Lilya did not seem keen to discuss more on the topic as to how well she had lead – Kisla had never witnessed such insecurity in another, and she studied the woman, not only intrigued to why she felt so down upon herself, and saddened by it – the girl was a closed book, and for now, it would seem she remain as such. When the tawny girl thanked her, Kisla felt the hint of a small smile twitch at the corner of her lips – Lilya did not even realize it was Kisla who should have been thanking her – not the other way around. “You’ve held this pack together – you and Lachesis. Thank you,” she offered after the girl made to take her leave.

She did not stop her, but as Lilya went to seek out the pack’s healer, she watched her go with mild curiosity. Releasing a gentle breath, she turned then, her own paws carrying her to the river which remained the namesake of their home. It felt so long ago that she and Maksim had come upon it – had dug the den to which she had birthed their final litter together. Now, after some time to heal herself, she would focus on bridging Hearthwood River once more to its glory – a pack of familial values.
