feast fit for the kings - Elettra - Nov 19, 2014 I thought I might get the ball rolling on this before it's too late! This is for any and all Willow Ridge, Secret Woodlands and Whisper Caverns wolves! Of course, some loners or scouts might stumble upon this large gathering but we warned that it is a private event and intruders are likely to be booted from the feast. I went ahead and assumed they already did the hunting. Feel free to be vague and 'make up' what you caught, who you paired with (be okay with the other rpers). Those who do not show will be assumed to have stayed back in the pack lands to watch them.
[dohtml]
It had been a long time since Elettra had held a meeting, mostly one of this magnitude. The last time she had gathered a group of this size together was when she called upon the packs of all Relic Lore, to join her in order to make a plan and take action against the growing threat of deceased wolves over the mountains. The thought placed a smirk upon her gray-rimmed lips... Not because of those sick wolves, but because she had accomplished such a task and that in the long run it had turned out well, ending the threat. In fact, she and her family and her pack as a whole, had accomplished much since their creation. They had helped take down the Aniwaya wolves. They had defeated their enemies - Pitch Pine Trail and more recently, Hollowheart Keep in their mishaps over a stolen child. They held a 3-way alliance with two other packs since their very founding, leaders to which had been under Elettra's rule at one point, or whom she had nursed back from critical care. The list went on and all Elettra could do was smile upon it as she roused from her small nap, nudging at one of her children by her side. [/dohtml]
The three packs had begun their travels and gathered together by the bright afternoon. They began their hunting in small groups, all those gathered open and willing to mesh and mingle their groups in order to get to know one another as allies more fully, as Elettra and some of the other leaders had insisted. Not all hunted at once, some staying back to watch the younger pups and yearlings. Some staying back to take a nap after their journey or after their hunts whilst other groups went out. The whole process lasted the day, with wounds of hunting very mild to possible only scraps, cuts and bruises, which were effectively tended to. Their location for the event could not have been more perfect... Within the Wildwood they were in the heart of all the lands. They were just south of the creek where water was easily obtained after a hard running hunt or after stuffing your mouth. It was just at the outskirts of where the think, tangling forest was and opened up to the sparse opening where the fire had raged years ago. The lands here were more flat, teaming with new life as it regenerated from previous disaster. After hunting all day and some of the night, the wolves seemed to rouse and rise from their placements. All had worked hard in their accomplishment, as kill after kill lay before them now - a few geese and pheasant, various fish and rabbit from more personal hunts, multiple pronghorn and mule deer, a bull elk (often known for their solitude in the winter), and too her surprise, a large (though aged) male wood bison. Moving away from those gathered in her group, she stretches out before the morning sun, as day broke from a hard previous day's work. She takes her move, making way over towards @Nina and @Narimé though for the time being says not a word. She had thought up this idea for them all to gather and it had certainly made quiet a prophet (for although they had to share, certain prey - like the bison, might not have been capable without all their well skilled hunters together) she allowed them to take the reigns if they had anything to say before they began their eating and further socializing on a more personal (instead of business - like hunting) level. RE: feast fit for the kings - Enoki - Nov 19, 2014 Gonna leave whoever helped Enoki bring down the Bison vague as if she didn't know their names unless someone she does know joins in. Need 3 to 4 wolves for that.
[dohtml] With the first rays of light warming her pelt the piebald woman stirred from her slumber, her eye lids slowly fluttering open to greet the new day. Rising her head from its nestled position between her forepaws a loud yawn broke the lining of her lips before a small shake of her head followed to rid the last bit of sleep from her eyes. Yesterday had been a busy day for the many wolves both familiar and not that gathered within the confines of the Wildwood, their muscles and wits put to the test in order to bring down kill after kill for the feast that was now in full swing. Many wolves even continued to hunt late into the night, the sound of mule deer and rabbit cries lulling the Ashrelle woman to a peaceful sleep. Enoki had done her fair share of chasing and bringing down prey as well, the latest kill being a male wood bison older in age. It was a tough fight for her and the group of wolves that aided in the hunt with the only casualty being a good nick to her hind quarter when the bull charged as a last resort to scare the wolves off. The damage was minimum, leaving her leg with no more than a good cut and bruising. Nothing that taking it easy couldn't fix. Rising to all fours from her temporary sleeping quarters she gave a shake of her pelt to help wake her up the rest of the way even though her body argued against her decision and begged for more rest. Sleep was for the weak and weak was not a definition for Enoki. Craning her head back to look at her right hind leg she gave the leg a cautious stretch, a small wince appearing on her face when it reached half of its full extension. Yep, she was going to have a small limp that day, but luckily the hunting portion of the meeting Elettra had called was over. Soon it would be time for the cluster of wolves to dine on their hard earned kills and mingle among one another, meeting the unfamiliar faces that made up their allies. There was no doubting the electric energy that filled the air that morning. Reeling her sore leg back in she gave the small cut along her flank a quick lick to clean the wound before turning her attention to the scene around her. Most of the wolves were starting to arise with the morning light like she, though some continued to sleep on, most likely the wolves that had stayed up later to hunt longer. Slowly trotting forward while putting minimal weight on her leg, a limp faintly noticeable, Enoki made her way towards the creek that settled south of their rendezvous point with intentions of quenching her parched throat. During her trek to the creek she pondered who was all here. She knew who had come from her pack, but there were many faces she didn't recognize like the ones who had participated in bringing down the bison. A mental note was placed in the back of her mind to thank those wolves and get their names later. Elettra had stressed meeting the wolves that were unfamiliar. With both Whisper Caverns and Secret Woodlands as allies, it was important to know each member in order to distinguish friend from foe come times of trouble. And Enoki hardly knew any of them. She knew @Narimé from whisper caverns, but that was it from that pack. Then there was @Koda , @Nina and @Iopah from Secret Woodlands. 'That's a good start, I suppose.' She thought as she arrived at the water source. There were still members of her own pack that she was yet to meet. She definitely needed to get out there more. With that thought in place she lowered her crown to lap at the waters surface, her dried mouth and throat welcoming the cool relief of the water as it slid down to fill her belly. Once her thirst was quenched she turned her body and made her way back to the others, nodding her head at other wolves that passed her by on their way to the creek to quench their own thirst. RE: feast fit for the kings - Iopah - Nov 20, 2014 [dohtml] Iopah shifted in her sleep. Pale legs curling about themselves and her dark nose pressed more firmly under her gray tail. It was fully autumn now and the air was cool despite the bright morning sun. A scent drifted through the morning air, propelled by a light wind. Food, the sharp tang of fish and game-y scent of red meat. The scent passed by her nose. Her nose twitched, recognizing the strangeness even in her sleep. That wasn't right. There shouldn't be food just outside her den. Her head lifted drowsily and she found herself gazing at an unfamiliar wolf. She was still half-asleep and spent a moment staring hard before memory caught up with her. They were all allies here, she simply didn't have a name for the dozing wolf yet. She rose to her feet, stiff from cold and the nights hunt, and left the wolf to their dreams. Their name would remain their own, Iopah could talk with them later. Her path wound around the sleeping wolves, careful to not disturb the still forms. Here and there were familiar wolves. Some from the Caverns and those from her own pack. All were avoided till she spied an ashy silver male. Quietly she picked her way over to him. Within her own family members it was not a secret how she felt for him. But there were many more here and she didn't care to explain it to strangers, ally or not. Her head dropped down to softly nudge against his chest. It was a gentle touch, likely not enough to wake him, then she turned and slipped away, unwilling to disturb his sleep. It was a short walk to the stream and the hunter moved leisurely, letting the sun and the walk ease away the stiffness. In the dark of night the group of wolves had teamed up and set their sights on the aged bison. The only faces she'd recognized were Koda, Enoki, and Renier. They had worked well together, considering she'd only ever hunted with Koda before. It didn't take very long before the lingering effects of the bison hunt faded away. The sun was coming out in force and she idly wandered along the creek, feeling the sun on her back and listening to rousing wolves in the distance. RE: feast fit for the kings - Narimé - Nov 20, 2014 PPing Titan and Xetor cause I will post them later after school and work [dohtml]
RE: feast fit for the kings - Xetor - Nov 20, 2014 I will not be ashamed if Tor might get into trouble at some point during this thread [dohtml]
Xetor could not have been more happy with how extended his belly looked right now. The bison meat had been fabulous, and the company was not all bad. He was always ready to serve Elettra as she was his family and leader, but there were plenty of other more tasteful woman there to hang around too. His gray and amber eyes danced over the resting forms of each member from the hunting party. Ignoring the males unless they tried anything with him, Tor had focused on socializing with the other females. He seemed to get along better with them anyway.
There wer plenty of women to steal a look at, and while Xetor did not approve of the way he seemed to be following his fathers pawsteps when it came to the ladies; he didn't necessarily care either. He didn't trust anyone fully to commit to him anyway, so why not flirt around and see who might be interested.
The dark Archer steals a glance at Iopah, looking over her coat as the she wolf makes her way towards him and the others. Her coat was a rather nice one with creme, tan, and gray hues shading together nicely over her lean body. However her age put him off a bit. Older woman tended to try and dominate him which Xetor certainly didn't appreciate.
His wandering gaze spotted another silver female also looking towards Iopah. She was certainly an exotic one, with blue eyes and a coat untouched by the red and cream hues that so many wolves held. However if he remembered correctly that woman was an alpha who likely had some form of mate nearby. Tor definitely didn't want to piss off an angry mate by flirting with her. Even if she was a bit closer in age to him and rather pretty.
Tor then glanced to where Enoki's form was. He didn't favor darker females as the male was so used to seeing them. However as he watched her a bit of worry creased Tor's brow when he spotted her slight limp. Both Titan and he had helped out those who had injuries earlier, but Xetor must have somehow missed the Ashrelle woman. Or perhaps she hadn't been hurting earlier. Sometimes sprains and bruises didn't hurt until the next day. That made spotting the injuries a bit hard for an experienced healer.
Huffing as the Archer brought himself to his paws, Xetor then shook out his coat and began to stroll over towards Enoki. If he had to, Tor would send out Titan to search for herbs to help her out. That was only if the injury was bad enough to need herbs.
"Lemme see that leg of yours." Tor spoke gruffly as he approached the dark she wolf with his eyes trained on her limp. [/dohtml] RE: feast fit for the kings - Enoki - Nov 20, 2014 [dohtml] A gruff voice caught the piebald she-wolf's attention as her ear closest to the source gave a small twitch, turning her head to glance at who was addressing her. Her amber gaze settled on the familiar Archer pelt belonging to the second male, Xetor. It was only a matter of time until she ran into the flirtatious man and it took everything not to roll her eyes as he approached even if he was only interested in checking out her minor injury being a healer and all. Then again he checked out anything that moved, especially a female. But with the many wolves and injuries that had been received yesterday she had managed to slip inspection from the healers that busied themselves attending to the wounds. Pausing her steps and favoring her right leg by lifting it from touching the ground fully she waved her tail briefly in greeting. "It's just a scratch and some bruising. Nothing serious, @Xetor. A little rest and taking it easy should take care of it." Enoki didn't know a lick about the art of healers, but she did know her body and a bruise was nothing new to the Ashrelle woman. She had earned many in her days as a loner. Now the bruise was one thing, but that cut was another. Cuts were far and few between during her years as a loner. With the flesh exposed the way it was she was prone to infection and that was something she didn't know how to care for. Perhaps it would be best to have him check it out anyways, it couldn't hurt right? "But since it's your job to check out injuries ill let you give it a poke." A soft chuckle fell from her lips, shifting her weight to make it easier for the swarthy pelted male to examine her leg. The sooner he could finish his work the sooner she could grab a bite to eat. All that running yesterday had really worked up one hell of an appetite and that bison meat was screaming out her name. She could almost taste that sweet, tender meat now, but first she had to get through her doctors appointment. RE: feast fit for the kings - Mordacai - Nov 23, 2014 [dohtml] Mordacai glared as Xetor made his way over to Enoki. Xetor wasn't one of his favorite wolves in the Ridge at the moment and to see that male approaching his sister only increased Cai's disdain. He had hunted alone today, put out by the fact his sister had been in the group to take down the bison. He had wanted to take down the creature so that he could have claim over its meat, but now that his sister had been the one to do this he didn't feel right about taking the food. He would eat what he caught and nothing else. So while most of the other wolves slept on full bellies, Cai was content with the rabbit that had quenched his hunger but did not fill his stomach to the brim. He observed the other wolves and noticed Elettra making her way over towards two other female wolves that Cai assumed were the other leaders. He also noticed how one of those leaders was eyeing Titan and this caused Cai to also take in the sight of the dark yearling. He was lying by himself and this made Cai curious. Titan was nice enough, why was he all alone? Rather than spend his time worrying about his sister and glaring daggers at the dark male who had approached her, Cai trotted over to where Titan was laying down and gave a light woof to announce his presence. "Hey, I noticed that woman was staring at you." Cai gestured with his tail toward the gray she wolf with the light blue eyes who had been looking at Titan and gave the yearling a sly smile. "She a stalker of yours or what?" Cai asked in a conversational tone with a playful edge. RE: feast fit for the kings - Elettra - Nov 24, 2014 *wills more WC and SW members to arrive*
[dohtml]
If the members from the three allied packs were not still resting from a days worth of hunting, still out and about grabbing the last bit of meat, or clustered at the river side, they were here, lifting from their placements and awaking to a brand new morning and day of socializing and feasting. So far, only one of each other pack had caught Elettra's attention - the hunter from the Woodlands and of course, the large and striking Narime. So far, none of the Leaders spoke up for any introduction to this gathering and Elettra was yet still content to sit back and watch this all unfold before the eating portion began. As her members gathered and spoke to one another, Elettra made note to watch them, ears perked to hear them and take note of their skills over the last couple of days whilst traveling as a whole. Certainly, roles were to be placed on those who had done well and she was willing to announce them before everyone once things started moving along. For the time being, her children and her mate were out of eye's reach. Silently she bumps her shoulder to @Narimé, willing words from the otherwise rather talkative woman. "Quite the outcome we have here. I wish I could have been part of the Bison's take down." To her shame, she had missed it and instead had taken part in bringing the elk to the group and one of the geese clustered here, although she had to admit she had done more frightening the bird then actually catching it. That skill had gone more specifically to her sister, @Adele . [/dohtml]

RE: feast fit for the kings - Titan - Dec 02, 2014 XD totally forgot to post Titan to this. [dohtml] He hadn't exactly been ecstatic to see his mother again, but on the flip side Titan didn't realize that he had been missing her until he hunted along with Nari. However the large male would deny that fact if other wolves asked about it. Instead he kept himself away from her when their cooperation wasn't particularly needed.
A part from the constant presence of his mother, Titan had in fact had a good time. The whole affair was an extravagant one filled with socializing (which he loved to take part in), challenging hunts (which he also loved to try helping with), and near constant exploring. He felt completely at ease with the wolves around him. Especially since many were either friends, family, or pack.
The hunt was awesome. The dark lad had helped out with injuries when he was needed, but whenever the tall Thorben could he tried to hunt with everyone. He hadn't caught much of anything small the whole time, but Titan had helped with the larger prey items. He had an elk and the big bison under his belt after helping out the other more experienced hunters.
Tired after the hunts and games, Titan had found himself a nice spot away from everyone where he could just watch the others mingle for a while. The fact that he was actually enjoying being alone for once scared the black yearling a tad bit. He hoped his brothers lone wolf behavior wasn't rubbing off on him. However Titan was glad to have everyone around even if he wasn't socializing just yet. He had fallen asleep to the contented snores and geese songs while the birds flew southward during the night.
He woke to the sounds of paw steps and rustling leaves. Twitching to alertness, the dark male blinks back a lone tear as he wakes. With his front paws, Titan covers his muzzle for a moment. Then he wipes at his eyes and nose before slowly picking his head up and yawning. Most everyone was either asleep or laying down resting their bodies. His moist black nose twitches at the scent of bison, which brings back memories of his encounter with Iopah, Mordacai, Enoki, a bunch of other loners and the Thorn wolves. He wondered for a moment if that massive animal still had meat left on it or if scavengers had picked it clean. Certainly it would take longer for coyotes, wolves, bears, and birds to pick off 1000 pounds of meat right?
Those thoughts brought Titan's mind back to now as he looked around the landscape searching for danger. Nothing will attack us or go after our kills. Not with this many wolves around. He guessed while turning those dark blue eyes to the other wolves to see who was up and moving around. He spotted his mother looking towards him which made his fur tingle before Titan glanced away towards the willow wolves.
What is he... the dark lad scrunches up his face as he traces Xetor's curious but interested stare to his mother. Ewwww.. That's... No. Titan shook his head before sitting upwards and rolling his wide shoulders to crack them. His eyes were closed for a few moments as Titan woke himself further up.
Mordacai's voice spooked him a little. Titan had heard the paw steps coming towards him but he didn't know who was headed his way. He had kept his eyes closed hoping that it wasn't Xetor or Nari coming over to lurk over him. Relief flooded his features as Titan opened his eyes and glanced sideways at Mordacai.
The comment Mordacai let loose instantly brought a warning snarl to Titan's face. His features turned angry for a moment before he answered Mordacai in a low growl.
"She's my mother Mordacai..." Titan slowly remembered that Mordacai was way higher rank than he was and forced his muzzle flat again. Averting his gaze from the more dominant male, the Thorben looked towards Xetor as the second went to socialize with Enoki. "Aren't you more worried about that over there." Titan gestured to the Archer male as he looked at Enoki's leg. His voice was less agitated as Titan forced himself to calm down. So what if he thinks my mom is hot? Why should I care? Titan assumed that Mordacai's sly smile had been there not only for Titan but to show his interest in the boys mother. Titan had no clue whether Mordacai had meant his words to be taken that way or not. He was, a tad bit more dull than his genius brother Yuka. |
