RE: the great backyard - Lorcan - Jan 24, 2017 [dohtml] Teacher demonstration 3/3 Lorcan watched @Piety and smiled at the small sense of pride he felt swelling in his chest. It was nice to share his knowledge about plants with someone else who really seemed to care about their properties just as much as he did. The fact that she was a fellow and trusted pack member only made the experience all the more fulfilling. Each time the white coated female repeated his words to engrave them in her mind, the agouti healer nodded with confirmation and offered her an encouraging sway of his tail in response. [/dohtml]
When she questioned him about the potential negative side effects of goldenrod, Lorcan had to stop and ponder of it. His golden eyes shifted to gaze into the corner of his vision and his white brows frowned in recollection. Slowly, the healer began to shake his head, the answer lingering on the tip of his tongue as he mentally checked and double-checked before finally voicing his answer. “No, not that I am aware of.” He finally stated, before offering her a confident smile. Glancing back down to the pile plants, Lorcan then teased out a third plant. This one also had yellow flowers, except the flowers were tiny and formed into rounded bulbs atop a much shorter stem, which was adorned with almost needle looking leaves. He pushed it towards Piety with his nose. “This is Pineapple weed. It’s also very common and can help with other common ailments such as infected wounds and digestive issues.” He stated, glancing across to the female. “If you need to treat a wound and can’t find any Goldenrod, this plant can help prevent infection until you are able to find Goldenrod or apply another plant to the wound.” He added, hoping she would find his tip useful. The pale female nodded her head. "Ah, okay. Good to know." She smiled and let her tail sway happily behind her. Piety appreciated @Lorcan not getting frustrated with her questions. He was a rather good medic. A good teacher too, she decided. This seemed to be going rather well. There wasn't anything that seemed extremely hard to remember. Arnica, Goldenrod, and now Pineapple weed. What was a Pineapple? She pondered momentarily before Lorcan began his lesson on that plants. "Oh," She mused softly as she lightly nudged the plant. The third plant had yellow flowers, but these flowers were very small and became rounded bulbs on top of a much shorter stem. Not to mention it had needle looking leaves. It would be hard to forget about something so funky looking. "Infected wounds, digestive issues." She mused softly again. Her good ear perked at his other word of advice. It could be used in place of Goldenrod and other plants. "This has all been really helpful, Lorcan. Thank you." She turned to plant a soft kiss on his cheek. "I think that's enough for today, though." She giggled softly. "I'm gonna go for a patrol if you care to join." Piety brushed against Lorcan before heading out. -Pi exit- RE: the great backyard - Lorcan - Feb 13, 2017 [dohtml] Lorcan nodded along to reassure the pale female as she verbally recited the main snippets of information. Black tipped tail swayed gently behind him as he listened to her voice and a soft smile was fixed firmly upon his charcoal lips. It was nice to share his knowledge with someone. He had never once imagined that one day a pack mate would come to him for information and advice. He felt his chest swell with pride; perhaps this was a sign that he was finally heading up in the word. Oh if his family could see him now. [/dohtml]
The healer dipped his chin bashfully, cheeks blushing warm as his friend thanked him. “You’re welcome.” He replied warmly before she moved in to plant a delicate kiss on his cheek. He blushed some more, before nodding that it was time to end the teaching session there. There was only so much new knowledge a wolf could take in at once. Turning back to his precious herbs that were scattered on the ground, he carefully nosed them back into the medicinal cache before turning around to re-cover them with dirt and debris. Turning back to Piety, he was delighted when she offered him the chance to join her in a patrol. He remained still for a moment, allowing her to brush against him as she stepped past. “Sure.” He breathed, traipsing after her to playfully nip at her side. -Lorcan exit- |
