RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Merys - Apr 05, 2016

[dohtml]

Merys raised his muzzle from the cold spring, letting excess drip down his chest and back into the water. Why did everything have to be so.. relaxing here? It made it much harder to hold a grudge toward it all. Although, he was unsure why he was fighting to keep a negative outlook in his new home. Ugh, he hated even thinking of it like that. You were the one who left, Merys. You went LOOKING for this. Now that you've found it, because it's not perfect, we hate it? He didn't know what he was waiting for, or expecting to make a difference, but it hadn't happened yet, and for that reason, he let the feelings linger. Eventually, it would have to rub off on him. Otherwise, this was an effort not worth giving.

He turned northwest of the spring, taking his last leg towards the White Fir Notch den. He admittedly allowed a happy sigh to escape his nostrils as the familiar fir, spruce, and lots of strong .. female scents. He had had lots to think he was unlucky for the past few months of his life, but there truly was something about coming back to this giant den that was beginning to grow on him. He slowed his trot to a walk and weaved between a few fir trees before finding the opening to the tunnel that led inside the dark den. He had never been one to come into his old pack den too often, preferring to sleep further away where the quiet and undisturbed sleeping places were found. He knew, however, that making an appearance in these parts was important. He had to start making some ties, and so he pushed forward slowly until the tunnel widened and he felt the familiar dirt and gravel beneath his paws.

RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Sylva - Apr 11, 2016

((*waves at Meyrs* ! been meaning to reply to this!))

[dohtml]

A gentle hum escaped the small chocolate black yearling as she stepped alongside a semi well worn trail through the trees. A habitual  murmur of apology escaping the healer in training as grasping tendrils of the brush pulled and tugged at her soft pelt as she passed by. A soft sigh made it's way out of Sylva’s lungs as she trotted. She was happy, that was the simplest way to put things. She had found a good pack, a home, a family and now a purpose in life. Her thoughts drifted toward @Moraxia and her healing wound as the familiar firs came into view. “Let’s see, keep the wound clean, fetch her some water, prey...what did she like?” She asked out loud, er brown gaze drifting toward a nearby fir tree , as though for a moment she expected a reply.

A few seconds passed and the young wolf shrugged it aside Guess we can ask her later. She mused as the comforting scents of her pack mates drifted along the breeze and Sylva’s tail wagged happily as she picked up the pace. SOon, she caught the fresher scent of @Merys and a small grin formed on the girl’s maw. Hm..hadn’t really got to speak with him much...gotta change that.. She followed the scent into the communal den and gave a small yip of greeting as she found herself facing the brown furred male “Hey! How are you doing?” She inquired as she settled down onto the soft gravel, her head tilted a little to the side in curiosity of the well being of her packmate.

RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Merys - Apr 11, 2016

@Sylva is so cute. ^_^ I love their relationship already.

[dohtml]

Strangely enough, the effort that Merys had put into going forth with socializing went unrewarded. Once he stepped in the den, apart from the familiar thick scent of the other Notch wolves, he knew that he was alone. He did not appreciate his effort going unappreciated, but part of him did see the chance to escape and go off to find something to eat instead. Maybe he could come back with the extras, gain some brownie points since this plan had fallen through. He paused to look around the inside of the dark den. The dulled outside sound was comforting, it felt quite safe. If anything, they had picked a good place for this, he could admit that. "Well, my job here is done," he muttered to himself as he turned towards the door. He rubbed his body against the opening so they would know that he had at least shown up. They had just missed him, right? Crisis averted.

He was content with how this had played out, and was just beginning to lower his head through the tunnel that lead outside when he heard the rustling of someone arriving. Blast! He hardly had enough time to sigh his acceptance before he had to step back when the black yearling burst through the opening. Ah yes, the one with the energy. The least namby-pamby wolf of the pack, he was sure. She yipped her greeting and moved to sit down. "Heyyyy," he drew the greeting out, his voice low, trailing off as he looked around, moving around her slightly with a smile and motioning to the exit. "Sylva, right? Yes, I’m doing well, thanks. I was just heading out actually," he did not want to seem rushed, but he also had only narrowly missed his opportunity to leave. He paused longer, grieving his loss of freedom to slow the encounter down, knowing that her company was important to have even for a few moments. "How is uh.. Moraxia, how is she doing?" his voice was low and smooth, consciously erasing any rush from it.

((*waves at Meyrs* ! bene meaning to reply to this!))

test test test lots of text allalala

Sylva’s head tilted as little to the side as her packmate gave a very drawn out response of ‘hey’. Her head followed the brown male as he slipped by her, gesturing toward the the entrance of the den before asking about her name. Sylva opened her maw to respond when @Merys comment that he had just been about to leave, and that was quickly followed up with an inquiry about their injured pack mate.

She paused, she wasn’t sure how to respond, he seemed like he was in a hurry to get out, was he trying to be subtle about it and offer her a way to let him get away? Sylva wasn’t sure, but she hadn’t really put much thought into it, instead, she perked up at the mention of @Moraxia and she nodded slowly “She’s doing alright, should be recovering very well, but Merys I have a question for you.

Sylva stood slowly within the tight confines of the den, her tail wagging gently behind her as she posed her totally tactful question “Are you in a rush to get away? Were you trying to subtly imply that you wanted to escape the tight confines of the den?” She titled her head a little to the side as she waited, her soft hazel eyes watching the male intently as she waited, deep inside, Sylva was a little worried that he may have been trying to get away from her

RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Merys - Apr 13, 2016

[dohtml]
While he was certain that he would have had better luck with his nonverbal communication with.. any other wolf, Sylva proved to not be that type of company. She was more than capable of calling the situation for what it was. That was fine; honesty was not a quality to be skirted around. It just happened to be inconvenient for the four year old at this current moment in time. There was a slim glimmer of hope when the yearling began with the only information he had asked her for, but with what he could only describe as verbal diarrhea, she expanded the conversation without pause. He momentarily paused and wondered if he should back track for the female's feelings, which seemed potentially at risk, or if she could benefit from a bit of tough love.

He inhaled slowly, biding some time for some final decisions before he exhaled deeply and said, "I mean, not rushing, but yes, definitely leaving." There. That was a bit of both worlds, right? He eyed the yearling, cautious in his actions all of a sudden. Young ones were tough.. so impressionable. You had to find the right balance so they grew strong, but not bitter. Merys was not the avuncular type, but he had more forgiveness for the young and naive. He thought to add, "Thought I might go find something tasty, what do you think?" he asked, his tone lighter now. Not inviting, but less preoccupied.

RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Sylva - Apr 15, 2016

It was quite true that any other wolf may have picked up on the subtle signals that Merys was almost blaring with his body language, but for Sylva, she was still learning that sometimes there was more than one meaning to the same motion. She hadn’t picked up on the hesitation in the brown male’s tone. IF your going to leave...wouldn’t it be easier to just say so….? Why say you're not rushing if that isn’t your plan….. Hazel brown eyes stared intently at Merys as Sylva looked him over carefully.

“I’m...not sure what to make of your weird actions...but I mean, if you want to hunt or something, all you have to do is ask….I’ll come if you’d like me to….” She wasn’t sure what to think. Was Merys trying to subtly ask if she wanted to accompany him? Is that why he asked for her thoughts on the subject? I mean...why else would he? Right?

Sylva paused for a moment as she debated it, she truly wasn’t sure what to think, but in the end it came down to the fact that Merys was her packmate, and she did care about his well being, even if he was very odd in the way he asked. She’d worry about that later, for now a small shiver of excitement swept through the yearling, she’d get to actively contribute to the pack, and she’d be able to do it with friends. Her gaze turned toward the larger male in expectation as she awaited what he’d have to say on her accepting his invitation to hunt with him,

RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Merys - Apr 17, 2016

Merys leaves the Pack Thread with @Sylva after this post.

[dohtml]
Wait. Did he mean to say what he said? The moment his last words fell from Merys' face, he had second thoughts to their potential interpretation. He held his breath for a moment, momentarily creeped out by the yearling's intense stare at him. God, kids were so weird these days. Why did she have to watch him like that? At what point did wolves learn what was socially acceptable? Sylva, perhaps, might have been a little bit behind the curve, if there was one. Especially at the way she answered him next.

"All you have to do is ask... I'll come if you want me to."

No. No, wait, no. Had she just invited herself? ... Had he invited her? How did this turn into a we project? No. Crap. He was speechless for a moment, attempting to the prevent the somaticize of his worry, capable of only blinking at her. Could he get himself out of this? Not without offending the young female, he was sure. His expression had frozen in thought as he looked at her and quickly darted around his mind for other options. It did not look promising in there. Returning to the conversation after those few seconds, his eyes turned to the ground as unfortunate acceptance washed over him and he let out a large breath. His nod was small but clear, and he inhaled quickly a "Yep," partly to Sylva, and partly to himself (yes, this was going to have to happen). He turned finally to his original destination and moved to leave the den, confident that the yearling would be at his heels.

RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Raela - Nov 14, 2016

[dohtml]

It had gotten so cold over the last few weeks. Already she missed the cool, neutral temperatures of days past. The beautiful leaves she so loved seeing every year had nearly all fallen, leaving the bare, grey trees to face winter naked. It was the opposite of what the pack had done. Their coats grew in fuller, denser against the coming chill. There had been a few days in that transition that she had shivered through, but it wasn't that bad, and those days had made her body that much swifter in its change. The Alphess was somewhat comfortable again, even in the now freezing air.

She sauntered up to the clearing beside their den, ears and eyes pricked to catch any sign of her kids, now sporting their own thick coats. She hoped they were all warm too. For now though, there were no other souls to be seen. Water vapor puffed from her nostrils as she entered the great bear den, turning about in the entrance and settling down off to the side, her legs collected neatly beneath her. Perhaps someone would arrive soon, if not, she would simply be glad to take this little break and enjoy the momentary quiet.

RE: White Fir Notch Pack Thread - Ambrosia - Feb 28, 2017

Though he wasn’t fond of bad weather on a good day, Ambrosia stared out at the overcast sky and wondered if the weather had decided to match his grey mood. The scarred man wasn’t sure if it was him coming down with some sort of illness or just that he was feeling a little under the weather. But either way, curled up in the main den, he rested his head between his paws and hoped no one would come in, because he honestly was not feeling up to interactions at the moment.

Though he couldn't stop anyone from coming in, because it was the main den after all. But not only had Ambrosia slept there that night but he was forcing himself to get to know his other pack mates, since he didn’t really know anyone yet. Suddenly, a loud sneeze erupted from his nose, shaking him awake from the half sleep he had settled in. please don’t let that mean a cold, he thought to himself. He was half joking before about coming down with something. Covering his nose up to keep it warm, he scrunched his nose up when it felt like there was another one coming along.
