you can't run away - Borlla - Jun 01, 2013 Light rain — Current Temperature: 57° F/14° C [dohtml] Late morning had drifted into early afternoon, and the woman finally managed to pull herself free from Magnolia Glen. Well, sort of. Her mind was constantly upon her children, freshly "exposed" to the pack. They were fine, she was certain, but she longed to do nothing but watch them learn and explore. But even the mother needed a break, and sometimes she simply needed to yank herself away by force. Along the borders of her pack she lingered, absently refreshing scent markers that she found a bit too faint for her tastes. But as the air began to warm and a faint rain began to fall, she took to the Creek. Following it for a time, she finally paused. The scent of Magnolia Glen seemed just out of range here. Good. This was far enough. A large tree tipped precariously towards the creek, its roots slightly exposed, but it clearly wasn't going anywhere. The woman pawed at the grass for a moment, before moving a step forward to look into the clear water of the creek. Its pace seemed rather quick today. She was faintly reminded of a lifetime ago. She'd reunited with her brother. They must've played around that creek. The image was faint in her mind, but it was better this way. With a flick of her ears, Borlla dipped forward, lapping at the cold liquid, the patter of rain filling her ears now. After her thirst was quenched, she removed herself, finding a bit of a bed in the roots of the tree. Tucked between the roots, she settled, paws curled into her chest as she shut her eyes. Just short nap and then she'd go back. Although a rumbling in her stomach would likely drive her to hunt, if only to throw herself back into such a groove."speech." RE: you can't run away - Borlla - Jun 01, 2013 [dohtml] It was surprising how fast she'd dozed off. Clearly the woman had been a bit more exhausted than even she had realized. Her ears twitched quietly, erratically as she slept, unhearing for the most part. It felt nice to sleep, if that was even possible, but among the cool air and rain it was almost perfect. Almost, almost perfect if not for..."Miss?" Her ears flicked a bit more meaningfully and her head shook a bit as she sat up. Her paws slipped free from their place beneath her chest and she opened her eyes, blinking away the grog. "Yes?" She asked, parting her jaws in a yawn before she turned her eyes upon whoever had called her. She must've been sleeping still, locked in some half-conscious dream world. The wolf before her looked just like Triell. But it couldn't have been. What would he be doing over here? Why was he even speaking to her? But Borlla wasn't sure whether or not to pretend that she was dreaming or to accept this as reality, as odd as it was. She'd already convinced herself that she had a new life, away from the old one that he kind of brought along with him. However, maybe that was where she went wrong. She couldn't just pretend that her past didn't exist. So, it was as she rose, toes curled half around the roots she stood upon, that she accepted that this was very likely the brother she hadn't seen in ages. Her gaze was quizzical, no other words ushered forth as her simple question still lingered in the damp air. "speech." RE: you can't run away - Triell - Jun 03, 2013 [dohtml]
RE: you can't run away - Borlla - Jun 03, 2013 [dohtml] Part of her almost flinched when she heard her name, as though he'd said it with some malice and hatred. Instead, he sounded confused. Her eyes met his and she felt the slightest nod move her head. It was a silly sort of answer. Of course it was her, and they both knew it. They were both so old now. She couldn't even remember the last time she'd seen her littermate, either of them. But it had been a long time. Too long. She'd betrayed her birth pack, abandoned them too many times to be forgiven. But she wondered, what was he doing so far from home? Her expression hadn't changed since she'd risen, straight faced, evidently just as confounded as he was. But as she spotted him wagging, she found it hard to keep a smile off of her face. He wasn't....Angry with her? The rest of her so-called family had been so fast to turn her away, but he was standing her wagging, well, they both were now. Jumping from the roots, she took a step closer to him, features alert, tail in a frenzy. She was still a little cautious, wonderous. He could just stand there without scowling at her. Maybe she'd convinced herself far too quickly that her family didn't want her. They clearly weren't all gone either. She didn't have Ruiko or Indru...But maybe she still had Triell. Part of her wanted to test this theory, completely close the distance between them, share some long lost sibling embrace, but she kept to where she was. "I'm good," She began, sounding a bit startled that she suddenly had to speak. She shook her head then, laughing. "No, I'm great, wonderful even." It was true. After months and months, years even, of her messes piling up, she'd managed to sort something out for herself. "How are you? I mean, why are you so far from Swift River?" There was a nervous tone to her voice. Borlla really had no right to ask. "speech." RE: you can't run away - Triell - Jun 04, 2013 [dohtml]
RE: you can't run away - Borlla - Jun 04, 2013 [dohtml] They seemed to get closer and closer to one another. It was as though there was some desire to show some sort of affection, but both parties were hesitant. Borlla certainly was, whether or not he was happy to see her. She harbored no hatred of any kind towards Triell. Never had her darker brother ever wronged her in any way. Not like Indru had, or Ruiko. If anything, he had plenty of reason to scowl at her, though he chose not to. In youth, she'd abused him and essentially shamed their family. Then she'd run away time and time again. She left him alone...She was just as bad as her elder brothers. Sighing, her eyes softened, this single thought in her mind. In a sense, he was almost all she had left, at least in blood, true blood. She couldn't even begin to describe how it felt knowing that he harbored no hatred towards her. She sat back upon her haunches, her tail sweeping around one hind leg. A gentle rain still fell, but she hardly noticed it now. It was a pleasant enough day, even with the rain. Maybe the drizzle even made things a bit better. She let out a breath, pondering his question. Had she really wanted this initially? It probably had never crossed her mind. If anything, she simply desired freedom. Somewhere she could be where no one would judge her. But as time passed, her desires changed. She longed for the company of others, a normal life...That was all she wanted. "Oh...Everything and more, Triell, I don't think you'd even imagine." Her entire life had changed in a few mere months. Everything had been flipped upon its head. She thought of her children, and wished that he could see them. Her smile faltered as the question she'd present was answered. He spoke of a few things she already knew of: Indru's disappearance and Ruiko's departure. All she could really do was nod gravely, feeling his sorrow. But part of her felt a bit of caution and surprise at hearing of Swift River's relocation. "Are they?" Ears tipped forward in surprise, and she leaned forward towards him. Corinna would live on this side of the mountain. They would have to see each other at some point. Borlla leaned back, head tipping back as she let out a heavy sigh. Her feelings towards the she-wolf were no longer hostile. She'd been justified in her anger after all Borlla had done to her. Besides, if she hadn't been forcibly removed from Swift River, none of this would have ever happened. "speech." RE: you can't run away - Triell - Jun 10, 2013 sorry for the wait, and lamish post. >.< [dohtml]
RE: you can't run away - Borlla - Jun 10, 2013 [dohtml] She wondered how to break the news to him. It was sort of...A news break, wasn't it? Something so extreme, that maybe he wouldn't even believe her. Certainly if she'd told her yearling-self of the happenings to come, she probably wouldn't have believed present-Borlla either. Someone so devoid of happiness and hope that she wouldn't even believe herself. It was a bit sad, really, but it was the truth. But her own brother deserved to know, didn't he? Triell deserved to know that he had a little niece and nephew wandering about. Well, ones that weren't Corinna's. But for the time being, she put it aside, interested a bit more in hearing about Swift River and their move. If they were to come over the mountain, then Borlla would have to face her eventually. Magnolia Glen also called this land their home and she would want everyone to co-exist peacefully. She met the bright eyes of her brother and nodded knowingly. She wanted that, too. To put the past behind themselves. She laughed, caressing her sibling in the same loving fashion before withdrawing. "Who knows? I'm just sad it took me so long." Borlla rolled her eyes, and let out a sigh. "This is my home, by the way, Triell," She smiled at him. If they were going to talk about growing up, she figured it was as good a segway as any. "Magnolia Glen. I suppose we were the ones you were looking for." Someone had told him about them. It seemed a bit like fate. Although, she supposed, if Swift River was coming over the mountain, they would have run into each other eventually. "speech."
