RE: the future's bright and alarming - Kjors - Aug 29, 2015 [dohtml] Slowly, but surely, Davin was improving. His ability to follow instructions raised him quite a bit higher in the dragon's mind, expression nothing short of pleased as the youth tore into the first squirrel. It was clear he'd stayed put as requested, and now he ate with more vigor then one might expect from a wolf so horribly troubled by whatever he'd seen. Kjors sat next to the young male as he ate, offering a silent companionship and certainty of protection. Opting not to distract the loner, he allowed him to eat his second piece without distraction, and only then did the dragon settle upon his belly, allowing himself a languid yawn. This was not a wolf pretending to be worn – this was an exhaustion set as deep as his bones, a hunger threatening to eat the body up whole. He had no reason to fear Davin, not at this point. Glancing over his shoulder, he regarded the boy with only the empty socket where there was once an eye. "Good," he crooned, making sure the boy was aware he was doing as expected. The swarthy male's tail swished once, and he hummed softly, bobbing his head towards the forest floor. "Rest now, yes? Ye'll go t' Karina with a clear head, an' she'll…well, she's th' priestess, naw me. She'll understan'. She can make it better," Kjors decided, one ear flipping back. "Ah'll watch ya while y'sleep. An' then, we go." And that was that. He was not going to argue on the matter, if Davin wished to see the high priestess, he'd do as asked. |
