Reyes leaned into his partner’s weight, twisting his neck to natter against his shoulder blades. If it were any other wolf, it might be called a nervous tick – but Reyes would never have such a thing. He took a moment or two of thought before he continued. “Yeah. Wouldn’t agree to it if I thought it was gonna go south. ‘sides. Not so young and stupid anymore. Wouldn’t pick up the same kind of wolf.”

He liked to think he could recognize trouble now, and that he had the life experience to stop those things before they started. Not that it would start with their current group.
