RE: the preacher's daughter - Darrah - Sep 13, 2015 [dohtml] Darrah quickly found the event growing far from comprehensible, appearing much like a hazed nightmare more and more as seconds flew by. Pack mates were appearing, everyone was screaming. He could of sworn someone told him to retreat alongside his siblings, but all sense was lost as he saw the hoof flying toward his little brother. Doing the only thing he could, the Tainn threw himself in front of the snowy pup. Pain traveled throughout his body, regretfully resulting in an anguished yelp. Even then was it hard to grasp onto reality. The yearling desperately tried to summon air into his lungs, though the action seemed to fail him. Growing dizzy, he attempted to access the situation, process a reasonable plan, but instead collapsed to the earthy floor beneath him. "g-go.." he whispered to his sister, who was seemingly having an even more difficult time deciphering fear from reason. 'I'm so.. worthless.. why now..' Even if it hurt, even if his body didn't want to allow him the necessary movement, Darrah had to be strong. Sahalie wasn't going anywhere otherwise, at least not as fast as needed. Though the raven heir couldn't quite blame her, after all how could she? The beast was like nothing he'd ever seen before, and even being at an older age he was terrified. Struggling, the prince managed to prop himself up. "C'mon..You're b-rother's right.. I-m coming t-too.." he forced a smile. "You'll both be safe.. I-f we g-o..." wincing, he began a few short steps toward them. "We'll go back to the den...... and the adults will han-dle this.." coughing now, he sternly nudged them along. One king, One crown. Darrah Tainn[/dohtml] RE: the preacher's daughter - Spieden - Sep 18, 2015 [dohtml] Spieden felt like little more than a fly buzzing around a moose's ass. The beast barely flinched as she dug her teeth into his hind ankle, her strong neck tensed as she tried to pull the giant cloven hoof out of it's firm contact with the ground. Spieden heard Drestig's deep voice emerge from the chaos, seeing a black blur of teeth and claws at the bull's head, distracting her as the massive hooves began to move. Having no time to wonder whether the moose really had been paying attention to her she released her grasp, scrabbling away to give herself some room between the unpredictable animal. Her eyes flicked towards the children, a nervous whine departing her lips as they were moving all too slowly for the situation. Sahalie and Drift looked scared out of their wits but at least unharmed, though Darrah's staggering spoke to something unwell. Spieden then looked back to the moose, currently cornered against a tree. Then back to the kids. Then the moose again. The kids. The moose. Fucking moose! Spieden growled, lunging for the red blaze Serach had already torn in the moose's shoulder. Her teeth sank into open flesh and as her weight pulled downward the wound deepened, blood flooding over her tongue. The moose bellowed, his massive ribcage jerking with breath beneath Spieden's hold. She quickly dropped down and retreated from the swinging antlers, running to stand beside Drestig before turning again to face the moose. RE: the preacher's daughter - Serach - Sep 22, 2015 There was nothing but chaos all around. He could hear the sounds of his packmates yelling over the frantic bleats of the moose and Serach's own snarls. He had no idea where any of them were - his gold eyes were half-closed, blinded by the splatter of blood. He had clung on to dear life initially, hopefully distracting the moose long enough to allow Sahalie, Drift, and Darrah to get away. But he felt his grip loosen as the giant beast tried to rear up. Releasing his jaws from the moose's hide, he fell back to earth, shoved backwards roughly by the body mass of the wounded creature. Shuffling backwards, Serach fought hard to keep his footing. Falling now would almost certainly end in him being trampled to death, which was a sacrifice the boy wasn't quite willing to make to save his fellow packmates. RE: the preacher's daughter - Sahalie - Oct 07, 2015 SO. This will be maybe the final round, or maybe there will be another round after this. Tl;dr the moose is running away in this post. This is based on the fact that only Serach and Spieden were actively attacking the moose in the last round, so they will not be able to bring it down. (Also cause lol the moose has moved over here: x **Just a note here that you cannot claim demonstrate role: guardian here because it's a moose and not a wolf**

Her brother's poke did not register. Nothing registered until suddenly she felt more weight ram into her. She flinched, once more expecting the hoof of the beast and finding it to be her brother. Somehow she had gotten to her paws. Drift's nose shoved her onward, though where he had in mind she was not quite sure. The world was silent as her head twisted back to see if Darrah was coming with them. The starry-forehead wolf was on the ground now. His breathing was labored. Her eyes were wide. His mouth moved but she couldn't hear what he was saying. Determinedly she stared at the shape of his mouth, but another shove from Drift tore her eyes away. She took a step in the direction Drift wanted her to go.
Then there was a nudge from Darrah, who had gotten up after all.
With little else to do, she began to trot toward safety. Her limbs moved mechanically beneath her, and it felt like she had to think through every movement in order to see it carried out. Running was much more than she could manage. Her heart flinched at the realization that she did not even have the capacity to look back and make sure Spieden was okay. She was too afraid she would trip if she did not watch her paws.
(Fade into safety??)
- - - MOOSE CROSSING - - -
Satisfaction lit in his heart as he felt his hoof connect with the black wolf's chest.
But it was hard to be satisfied when there were still weaknesses on all sides. The tear in his shoulder only grew as he lifted himself off the ground, taking the wolf's weight with him. The wolf fell away, but it felt as if he were taking chunks of Gunthor with him. He felt his rump connect with the back of the tree. His ankle throbbed in sympathy. Now there was no more wolf attached to him to crush. It was somewhere else now. His antlers swung about as he tried to find it.
The black ankle-biter, as soon as he spied it, immediately leaped up for the wound already opened in his shoulder by the white dog. He could not contain his screams of pain this time. His whole world throbbed and ached and bled. He threw his antlers around as if it would help. But nothing could distract from the pain. Through fuzzy eyes he thought he could see the white dog goading him. Or something. He lunged but did not attack. The moose's nostrils flared. Gunthor did not understand. All he knew was that he was in a bad place.
He braced himself, drawing on every store of energy left to him. Several moments past and he did not move. Tension was rising in his muscles as his weight rocked back to his hind quarters. He felt the teeth of the black ankle-biter release him. This was his moment.
A tremendous bugle left his throat as he charged forwards, head down, aimed at the white dog. The great bellow was meant as a fear tactic to drive the white dog away. At any rate, he did not intend to hit him. Several feet before the white dog he altered his course ever so slightly, racing past the curr to seek the safety of the forest. He was going to get out of here if it was the last thing he did. This forest was no longer his.
(Moose out. Feel free to chase tho.)
also tl;dr: speiden's attack to the shoulder was a hit. Gunthor ran away past Serach. RE: the preacher's daughter - Drestig - Oct 09, 2015 Sorry again guys, hope this is aright, otherwise just tell me and I'll edit ^^

RE: the preacher's daughter - Spieden - Oct 16, 2015 [dohtml] A metallic tinge flooded her mouth as moose blood dribbled thin with saliva down her chin beneath bared fangs. An earth shaking bellow left the beast as Spieden watched it surge forward, trampling hooves sending the behemoth towards Serach. Spieden's now weary limbs lurched into motion as if she might manage to do something, perhaps push or shove or otherwise push the rampaging animal off a crash course. Fortunately the moose seemed to have had enough of trampling her packmates and veered off from the Donata male at the last moment. Drestig was shouting to keep after it but not attack, but Spieden didn't need the warning. Simply getting the bear-killer out of her land would be enough of a victory. Spieden loped foward beside Drestig, moving as quickly as her heavy-set frame would allow and determinedly focused on the moose's trail. She did not move too close, lingering far enough behind that she would be safe from kicking hooves yet close enough that her presence would herd the moose onward. As her energy faded, she dropped to a tired lope. She slowed as she neared the border, coming to a stop and panting heavily as she watched the moose continue crash through the woods as if hell itself was on his heels. And just like that, he was gone. RE: the preacher's daughter - Serach - Oct 17, 2015 Quote:I'll archive this thread on 10/23 since I believe it is finished. Remember, if you want LP for the thread, you'll need to have posted at least 3 times. Leaping forwards, backwards, and side to side, Serach continued to lunge at the moose, his teeth clicking together in a threatening metallic snap every time they came together. He could see the rage and the fear in the moose's eyes, but the beast refused to move although it was crying out in agony and bleeding profusely. But Serach did not let up; he was determined to get the moose away from the tree so the pack could finish the job and bring the beast down. Serach exit/fade to safety/assume he went to find the rest of the pack. RE: the preacher's daughter - Darrah - Oct 23, 2015 Sorry if I power-played a bit, I can fix anything if there's a problem Dx!
[dohtml]Thankfully, Darrah's siblings were able to comprehend his words even under such chaotic circumstances. As they made their exit, the raven-esque prince limped after them. He'd look toward his piers occasionally, but only for a few brief moments at a time. 'They'll be alright..' he had to keep reminding himself. After all, they weren't the ones who would up injured, he was. 'Heh, Maybe I'm pretty useless after all...' Reassurance was important, especially given the despair that played across his youngest sisters face. The event was traumatizing, even to him! Darrah couldn't blame the pups for being terrified. "They're gonna be f-fine.." he winced through faltered steps. "Sp-ieden's probably gonna..." more pain, he tried desperately not to halt his words, not to worry them more, but at this point what the yearling really needed was to rest."Probably gonna kill the damn thing, that'll feed us for a looonng time.." he forged a smile, nudging at their small frames. "W-th winter coming, the beast'll do us some good." not that they understood the concept of seasonal change yet, though thinking about the months to come certainly did take his mind off the injury a bit. After deciding they've made it far enough, Darrah collapsed. "Now we just gotta wait it out." He sighed, motioning for his siblings to come rest with him. FADE I curse the blue skies. Darrah Tainn[/dohtml] RE: the preacher's daughter - Drestig - Oct 23, 2015 I think this is ready to be archived. If Shadow hasn't already, I'll do it tomorrow.
