RE: flesh & bone - Serach - May 10, 2016 I suck. That is all. We could probably wrap this up with your post if you want?
Instinctively, Serach's mouth opened as his body hit the water, gasping as he was submerged into the cold liquid. His eyes burned as he blinked furiously, trying to keep them open so he could keep sight of the beaver. But it was futile - this was not a wolf's domain and they both knew it. Kicking his legs angrily, the Bend subordinate pushed himself to the surface, spitting up water as he fought for his first breath of fresh air. The beaver was not kind enough to let him go, his large dull teeth digging into Serach's thigh, pulling him back under again. Why did you have to be so stupid? his brain screamed at him, as once again he parted his lips and attempted to at least look like he was snarling under water. RE: flesh & bone - Sahalie - Jun 04, 2016 Her teeth worked hard on her lips as she watched Serach fall in and then abruptly bob to the surface. Her eyes darted back and forth between her packmate and the beaver. It was clear that despite his enthusiasm for beaver hunting, swimming was not Serach's strong suit in the same was as it was the beaver's. It had grabbed ahold of his back end with those terrifying teeth, hindering the pale wolf's swimming abilities immensely. "Serach!" she cried, feeling utterly helpless as she paced the bank and the tussle unfolded. Somehow Serach had the strength in him to pull against the massive beaver's weight enough to get to the shore, and the girl raced to his side. She had intended to grab the slippery bastard and yank it off Serach's thigh, killing it or something, but by the time she arrived it had already given up and was waddling back into the water. Her eyes narrowed as it's rump wiggled into the water, her paws dangling in front of her as if to go after it. Serach's voice tore her away though. He seemed in a bad way, though he was trying to smile through the evident pain. Some blood was running freely down his leg and her eyebrows creased with worry. She opened her mouth to say sorry but only made a croaking noise. If only she had been a better hunting partner then perhaps the whole thing would not have been such a failure. Serach had been doing his best, but Sahalie had only made a mess and gotten in the way. Her tail wrapped around her shamefully uninjured legs. "Come on, we'll find someone to look at that leg," was all that she could manage, as she brushed up against his still-sodden pelt in a gesture of sympathy. |
