almost perfect - Woya - Mar 30, 2023 Woya had hoped her antics with her husband had not been enough to sow life, but once more the universe seemed unwilling to cut the couple any slack. The driving heat had subsided, and pregnancy hormones were beginning to lace her scent. There was no doubt in her mind that she once again carried Adelard's children. The question was whether or not she'd be lucky enough to live through this hardship a second time. She sat upon the shore of the lake, its ice now brittle and sinking in some places, and contemplated her situation and the plethora of choices that lay before her. None of them would end this process, but there were still right and wrong ones available, weren't there? Setting out into the unknown certainly no longer seemed promising. Raising children here though, keeping the ones who had been traumatized in the place that it had happened, risking any of their deaths next? Woya would never regret Adelard, but damned if she wasn't wishing she could change her choices that evening they'd been reunited. RE: almost perfect - Adora - Mar 30, 2023 if you still want to wait for fly it's cool! adora just has feelings and things to say :x
[dohtml] How scary it was to stand on the cusp of her first year and hate what she had become. The constant anxiety nagged and bubbled within her to the point that she spent more time out there then she did here. She had an inkling she would have never returned from the den on the other side of the lake if not for the blood family she still had here. Her siblings, her mother. Adora had been blissfully unaware of whatever happened in the Cove now. Tragedy could not touch her if she built a fortress around herself. Surely her mother above all had noticed. Her mother who sat like a statue by the lakeside. The lake that seemed to take with very little give in return. Mama, She chirped softly as her now large form softly sunk. A collection of words halted on the tip of her tongue. Afraid that she'd only cause more hurt, when all she wanted was goodness. RE: almost perfect - Woya - Mar 31, 2023 Woya sunk deeply into her thoughts, not hearing her daughter approach until the girl spoke. She blinked, turned her head, and greeted Adora with a fond smile. Her secret favorite had taken all of this so hard, it physically pained the mother's heart. Without getting up she scooted closer and bopped her offspring's forehead with her nose affectionately. "Hello hun. How are you?" Happy was certainly not the answer expected, but she wanted to hear Adora's own words on how she felt today. She checked in with her hermitting daughter as frequently as she could without neglecting her other two children present and her responsibilities to the Cove. If the girl needed time and space, that was alright, so long as she was safe. Emotions and grief took time and never worked on the schedule they wanted them to. RE: almost perfect - Adora - Apr 04, 2023 "The same," RE: almost perfect - Woya - Apr 04, 2023 The near-yearling responded honestly, made declarations that weren't surprising but which Woya expected were still hard for Adora to openly admit to. With so few words, her firstborn made up the matriarch's mind for her. She leaned forward to touch her nose to her daughter's cheek in an effort to comfort her before speaking. "I do too. Let's see who else is ready." She tilted back her head then, calling out for two specific groups: leadership, and the Macieo-Gerau clan. It was not dire but urgent that they congregate, for she was ready for action. They were officially on the clock now, racing against the progression of her pregnancy.
Woya is calling together her family and expects them all to come. @Adelard @Apolline @Augustin - this will be to decide who is leaving SC with Woya and Adora and who is staying or going their own way. @Nash and @Oksana have also been called for so that they can be informed of the family's decision. If they don't come, Woya will seek Oksana out after to say goodbye before leaving.
RE: almost perfect - Adelard - Apr 14, 2023 Never too far away, Adelard heard Woya's call loud and clear. He hadn't been spying on her, per se, or even listening in, but he had been keeping watch. A queensguard in his truest form. One ear kept facing in her direction while the other swiveled where his eyes focused. He got to his feet from his reclined position, his back half obscured by lakeside flora. Heavy footsteps announced his arrival on the scene. And, while he wore his characteristic scowl, it softened as he regarded his daughter. This was his mate's lookalike, Adora. A short wave of his tail and a short greeting to his mate. His head craned downward and he placed a kiss on Woya's chin before backing away and settling down. Much like an obedient hound, he reclined forward, stifling back a yawn. His ears pinned back for a moment before returning to their original positions. Nothing but a wordless woof was offered as he eyed the two women. He was ready for whatever came next. RE: almost perfect - Nash - May 08, 2023 [dohtml] As the season drew to a close it quickly became apparent that Aquene was pregnant. There was a nervous warmth in Nash's heart; excitement to become a father once again, but Chan's words still bounced in his brain and he couldn't help but be nervous for the wellbeing of their newest child. So far their previous litter had remained safe, but there was no guaruntee. He quickly responded to Woya's call and as he approached another thing became obvious: Aquene was not the only one with child. Nash's ears fell back and he slowed his pace as he joined the family, eyeing the couple. He shouldn't be surprised. They'd been leaders themselves the previous year, and Adelard had been away for a while. Even so... "Adelard," he greeted, then turned his wary gaze to his wife, "Woya." He sat and waited for an explanation, expectation clear on his face. RE: almost perfect - Adora - May 11, 2023 [dohtml] So it seemed there were done here, then, just like that. A weight slipped free, even if there was still another conversation or two to hurdle through. Adora could leave tonight and she knew that at the very least her mother would understand. Perhaps that was the most important part of all of this. Her father, her sister. Those two mattered too. Nash only greeted her parents though. As if the children weren't even here, as if they hadn't also experienced the discomfort of the Cove, seen the tragedies that had impacted them all. She could not help the soft frown that carved into her marble features. So instead she remained silent, imaging her mother would have the better words here. She was simply ready to leave. RE: almost perfect - Augustin - May 15, 2023 Augustin had taken notice that his father had returned to them. However he hadn't really seen much of the man since his return. Father had stayed with mother the whole time he'd been back. This left Auggie wondering how he should take that. He would have thought that after being away for so long that he'd want to see his children. So when his mothers voice rang out he was a little surprised to hear her calling the family or what was left of it together. For a long moment the young man didn't move but finally he knew that he had to go akd find out what she wanted. It seemed he was last to arrive or maybe there was more of them. He wasn't sure how many of them remained at this point. He looked around before finding a place to rest upon his haunches to hear what they'd been called there for. |
