The hunt was underway and going as planned. She could smell the goats ahead, their stench made her stomach growl with anticipation as wide eyes scanned the line for one that was worthy of chasing. She waited with patience, watching each footfall, each sway of its tail, each flick of its ears, until--something was off and immediately she had found her target. Her ears pinned backward, tail held straight behind her as she crept and when she felt she was within considerable distance she gave chase and maintained a steady pace behind her target; a young goat with miniature horns.

She pushed the goat closer to the larger males in wait, pursing and scaring it so that it would maintain its speed and not attempt to divert from the path she had planned. When she sensed that she had traveled close enough to her comrades she woofed, a sign that she was ready for their bulk and she waited for them to intercept, her lungs filling and exhaling air quickly. The thrill of the chase kept her going but she was mindful of Solas' idea and would leave it up to the male to force the goat into a water source where they could trap and consume it.

She felt her speed slow down, watching as both males took their position and started after the unfortunate goat. She knew that with their bulk it wouldn't take long before the goat would tire out and slow down so that they could begin to devour it, they just had to keep pushing it. She felt the presence of Solas at her side, his dark pelt gave him the resemblance of a shadow as he chased down the goat but the prey had other ideas and turned off in a different direction. It was something she had anticipated and immediately picked up her speed, being smaller than the males she was quick to bypass them as nipped at the heels of the goat until it veered in the appropriate direction. She was growing tired of this chasing game and thought to attack it, the more injuries it endured would help to bleed it out and she was ready for the fight that would ensue.

She pushed herself until she had come to the flank of the goat and snapped at the legs, wanting to both trip it and scare it to a better position where they could devour it slowly. She looked behind her, noticing both males and waited for them to do the same as she had, it would ensure that the goat would be dead soon.

The goat, frantic with so many wolves chasing after it, had tripped so easily down the mountainside and struggled to move much more afterward. A combination of exhaustion and fright sent it into a shock that made it easy for Bastet to come onto it and latch onto a leg with as much force as a bullet, blood spilled from its wound easily. She knew that eventually the rest of her hunting partners would be near soon so she made enough room for them to take a few bites for themselves, it didn't take long for the goat to die, probably seconds after she tore into its flank and without missing a beat she began to tore off flesh and eat some of the meat for herself. She figured that they had earned this meal, the chase had not been easy for them and what remained they could take back to the rest of the pack for the caches.
