RE: thought this could be paradise (M) - Kerberos - May 05, 2017 [dohtml] He had always been emotional. So when Maera agreed for their child to take his last name and she take it too soft sobs took over him. Of course, it was all from happiness and love. He returned her kisses eagerly when she lifted his head up. All he wanted to do was protect and embrace the two most important females in his life. So that's what he would vow to do. He had protected (and been protected by) Maera since the beginning and now he had the true pleasure of getting to protect her and Little Lacey. His nose gently ran over the small fluffball, also known as his daughter. He couldn't stop the smiles and warming of his face as she gave a few protesting sounds. "Okay okay, little one. I'll let you feed and rest." He pulled back hand settled his head on Maera's neck. The new father had no want to disrupt Lacey. He wanted her transition from the womb to the world to be as smooth as possible. It was lucky that it had already gone so smooth. There were no stillborns like the elders had told him of or even complications in the actual birthing process. "You should get some sleep. You did good but that couldn't have been easy." He smiled softly and nuzzled into her scruff. Kerberos would never understand the pain of birthing but from what he had just seen it was no walk through the Wildwood. RE: thought this could be paradise (M) - Maera - May 05, 2017 [dohtml] She was more grateful for him than he probably realized, she determined. He reminded her to show emotion at times, to be a wolf rather than some soulless creature focused on survival the entire time. He was, in essence, her humanity. He could calm her down with a few soothing words or a few soft nudges. He could listen when she just needed to talk… and he was everything she never realized she needed until she already had it. The way he interacted with his, their, daughter just proved he was going to be an amazing father. It was another reason for her to grin. He settled in beside her, his head on her neck and she settled into his presence, feeling safety in him that she never had truly felt anywhere else. He was the one wolf she could trust to always have her back, no matter what… their backs now, she had to remind herself. He wasn’t the only one to look out for anymore… they both had a daughter who would need their care and protection, and she was eager to take the task. She yawned softly as he encouraged her to get some sleep. “Will you stay w--.” She found herself drifting off to sleep, unable to even finish her sentence before she was resting in a peaceful slumber, surrounded by the wolves who meant the most to her. -Fade- |
