Torn - Jessie - Jan 10, 2017

For @Gent and @Raela but open to other WFN members as well. Backdated to around December 30th. Scouting dem 1/3

[dohtml]

For a few days she collected her thoughts and stayed on her own, relishing in the fact that she was alone again. Jessie hunted for herself and did not have to worry about the others. She knew that it was the reason she was outside of the borders though and moved along. White Fir Notch was less than a day's travel from her home but decided to stop at Secret Woodlands first. It was not ideal but she knew that she was also saving herself some stress for when she had to travel up the mountain. Jessie did not want to delay this meeting any longer, though. She did not know these wolves and would much rather spend her time with some others that she did know, but those would be coming later on during her trip. Her small body pushed on, the scent of her pack already fading from her fur. She had taken a few days to prepare herself, she would not have another repeat of what happened with Morganna and Craw.

The scent of the Notch grew stronger and Jessie was relieved to know that she would not have to wait too much longer for anything to happen. The sooner she got news, the better. The Tainn did not know how this was going to go but from what she understood, the couple was nice enough. But if Jessie wanted to get through this, she should focus most of her time on the female alpha, not that this news surprised her.  The Bend had been different but when Corinna was alive things had been different.

Jessie approached the border but made sure that she stayed a comfortable distance away, her emerald eyes evaluating the area. Copper Rock Creek had once settled around this area back when Ruiko was alive. It was one of her first scouting trips, Hotei her partner. Snorting softly, she shook such thoughts from her mind, not wanting her former love to be the center of her thoughts during such a crucial time. Taking a deep breath, the alpha of Wild Rye Fields respectfully called for the presence of Gent and Raela. Luckily, these neighbors were not nearly as unfriendly as the ones they had to the north.

RE: Torn - Gent - Jan 19, 2017

Curious, Gent thought, as his ears lifted to take in the summons carried on an unfamiliar voice. Smooth and feminine, but the situation as a whole reminded him of @Craw's visit not too long ago. Black Thorn Downs and Round Stone Crest both rarely had such visits, but he supposed that White Fir Notch was in quite a different situation. Their neighbors were nearer, and yet did not have cause to avoid them as Secret Woodlands had done to the bramble dwelling pack that felt like a whole other lifetime ago. Rising, he stretched his legs before sending up a quieter, shorter howl meant only to reach his immediate surroundings. Intended for @Raela, it informed her that he was heading out, and would meet her there if not on the way.

Unlike the visitation of Whitestone Monadnock's alpha, the king was not beaten to the punch by half his pack. In fact, he was noticeably alone as he maneuvered through the forest to meet the unfamiliar woman at his door. As he drew within sight, her scent filled his lungs and he was able to confirm that she hailed from the Fields pack. Good, he had something to clear up with them.

She was regarded with solemnity, for there was nothing to indicate what tone this meeting would take, but that wasn't to say he was mistrustful. As was necessary, he was ready and willing to give the benefit of the doubt, because doing the opposite, despite the whispers at the back of his mind, would only ensure a schism.

"Hello."

anyone is welcome to join in. <3

RE: Torn - Ryker - Jan 20, 2017

The howl the echoed within the white fir trees didn't go unnoticed by a certain blue eyed child and his ears flicked up in curiosity, distracting him from the ice he was trying to break but was failing to do so. It was a small creek he liked to come to on occasion, when he was patrolling but was finding more and more that small creeks and other waterways were freezing over in this cold weather.

But it wasn't so important, since he had gulped a few mouth fulls of snows before hand to quench his thirst. The howl was much more interesting. It was calling for his parents and he heard his father's shorter, more focused call towards his mother to let her know he was already on his way and that she would either meet him there or they'd meet up on the way. But Ryker held a small hope that they wouldn't mind if he at least observed from the sidelines, to see how to interact properly with those who came to their borders.

It had already been something of a lesson taught, if his sisters and himself ever made it to the borders before their parents or other pack mates. But Ryker was intrigued to see it in action still. So not long after @Gent had came across their visitor and said his single worded greeting did Ryker arrive and politely gave out a small "Hello there!" Of his own, his tail wagging behind him in a happy manner. This was his first proper border greet, even if all he was going to do was watch. His shoulder brushed his father's briefly, to let him know he was standing by his right side, though unless asked to, he would stay silent from now on.

RE: Torn - Emrys - Jan 20, 2017

Guardian Dem 1/3

[dohtml]

The unfamiliar voice brought his ears forward as he move through the trees stepping carefully through the snow. Someone at their borders which piqued the white healers interest though the call had been for his alphas Emrys felt compelled to meet the newcomer. He also felt it was his job to greet their visitors until Gent or Raela were able to make their appearance. Though his distance from the border than the last few times he'd greeted their visitors he still felt he needed to go.

Not wasting any time he loped the best he could through the snow in the direction of the border. As he came nearer threescents were detected on the air, Gent’s, Rykers and an unknown female. Their scents became stronger the closer he came to the border and though it was faint he could still smell the markers of a pack. It was the same markers that Askan had carried on his coat. His pace quickened some as he was more curious about what this visit was for.

When the three figures came into view Emrys slowed his pace so as to not frighten the woman that had come to their borders. Nearing leaving the safety of the trees Emrys came up on Gents left side. Stopping at the dark man's left flank he kept his head lowered out of respect for the alpha’s position though offered a low chuff in greeting to the wolves present. He then waited until it was time for him to be acknowledged.

RE: Torn - Lucia - Jan 20, 2017

Lucia wanted to see who was knocking as well. While she valued learning and doing adult things as much as Ryker did (if not more, for her insecurity about her size often had her trying to overcompensate), none of that was really in her direct line of thinking. She just wanted to be where the action was, and new wolves always seemed to bring excitement. So she picked up her paws and plodded through the snow as quickly as she could manage to make her way to where the others were beginning to converge.

When she arrived, a deep breath told her this wolf was from the pack just north of them. She'd gotten plenty of whiffs of them when her father had taken her with him to the lowlands, and she remembered what had been said about them, from discussions between her parents to the comments made when that @Craw guy had visited. All of it was locked away, and now she was gonna get her first chance at forming her own opinion.

Gold eyes alight with interest, she watched the foreign woman intently as she sidled up to Ryker's side, bumping her brother with her shoulder in greeting before settling in heavily against his side.

RE: Torn - Jynx - Jan 21, 2017

[dohtml]

While not a common occurrence, visitors to the Notch were always a subject of interest. She had not been present for the visit from Craw, whom she had met briefly, closer to his own home ground in the tundra. The russet tinted woman had been too far away to respond to the call, her attention set on hunting instead. But today was a different story, when an unfamiliar voice pleasantly rang out, requesting an audience with the alphas. Drawing her head up into a more natural position, she abandoned the set of paw prints from a rabbit. There would be plenty of other times to track down a meal later.

Her knowledge of either of the Rye wolves, or their Monadock neighbors was limited. Her meetings of them even more so, if only because she had been spending the majority of her time as of late, inside the pack borders. It was for her own good, while she was still on the mend. Even so, that hadn't stopped her from doing her best to be productive as a hunter. And speaking of hunting... She also was aware of the arrangement between the Notch and the two packs, in that the Lowlands would be shared, so all could have access to the herds. Such an agreement was one the huntress was content with, and would have pursued herself. In order for all parties to benefit and not starve, compromise had to be involved. Had the two Northern packs been less willing to negotiate however, the emboldened she wolf would have had no qualms taking what they needed, to ensure their own survival.

The replying howl of Gent alerted her, and she knew he would be at the borders to greet their guest before anyone else. Taking the quickest path she knew through the snow, she followed his scent, along with that of several others. The boughs of the infamous Fir trees known in their territory swayed with a gentle breeze, their pine needles brushing along and through her thick winter coat, as she navigated her way closer, un-hurriedly. Jynx had grown accustomed to her role as the female second in the pack, and in holding such a rank, she felt it was a part of her job to be on hand to welcome any guests. Or chase off any troublemakers. Her vision soon was filled with five distinct figures, four of which she was intimately familiar with. Her partner in rank, Emrys was there, along with Ryker and Lucia, close to their father. She paused, hanging back only for a breath, the vivid evergreen color the trees doing little to hide her more summery hues. The visitor she noted, was un-recognizable by sight, dorned in silver and white tones, but not in scent. However faint, the mark of the Rye Fields was still there. Stepping forward, she rumbled a low, affectionate greeting to her kin, keeping her head just a few inches lower than that of her commanders. Not that it was a hard thing to do, given their vast difference in height. She spoke not a word, content to wait for her cue.

RE: Torn - Nascha - Jan 21, 2017

[dohtml]

At this point, it really should not have surprised any of them that Nascha liked to do her own thing. She wasn’t very social, merely did her job and went about her day like the others did not exist. It wasn’t entirely intention, but she also wasn’t a huge fan of actually socializing and getting to know wolves unless it benefited her more than she thought it might benefit them. She had yet to see a reason to reach out to anyone apart from Gent and Raela… well, them and Lucia who reminded her of herself when she’d been younger – stubborn to a fault and refusing to take advice from others. Then again, Nascha would never say she outgrew that phase.

She’d been working to mark the borders when she first caught the scents – quite a few of them, heavy as the monochromatic girl watched with interest, making her way towards the group. By the mercy of Glaux, do these wolves do everything together? They were all gathered, silently might she add, behind Gent. Her tail lowered respectfully – as a potential Guardian, she found her interests in the situation, along with the monochromatic woman to match her own appearance. She swore it was like seeing a ghost… well, or maybe a sister… but even that she doubted given the goody-two-shoes nature of her very annoying sister who would never leave their home.

Besides, there were differences between the two, even if their eyes were of similar shades and their coats of similar sooty tones. Her interest was in what this woman wanted, and if she’d have to look out for her causing trouble in the future, and that was all. She gave her a once-over, evidently analyzing her for whatever she might be able to find... weaknesses Nascha might be able to use in the future.

RE: Torn - Jessie - Feb 09, 2017

Scouting dem 2/3

[dohtml]

The alpha, at least that is who she assumed he was, arrived first. He spoke a greeting to her and Jessie dipped her head in respect to him. She was on his borders, after all. A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips but as she made to reply she was interrupted by a child. Jade eyes turned towards the pup that stood next to the large man's side. For a moment, the woman's eyes softened, remembering Percy and the fact that she did have something to go home to. When she spoke, her voice was calm, "Hello, there." Other members of the pack arrived soon after that. One by one they trickled in and Jessie made mental notes of their appearance. No names were offered and she did not give her own until it would seem that no others would arrive. The trickle of pack wolves finally seemed to stop with a younger girl that looked uncannily like her. The only difference probably being their significant difference in age. However, those that arrived after the dark male were not why she had come. It was clear by their stance that they were all below him and he was the one that she had come to speak with. It did not mean, however, that she would be rude to all of them.

The woman did a sweep of those gathered before landing on the large dark male that initially greeted her. Guess I won't be sitting down for this one. The woman's lips parted so that she could begin, "Hello, to all of you." She began doing another sweep and nodding in both directions before continuing, "I am Jessie Tainn and the female lead of Wild Rye Fields. I'm doing a scouting trip around the lore and thought that I would stop by to talk to you about a few things. I heard that you stopped by some time ago. My apologizes for not being in attendance." The woman's gray tail swayed neutrally behind her. She did not want to cause any trouble here, especially with so many of them. Just inform and do her best to form some kind of acquaintanceship with pack.

RE: Torn - Gent - Feb 27, 2017

i am the worst, so sorry everyone
lightning would like this thread to go quick, so we've decided that there will be no posting order or rounds; gent and jessie are gonna keep going back and forth, and we won't be waiting for others to post. after jessie leaves, if anyone still needs their three posts, gent will keep going until everyone is satisfied. <3 hope this is okay with everyone, pm me if you need anything.

Ryker's appearance was met with an affectionate couple of licks to his crown by his father, the man's pale eyes still fixed on their guest. Emrys was swift to approach as well, as was his daughter who was given the same greeting as her brother had, Gent's long neck easily stretching the distance over the other pup to reach her. Jynx and Nascha joined them as well, and the alpha was happy for this strong presence and careful attention to their borders. If his gaze swept across any of them, his pleasure would be clear within his eyes.

The woman's polite introduction was committed to memory, but nothing about her or the name was familiar excepting, of course, the name of her pack. He was pretty certain this was the same woman that had been scented from the start with Drestig, which was a bit curious. She didn't much look like him, so the mate theory seemed more certain than the family one.

Gent's ears lifted as she mentioned having a few things to address, recalling again Emrys' transmission of what the Fields subordinate Askan had spoken to him about. The alpha glanced to his second briefly before focusing on the emerald eyed woman again.

"Not a problem," he assured her, tone calm but not yet overly welcoming. "It had gone smoothly all the same."

Or so he had thought.

"What is it you'd like to discuss?"
