RE: alliance with a stranger - Wraith - Mar 16, 2016

Dark ears fell farther forward with interest as the outsider mentioned pack events. An allying pack then, Wraith surmised. Then absolutely a friendly visit. The mention of distance had the subordinate nodding with understanding. Traversing a great span with only news was no easy feat and likely more exhausting even then that same distance traveled while tracking prey down. A weary traveler and friend of the pack deserved more hospitality than an intimidating greeting with numbers. While it was unusual for the northerner to draw attention to himself in such a crowd, he felt honor-bound to bring up his thoughts.

"If I may, I wouldn't mind fetching something for our visitor to eat." His voice rumbled out like distant thunder while he bowed his head politely towards @Morganna. When he lifted it, his amber eyes flicked towards @Bane and he smiled kindly. "I imagine you're tired with such a long journey." Though Wraith hadn't an inkling of where the mentioned Woodlands were, he could only guess it was a bit of a trek from the Willows considering the black wolf's own ventures away from pack territory were becoming quite extensive.

The brute's gaze then moved to @Greer, the lifting of his brows a silent question if the lad would care to join him on a quick hunt. It was clear that no danger lay here and they might as well make themselves more useful.

RE: alliance with a stranger - Bane - Apr 05, 2016

It wasn't long until Bane found out why he had been greeted by whom he had originally expected. Elettra had injured herself over winter and now (given by the woman's words) her daughter was taking her place until she was well, or so he assumed by the terms 'filling in for her'. It was prime information he would have to give back to his Leaders. Knowing the shift of balance, he would be left to wonder just how long it might last. "Oh, no need." He speaks on behalf of Morganna suggesting that she lead him personally to Elettra herself. Perhaps Nina or Miccah would have preferred him speak to Angier or Elettra, though given the fact that Morganna was filling in her mother's prints, she was just as good to speak with.

Before he began, one of the dark colored men spoke up, suggesting that he would get him something to eat, granted how tired and hungry he might have been from such a long trek. It was true. Bane had made an appoint to keep well hydrated, stopping to drink every change he had when any water source came his way, though he had done little on part of eating. ""Yes, thank you." He speaks ever politely to the other wolf, offering a small wave of his tail and then turning his attention back to the lady. "As you may have noticed, Whisper Caverns has disbanded. I am uncertain if the remaining members came this way to inform you... however, Narime and her family now live safely within our boarder." He pauses a moment, already speaking out loud more then he preferred. He was uncomfortable speaking before a group, even though it had dwindled with those going off to grab him something to eat. "Mirren has long left his leadership, in search of his mate. Miccah has since then taken up his placement and plans to stay. In fact," He pauses once more, taking a deep breath as he shifts his deep burnt orange eyes towards Nicolo, then continuing back to Morganna. "Come spring Nina will be stepping down so that Miccah's mate, Aideen, may lead with him." It was not much to say, really. Just one major change in leadership. Surely their allies leading pairs would have to meet face to face at some point in time. Bane could only hope that they would get along as well as the leaders before them.

@Greer's bump was met with a small shove of her own, the movement enough to remove the last tension from her muscles, his silent message clear. @Wraith was the next to speak, offering the scout a meal - it was, after all the least they could do. While she would much rather Wraith and Greer stay close, there was no denying the logic in his request, a small silent smirk played out in her mind only as Wraith made his allegiances clear by deferring to her only. Good. Show him just how high the chances of his treasonous plot playing out would be. If he planned on ruling here without her, she would make sure he would be left ruling over little more than leaves and dirt.

"Certainly," she answered Wraith with an easy smile, certain now that their company was less than hostile there was no need to keep him here to listen to boring recounts of deeds long done. Their winter hunt had never eventuated, both families grieving for lost lives. Perhaps when spring was truly upon them and new life bought forth on both counts they could reschedule.

Mention of Whisper Caverns was not lost on her. "We'd noticed 'em gone but no word came our way. I know mother'll be relieved ter hear no harm came to them." her statement sincere. She had heard mention of Mirren leading from Nios (although their relationship still eluded her), and mention of a missing mate only left the coppery taste of Piety's bloody ear lingering on her tongue. That his successor planned on remaining caught her interest, just as rapidly lost at the mention of Nina stepping down. That was not how things would play out here. "Then it's probably worth our time ter reschedule that hunt, an' get better acquainted again." she suggested with a smile.

"We can discuss the details once yer've had some rest, until then, I'll introduce yer to mother. I'm sure she has questions ter ask and news of her own ter share. If yer'd like ter come this way?" she motioned with a turn of her head back towards the den. Wraith would know where to find them when he was done with his hunt and the woodlands wolf could rest easily under the protection of a clearly formidable pack. She would stay close and listen in to her mothers conversation of course, on hand to add her own gleanings from the scouting she had managed to carry out between all her other duties.

RE: alliance with a stranger - Greer - May 05, 2016

slight pp (i think?) @Wraith <3 this is Greer's exit post!

[dohtml]

Greer was truly uninterested in why the stranger was lingering at the edge of their territory. He was here as back-up — both against the Woodlands wolf and his uncle. The older Archer had remained quiet after arriving, which troubled the shadow. There was something unsettling about his presence, as always, but he could not allow his discomfort to show.

Quickly dismissing his thoughts with a flick of his tail, the silver-eyed boy glanced over at Wraith as he mentioned catching something for the visitor to eat. His upper lip curled at the comment, but Greer knew it was the respectable thing to do. The older male’s gaze fell to Greer in invitation to join him, causing his toes to curl into the dirt. As much as he did not want to leave his sister’s side, Greer knew that Morganna was in no immediate danger. Reluctantly, he dipped his head to accept Wraith’s invitation and stepped aside, his silver eyes focused on his sister for a moment for turning away. He was not one for formalities and he did not care about being present as the stranger delivered his news. The shadow would get a recap from his sister later, when they were not surrounded by a crowd.

Before sprinting off into the trees, the slender Archer bumped Wraith’s shoulder to show he was ready to hunt. He could hear the Woodlands wolf mention the disbandment of the Caverns pack, but the stranger’s voice was quickly disappeared the further he and Wraith went.

Wraith's exit. <3

[dohtml]

Pleased with @Bane's polite reply and @Morganna's leave to go, Wraith bowed to first his Alpha and then to the envoy from the other pack. As @Nicolò had offered nothing in Wraith's opinion as an Alpha should, the black male only offered a polite nod that lacked the formality he'd shown the other wolves. Catching @Greer's nod, the black wolf wagged his tail, pleased to have the boy's help. As the lad's shoulder bumped with his own, the northerner laughed and nipped adoringly at his ear.

He had little interest in politics between the packs either, though he felt he probably should have shown some amount of interest. As a recent addition, it was hard to muster up even the slightest inkling of what was going on. The best he could offer was the assistance he was currently providing. Sticking around would likely only result in him saying something he shouldn't and straining relations between the packs.

Wraith ran on, encouraging Greer into a race to the hunting lands to the south of Willow Ridge territory. The brute had found some fondness for the pretty open fields there and prey was almost always plentiful. Perhaps the pair of them could find an inexperienced deer and take it on their own. Otherwise, the smaller prey would suit them just fine and probably be a better offering for their visitor as he'd not have to compete with the rest of the pack over a large carcass.
