She had...accidentally found some sweet cicely and taken it. With the time it had taken for the effects to kick in, she had drifted into a haunting place. Fog danced around her small form and shrouded her in mystery. It fit her current state of mind. Dazed and mellowed. She was content to hide out here until the side effects wore off. Granted she also knew it would be a waste to go through this mellow mood all alone.

A soft purr-growl escaped her, directed at no one in particular. It was a shame she hadn't kept the company of the boy in the North. He had so much potential. She could have easily kept him in her grasp had she not grown so lazy and bored. Her small form leaned against one of the many trees here while she contemplated everything.

Without warning, a soft humming tune began to escape from her. No doubt a siren's song to lure someone into her company.

He heard the humming before he saw the female. It sounded so familiar, light and airy in the otherwise dark atmosphere. At first he thought he was making it up, that it was all in his head. It grew louder though the more he followed it though, eliminating any doubts. Who was it? He saw the green eyes before anything else, glowing in the darkness. Circe.




He hadn’t expected to ever bump into her again. Her petite frame was familiar, the silver of her coat. He watched for a few seconds, hidden behind the fog. She was beautiful. One of the prettier wolves he had met in the lore. He was tempted to stay hidden longer, to just watch her leaned up against the tree. He didn’t want to break her out of the trance, she seemed so much lighter this way- free of burden. He was selfish though. He wanted her to notice him too, to share in the exchange. “You all alone out here?”

“You all alone out here?”

Her hums ceased and her green gaze sought out the voice that had questioned her status. It was a familiar form that she spotted in all of the fog. His slightly bigger frame, unique marks. She chuckled softly, her head even rolling some. How did he do that? Had she been too dazed to see him coming? Had he crawled right out of her thoughts? Absurd. Although she still liked to think that someone -- even if it wasn't him -- was capable of such a thing.

"You're here, aren't you?" She questioned back with a rather lively twinkle in her glossy green eyes. Maybe she wasn't all there but she was still there enough to play back. "Unless you're a ghost..." She trailed off before her small frame moved to get a bit closer to him. "Don't tell me if you are though." Her words were a mere soft breath as she halted a few feet away with a smirk on her face.

That had been sweet cicely, right?

It didn’t take long for Vaken to decide he liked her better like this. He wasn’t sure what it was exactly that was off about her behaviour, maybe sleep-deprived, maybe just happy to see him? It didn’t matter the reason, only that her voice was drawing him in. She seemed to be floating where she stood. He stepped out of the fog slowly, his head low. A smile played at the corners of his mouth when she moved towards him, matching her green eyes with his golden ones. “Alright,” he purred, his eyes narrowed skeptically. “I won’t tell you.”

If she didn’t want to know, that was fine by him. He didn’t feel like a ghost, but he would be if that’s what she wanted. He’d play along. “What do you want me to tell you?”

Even as he unfolded from the fog she was unsure if he was still real or not. Maybe she was asleep, dreaming of it all. This place did seem rather...whimsical after all. A place that a creature like herself would dream of and call heaven. She moved a bit closer at his words, if he would not reject her she would aim to put her nose in the plush fur that protected his neck, his vital place. But she had no interest in hurting the possible-ghost-possible-not-ghost.

If she had even made it to touch him, she would pull away at his question. "Something, anything." She spoke softly. Her mind couldn't focus on much and Circe wasn't even positive what she wanted from him other than company. Despite all the walls she put up she could not deny that the one thing she had always needed was company.

He accepted the touch skeptically, ignoring the instinct to pull away. He didn’t quite trust her. As weak and vulnerable she seemed in the moment, he never underestimated a component. He had seen her hunt before. He knew she was clever. Despite this, he was powerless to her charms, leaning into the touch softly. It was hard to keep his mind clear, to remind himself that this could all be an act. He didn’t want it to be. Things were flowing so well, the energy so gentle. He craved it.




Anything. He starred at her like he was starring at a bird in the sky. He couldn’t quite understand, there had to be something in the way, some sort of obstacle. She hadn’t acted like this when they first met, so why now? “Did you eat anything bizarre?” The words slipped out of his mouth, breaking the atmosphere with the sharpness in his tone. He knew little about plants, but he knew enough that sometimes they could adjust a wolf’s perception.

She pulled away a bit more at the sharpness that cut through her dazed atmosphere some. "It wasn't bizarre." She replied back, a frown replacing her once peaceful features. "It was a small mix up." Not entirely but she didn't owe him an explanation. If he didn't want her company he didn't have to stand around with her. He had answered her song after all. Not vice versa.

"What do you want?" She asked in a soft tone rather than demanding. She was too mellowed out to bring herself to lash out or shoo him off. Circe knew she simply had to ride this out, even if that meant putting up with the suddenly dense atmosphere that had built around them. She supposed she could always go crawling off into the fog again to find another companion.

It was almost relieving when the woman hissed back at him, a glimpse of personality Vaken was more familiar with. He was right. She had eaten something and now it was impacting her mood. Having that answered settled his nerves more, easing back into the situation at hand. She wasn’t trying to seduce him to murder him, she was simply under the influence. Her question stabbed at him like a pointed finger, despite the soft tone she used. It felt accusatory and mad in comparison to her other words, his own guilt tainting her tone. He lowered his ears and tail, timidly approaching her with a few soft steps.




He let the question roll around in his head for a few seconds, unsure. What did he want? It was a loaded question, one he had a hard time answering even in the secrecy of his own mind. “Something, anything,” he repeated, using her words in a dream-like way before lightly touching his tail to hers.

Her own words were echoed back to her. Green gaze glanced over at the male's form. She did not push him away or move further when he drew closer. She had been the one to instigate contact on the first hand. Granted the tempest had not expected him to reach out after that sharp question.

She could not fully relax now but if he was willing to play along for a little longer perhaps she could enjoy her time in the foggy woods while she was still here. "Anything?" She asked with a quirked brow. There was plenty that fell into that category. "I was thinking about you and then you just...show up." She whispered to him. "It's why I thought you to be a ghost." Why she felt the need to confess that was unknown but something about confessing it made her feel...better?
