RE: What a catch - Morganna - Oct 18, 2015

Confusion darted across her face when he said he would be damned, his explanation after the fact bringing an easy smile to her face. “Well then yer practically family already then aren’t yer?” she teased, even more relaxed with the stranger after the sudden revelation than she had been before. She could not see the offer of fresh fish being turned away, nor one who was willing and able to provide it on a regular basis.

She nodded her agreement and looked to the moon still hanging high overhead. “We might be better holdin’ off fer a few more hours. We can get there by sun-up instead o’ draggin’ anyone outta bed.” she spoke out loud, no doubt the pups were running @Angier and @Elettra into the ground with their recent explorations and the last thing she wanted was for poor Pickerel to be mistaken as a threat to herself and encounter @Skoll under the cover of darkness without wearing one of the leaders scents. The weather was still mild enough to sleep out in the open, if a little on the chilly side, and she certainly planned on grabbing a few winks before her journey home.

She moved to settle herself close enough to the fish to deter other predators (though not close enough that the scent might rub off on her) and tilted her head to her companion, wordlessly inviting him to occupy the empty space at her back before she lowered her chin to the cool earth.

Despite her failed attempts at fishing it had turned out to be a lovely night after all.

RE: What a catch - Pickerel - Oct 20, 2015

[[ooc; I'm gonna fade here unless you want to get another post in. Following up I'll make a thread in the pack joining section if Morg wants to peek in. He'll just be following her back. Don't want him losing more points for being a loner!]]

The amber pelted one smiles whole-heartedly now. He was excited. Oh, if only his father could see where he'd made it to.
He lowers his head for a second, taking a moment to appreciate his good fortune. Looking back up, he slowly
nods his head in agreement to Morganna's words. His mind was currently whirling with many different thoughts:
he wanted to meet Elettra, he wanted to prove himself, he wanted to fish more... he needed to turn his mind off.
"Sounds good ta' me." He says now, gruff voice rumbling in his barrel-like chest. Pickerel watches in
silence as Morg takes her place next to the fish. She kept space between herself and the mini-cache; Pike
figured he'd fill that space. He pads over quietly, his lids now drooping. The fight with the carp had left him quite
a bit tired. "Damn fish took the energy outta me." He says softly, a slight titter erupting from his throat.

He does a circle in place before settling, his back lightly touching Morg's. He didn't want to be too much in her
personal space, but warmth was needed in this slight chill. The odor of the fish tingles his nose; he
wasn't bothered by it at all. He'd lived in a small den with his father where they'd have a consistent pile of
fish. If anything, the odor was slightly comforting in an odd way. The stars twinkle above, overwatching
the wolves as they take to resting for a few hours.

The muggy scent of the lagoon lulls him to sleep. His dreams won't be remembered, but he will awaken with pep
in his step. He finally had a place to call home.
