Moving Time - Narimé - Jul 22, 2013

The sky is dark with storm clouds. RE

[dohtml]

Narimé was more than a little nervous about moving the pups tonight. Storm clouds were gathering over the meadow strikingly dark in contrast to the still sunlit meadow. The birthing den had been inside the edge of the forest bordering the meadow and now the silver alpha wanted only to get her pups to a safer more comfortable place.

The earthy den had been scraped out by her subordinates at first. However as the pups became more active and Nari gained her lost weight back the young mother found the den becoming quite a bit more cramped and chilly. She'd scraped out the den to make it a little bigger about a week and a half ago, but now with danger looming close in the darkening skies Nari wanted them moved before the storm hit. Nudging the pups awake Nari called to them softly.

"Yuka, Malia, Titan wake up little ones. We are going to go meet the rest of the family." She nudged them a little more roughly only to get them going. She didn't want the storm to catch them while they were traveling.

Glancing out of her tiny den entrance Nari watched the shadow filled clouds warily with her violet hued blue eyes. Worry fluttered in her chest about the move, but Nari knew that the pups would be safer around their pack mates than alone with her. There would be more eyes at the main den to watch them too.

\
Turning around she went to grab the least awake pup by its scruff. The pup, being Titan would be carried (or dragged) by her whether he liked it or not. If he doesn't want to wake up and move then I'll be moving him.. She looked over at the other two expecting them to follow her out of the den to the windy world outside.

RE: Moving Time - Yuka - Jul 22, 2013

[dohtml]
Yuka had been happily sleeping in the den with his two siblings, not a care in the world. Everything seemed to be perfectly fine. He was snuggled up against his mother: Narimé, Titan and Malia were sleeping soundly next to him, and outside was perfectly still…until the first sound of thunder struck. Immediately, his teal blue eyes opened and the first signs of amber creeping into flecks in his eyes as he looked up slightly. Otherwise, he was perfectly still, in slight shock at the loud noise that had woke him up. The bundles of fur that were laying next to him still slept soundly, from what he could tell, but he just sat there in fear, his eyes wide as he stared into the darkness of the den. Luckily for him, no other noise sounded that would scare him enough, but he did stay alert, just in case there was something out there that could potentially harm him. Little did he know that it was almost morning, but the darkness outside told him otherwise, and so he closed his eyes in hope of regaining some of the sleep he had lost.

It felt as though as soon as he closed his eyes and started drifting into sleep, that Narimé prodded him and spoke his name. His eyes snapped open immediately, tensing slightly, before relaxing and not seeing any danger. Confused, Yuka looked towards the den entrance, not exactly catching on as to why she was waking us up in the middle of the night. As his mother commanded them to follow her, the now shaking pup followed his mother, glaring slightly up at his brother who seemed to always get special treatment. Flicking his tail, he tried to speak up so that his mother could hear him, "Narimé, why we out ‘night?"

RE: Moving Time - Titan - Jul 30, 2013

[dohtml]

He was so tired.

The young shadowy pup never missed his beauty sleep. Perhaps due to the continuous romping around with his siblings the ebony pup always slept well then rose early in the morning. Crinkling his nose in a tiny snarl Titan whined loudly as he was shoved in his sleep.

Oh so tired. But a few swift nudges from a larger gray muzzle was waking the large pup albeit slowly. Barely opening his blue eyes Titan saw blurred shapes and colors; mostly of dark shadows and varying shades of gray. The young Thorben sneezed once then began blinking away the blurry sleepiness from his sapphire eyes.

This was too early. He should still be sleeping right now and Titan knew it. Though he was not sure why mother was waking him. Nor did the pup realize the danger of the storm closing in.

"I'm tired mo-" His complaint was cut short when a gentle grip settled over the back of his neck in the loose skin and black fur. Without struggle the dark pup instead felt his body instinctively go limp as his mothers gentle hold began to lift him into the air. Well...Mostly into the air. His tail and back end dragged in the dirt every time his silver furred mother dipped her head even a little bit.

Looking around as Narime moved him about, Titan spotted his brother teetering around to his left. His smaller siblings gray fur made him look almost like a little ghost looming around in the shadowed den. Then Titan whined as the earth hit his leg while mother tried waking the others.

The disadvantages of being the largest pup. A hurting rear end.

"Momma whad's dat?" Titan's blue eyes opened wide as he looked out of the den at the sky. The giant billowing clouds were flashing with light! The young pup was entranced by the sight. He wanted to know what that light was!

"Momma! Momma! Whad's Dat light!" His tail finally started wagging excitedly as he waited somewhat impatiently for her answer.

RE: Moving Time - Narimé - Aug 01, 2013

[dohtml]

Narime struggled to hold her largest pup. The struggle was evident by the whines that came out of Titan's mouth as she bumped him along the ground. At least I know he's a healthy growing boy... Nari's eyes flicked to Yuka as the little gray cub asked her why they were moving. Unfortunately with her mouth full the young mother could not answer her pup; instead giving him a "sorry I'm busy" look from her blue eyes.

Prodding @Malia a few more times with her paw Narime tried to hurry her daughter up. The womans silver fur prickled as the air pressure dropped speaking of the storms arrival. Their birthing den was in the edge of the forest near the meadow. So Nari wanted to move them farther into the forest where the main den lie hidden in the protective trees. There the four wolves would be safer from lightning. At least that was what the worried mother thought.

Titan spoke up just after a few lightning flashes lit up the edge of Nari's vision. Seeing as the largest boy was awake now she would let him walk for himself. Setting down the heavy black bundle the young woman stretched her jaw then poked at Malia again.

"Wake up little one. We need to leave. We are going on an adventure!" She spoke trying to sound excited while forcing her silver banner to wag slowly out behind her.

Turning to look at the boys Narime smiled. "We are going to a bigger home not too far away Yuka." She tried reassuring the silvery pup then glanced at his larger brother.

"That light out in the big clouds is called lightning. It's pretty but can hurt us. That's why we are moving." She warned her dark son hoping that he was listening.

Glancing out at the clouds herself, Nari watched as lightning spliced across the afternoon sky. The giant thunderheads were just reaching the sun and Nari guessed that within the next five minutes they would be cast in the shadow of the storm. Luckily the storm was still a few miles away. She still had time to move the pups to the safe caverns.

RE: Moving Time - Malia - Aug 10, 2013

[dohtml]

A long day filled with fighting and exploring had tired Malia right out by bedtime. Falling asleep quickly was one of her specialties. She also had quite a knack when it came to staying asleep, to the disadvantage of anyone looking to wake her up. Her small ears caught the whines of Titan and the voices of each of her family members, but they sounded muffled and far away. Assuming it was a dream, the Thorben girl flipped her body over to the other side, expecting to find the warm fur that should be laying there. Instead she found only air and collapsed pitifully into the dirt that covered the base of the birthing den.

Finally this began to rouse her, along with the insistent prods from her mother and a kick that she could have sworn came from one of Titan's dangling legs. A moan emerged from her small mouth, one filled with complaints and protest. As she groggily opened her eyes her other senses became more acute and managed to latch on and understand the conversation happening around her. Why did they have to move now? Couldn't they at least wait until morning?

Hearing her brothers' similar grievances launched Malia into action, along with her mom's words of adventures of course. Now wide awake, she marched towards the opening of the den and scampered up its slight incline into the coming darkness. Black clouds furled above them as if forming a hurricane. Looking outwards into the forests that surrounded the den, the small pup saw sheets of rain coming steadily towards them as the clouds advanced evermore on their own quest. There was a sudden crack of lightning that hit a tree nearby, splitting a branch with a noise that made it sound like the world was ending. "Momma!!" Malia shrieked, though did not dare to go back inside. There was no way she would show fear to her brothers.

Narimé finally had all of her pups awake and moving. Now she just had to lead them away deeper into the forest where the cavern lay hidden. Truthfully the protective cave was not too far away. It should be a quick walk granted the pups would follow her without getting too distracted. Perhaps being scared will mean that they will listen and obey me more easily. Nari stepped farther out into the damp air. It wasn't raining yet, but it would soon. Her silver banner and slim head flicked upward confidently trying to show her pups that she was not afraid. Then the silver wolf padded slowly out into the edge of the forest and meadow. Her body turned towards the forest ready to head out into the tall trees that would protect her youngsters as well as herself.

"Come! Follow me and stay together. Protect each other. " She gave the order gesturing for the pups to follow with her tail. Then the young mother began to lead them past the edge of the meadow and into the forest. Every few feet her blue gaze would look back making sure everyone was keeping pace with her. Narimé knew that she should rush but she didn't want the pups struggling to keep up through the undergrowth. So the woman would stop every once in a while to help out her pups if hey needed it.

Her silver form passed a tall cedar tree that stood alone mixed within the willows that dominated the tiny swath of forest. Perhaps the cedar tree was a remnant of the forest to the north? Or maybe a random seed that the breeze brought to the south. Perhaps either was true for all of those cedar tree's peppered throughout the Whisper Caverns forest.

Nari stepped over the gnarled roots of a willow tree urging her pups onward. She could see two things that both worried the woman and relaxed her. The hill where the cave entrance hid behind was not too far into the distance. That was the good thing she noticed. The worrisome thing was that the clouds were now billowing overhead lighting up the forest with flashes of light.

Narimé was worried that the pups would freeze in terror. She could carry one but not all. Seeing as though she was close to the main den anyway Nari raised her head and howled for her pack mates to come and help. Her tone echoed her concern urging for the subordinates to come quickly.

"Minka. @Simaea, Anglo, @Inali, @Sloane, @Kieth, Tokino, and anyone else! Please come and help!" She called for those she knew even her grumpy annoying uncle. Nari could not worry about her pack mates causing harm to the pups at this moment. She only worried about the storm surging overhead.

RE: Moving Time - Yuka - Aug 11, 2013

[dohtml]
He did not want to admit it but it was extremely hard to when he heard and saw the constant thunder and lightning that lit up the sky. If it would have been any other circumstance without him tripping over things in the dark, he probably would have enjoyed the sight and welcomed it, reveling in its beauty. Nature was definitely beautiful and it hurt him to know that he almost feared the nature that was being shown to him now. It would be a lot less hurtful if he hadn’t landed awkwardly on a few fallen tree branches around that he had awkwardly stepped on a few times. Thankfully, when the lightning lit up the sky it also lit up the ground beneath him and it gave him a little bit of an idea as to what was coming ahead of him. He did not pay much attention to his brother and sister, being more focused on Narimé and where she was leading the trio. Every once and awhile he would catch himself glancing at Titan and Malia though, making sure that they were okay, though Narimé seemed content in keeping one of them in her jaws every few moments, leaving him on the ground to fend for himself.

In a sense it made him proud of himself though, knowing that Narimé had enough faith in him to let him down on the ground by himself and follow her with no questions, at least not after the first one that he asked. Eventually they made it to a place where his mother just completely stopped and threw back her head and yowled out for a bunch of others. Tilting his head at some of the unfamiliar names and shrugged his shoulders, Inali’s name stuck out like a red berry to him. It was the name of the pretty lady he had met while exploring. She had been the one that he thought was even prettier than his mother. He enjoyed spending his time with her and found himself looking out for her more often after their little encounter a few days before they had moved. Thinking that he might see her, a small goofy grin spread over his face, completely forgetting about the thunderstorm above him. Before anything else happened, his forced his smile down into a neutral look, trying to mask his excitement.

RE: Moving Time - Malia - Aug 11, 2013

[dohtml]

Malia cowered as her mother walked right past, not pausing a second to take a look at her frightened form beneath the flashes of light. Her brothers wobbled after their gray-and-white mother. The Thorben daughter chased after them, stumbling over wet twigs. She focused more on her feet than her brothers at this point, worried that she would be left alone in the worsening storm. The girl yearned to run forwards and lead the charge, not to be the one behind everyone else. Picking up speed, Malia bounded forwards past her brothers. She was right on the tail of her mother when Narime suddenly stopped. The 3 month-old skidded in an attempt to halt, nearly running into mom, who was in the process of calling for others.

The girl turned to look at Yuka who was somewhere behind her. He looked so pleased with himself! Malia rolled her eyes but walked towards him, making sure to bump into him when she got there. "What're you so happy about?" she asked, catching the broad smile that passed over his features before he looked towards the soggy ground. Wind whistled around them and lightning flashed, but right now Malia was much more interested in her brother than what was happening around her. "Speech"

RE: Moving Time - Titan - Aug 20, 2013

[dohtml]

His mother firstly turned her attention to Malia trying to wake her. The gray woman even put the large pup down so that he could walk by himself. Titan whined loudly trying to get his young mothers attention. He wanted her to answer his question. Though the young lads tail began to wag at the mention of an adventure.

His dark head whipped around to stare at the clouds after a boom of thunder echoed in the distance. Are we gonna aveture out there? He began kneading the ground with dull puppy claws waiting impatiently for his sister to get up. Then the young boys mother spoke up. First she addressed his brothers question. Titan gave her a funny face wishing she would notice and answer his question.

Ears pricked up as Nari finally gave he little man what he wanted. Her soothing voice caught his attention. The words "lightning" and "hurt us" made the boys tail pause. His fur prickled with energy accumulating within the air. His blue eyes turned to the clouds again watching the flashing light show above the meadow. That..light-ing stuff can hurt us? But it's so high up! For now he was still unafraid of the dangerous bolts that streaked the sky in front of him.

It wasn't until mother had started padding outside into the darkness, her silver pelt showing the way that Titan began to get nervous. He started trotting after her brushing past his ghostly brother for comfort. Momma looked so strong. She didn't look scared at all. However when the dark boy reached her a bolt of lightning struck achingly close with a "BANG" that rumbled the ground beneath his paws. It was then that Titan became scared. Snuggling up next to his mothers front legs the young Thorben could feel her tense muscles too. A little whine escaped his mouth until he noticed Malia coming over. He had heard her shriek from the den but now she didn't look scared at all and this confused him. How could she not be scared of that lightning which struck so close?

If she isn't scared then I'm not scared.. He puffed out his chest and strutted forward after their slow moving mother. Though the boys legs shook with fright with every step. He glanced to his right to look at Yuka wondering if his brother was as scared as he was.

Yuka looked even more unfazed by the storm around them than Malia did. How was he doing that? Titan glanced up and flinched as another bolt of lightning struck only half a mile away sending a tremor through the ground. He scrambled forwards keeping his head level like his brother and sister. If they weren't scared then he shouldn't be. Just follow mom that's all he had to do.

His black ears perked forward picking up his mothers encouragement. She stopped every once in a while to help them but for the most part kept their pace forward into the forest. Titan kept his mouth shut keeping the whines from slipping out. He didn't want the other two to know how frightened he was right now.

Then his mother stopped stepping close to the three pups and raised her head to call for others. Titan didn't recognize any of the names and he wondered just who these other wolves were.
"Who're they?"He asked finally letting a high pitched whine come out through his lips.

RE: Moving Time - Sloane - Aug 31, 2013

[dohtml]
The wind and the brilliant lightning that was filling the sky were making the huge alpha nervous. For the first time he felt a great unease at his family being separated. His pack family, bound by loyalty and devotion were camped out in the communal den he and Nari had claimed as their home. But his heart, his blood... they were in a tiny secluded den and all alone at the moment. For reasons that he couldn't name this storm was unnerving him. He'd never been afraid of storms themselves, but he felt divided right now and his muscles bunched with tension beneath his fiery pelt.

The call came on the moaning wind. His love calling for help. A near panic rose in the young father. Was something wrong with the pups? With her? Wasting no time, he was already on his way, calling a bark of summons to the others in the cave. Not waiting to see if @Kieth, @{Simea}, or @Inali responded the over-sized male headed out at a run towards Narime's summons. His heart felt as if it would beat its way right out of his chest. In the darkness he nearly bolted right by his family hidden in the shadows, but he heard the inquiring voices of his pups, questioning their mother.

Quickly his golden amber eyes scanned all of them, seeing no injury to any of them. They were together and they were safe, but why were they out here on a night like this? He gave Narime' a worried look and nuzzled her cheek before giving each of his pups a quick affectionate lick with his long pink tongue. Sensing the tension that seemed to roll off of his mate, he realized what she was doing. The time had come to move the children. And with this storm brewing, time was of the essence. "I can carry Titan, the others should be here soon, my love."
