Craning his head forward, Serach's ears strained to hear every single whimper and sound that his newborn children made. But as much as he desired to wiggle in closer, his instinct for self-preservation was keeping him at bay. The smile on Aponi's face was enough to reaffirm to him that it was the correct choice and, perhaps more importantly, his request to name their only son after his parents was accepted. Two done, one left to go; a countdown that in and of itself had its own thrill. Listening quietly to Aponi's story, he nodded along and followed her blue gaze to look upon his youngest daughter. Chuckling as she finished, he turned back to look at her with nothing but love and admiration in his eyes. "Ayla, of the oak trees. It's perfect. They're all perfect," he confirmed. And just like that, they had made their first choice as parents that would have an impact on their children's lives forever.

A few minutes longer and the rise and fall of Aponi's chest slowed to a regular rhythm as sleep took her. As tempted as Serach was to stay in the den entrance forever, he could feel the anxious looks of his packmates behind him, all wondering what had exactly transpired. Slowly he wiggled backwards until he emerged fully from the den. Blinking a few times, he adjusted to the sunlight before turning to face his packmates with a grin on his face. Flopping down on his stomach in front of the entrance, he looked to all of them as he proudly announced the results of Aponi's labor. "Two daughters, Mabel and Ayla. And one son, Corsair," he said the last with a particular pride and looked to his father and son's namesake with a twinkle in his eye.
