It was pure luck that Elyan had been with him when the strangers showed up at the notch borders. It was the perfect opportunity for his son to learn something about guests at the border. Even more that he could learn something about accepting new wolves into the pack. The pale leader hoped the one day Elyan would take the notch over and and continue it in into the future. If he was going to do that he would have to know what to do in the case of a wolf wanting to join.

He listened as the male spoke and then stopped which caused the Myrddin's brow to raise curiously. He'd taken noticed the gifts that had been brought and the politeness that was showed. Icy eyes slid from the male to the female as he finished speaking or it seemed he had. Emrys’ guess had been right as the female picked up where the male left off. The alpha glanced down at his son to see his reaction to the pair.

It was easy for a wolf to come to the border and say they wanted to join. He'd seen it many times but it was also easy for them to take their leave when things got too tough, he'd seen that too.

“If I allow you acceptance into this pack you must be sure that it is what you want. Many wolves have stood where you are now and asked the same only to stay a few months, get their strength back and take what they wanted before leaving this pack. If that is your intention then you can turn and go with your gifts but if you want to stay and contribute then I appreciate your gifts and we can go from there.”

He wasn't ready to say that they were welcome among the firs until he heard what they had to say.

His father had made it clear what he was suppose to be doing while they spoke with the wolves at the border. The agouti pup watched the two wolves. He took notice of the gifts and they way they held themselves. His mismatched gaze went to his father to see what he thought. As the pup listened to the wolves speak he thought it odd. He'd never heard another wolf talk like that.

His father spoke when they had finished asking him to accept them into the pack. Elyan wondered what his father would do. Would he let them be a part of the pack or send them away. The child couldn't help but agree with the things that his father had said. It was unfair to the notch when wolves left for no reason. He couldn't help but wonder as he let his eyes drift back to the wolves of they were the same or better.

Once his father finished he waited at his side to see what their visitors had to say about it.
