight. The ash stroked wolf was excited for them to finally meet the world, and hoped her mate would be along soon. She already she felt a little overwhelmed having five little ones to look out for, and now in the open space. And well if Kiche showed up, she would like another to balance out the company.

Mismatched eyes looked around for her other children, Prosper was right there trying to copy her howl as well as Arlette. She muffled a soft laugh at Prosper's bold try, and soon she felt Trisden leave her scrambling after Theo. The new mother smiled glad to see her daugter's temporary hesitation was gone, and watched as Prosper chased after the pair. Proudly she cast her eyes to Arlette, and grinned. "That was very good," she said, a couple wags of her white tail. It might not have been the most lovely sound, but to her it was. Already they were growing, learning. She did not fret over the facts, casually she looked back for her other white coated child, wondering what might be keeping him. Hocus appeared to be adjusting to the brightness, but he soon found Trisden.

Making sure they were all in view, her nostrils scented the air, but nothing had changed. There was no sign of trouble, and she would try not let her nerves, or fears get the bset of her. All the children were in her sight, it was there time to play, and get to know there was much to this world. She though three years old still remembered the first time she had gone outside, and hoped that perhaps it might be the same for them. Besides they were all getting rather big for the hollow tree, and she almost felt ready to take them to the pack den so they wouldn't be squished in the coming weeks. The warm light of the sun, and cool shift of breeze she watched each one of them best she could. "Please stay where you can see momma, okay?" she said in a gentle, yet firm tone hoping that least today they would not wander to far. "You might meet some of the pack, or see daddy," she added, thinking that might do the trick to keep them near. She was sure they understood what the pack was, the wolves who brought food by from time to time.

The happy sounds of youthful yipping following Jaysyek's howl made Borden smile with not just with his black-lined lips but with his heart as well as his soul. Wanting to observe for a while before he emerged onto the scene, he crept up behind a cedar tree to catch sight of five bumbling puppies as they clambered after Jaysyek and each other. He chuckled silently to himself and took a step to stride into view; however, the sight of another white wolf caught his eye. Vlarindara... Oh, good. His tail wagged; hopefully seeing her would ease his beloved's worries over her long, sudden absence.

He waited a while longer as he overheard Vlarindara compliment Jayse about how well she had brought up the puppies. Not wanting to intrude or butt in on their conversation, Borden quietly crept into view, respectfully stopping meters away from the two and the group of puppies. He sat down, still smiling as he watched the little ones play. Needless concerns over the two white puppies who had become apart of his little family had completely faded away by now and he had fully come to terms about where they had come from and how they came into Cedarwood. It seemed it was unmistakable now... especially with how Prosper and Theo hastily followed one another out of the den... Little Borden and little Alexander... first-borns... both eager, confident, and of course, ready to take on the world.
