His eyes darted to and fro, trying to spot the white wolf within the white snow. A light snowfall had started whilst he’d been trekking back and he’d half expected the older lady to have vanished as quickly as she had appeared. She hadn’t though, his grey gaze landed on her terribly conditioned body to find she lay there, quite still. His first thought was that she had died, he’d taken too long to get back to her, but then he saw the rise and fall of her spine with each breath she took. Thank fuck for that. he thought to himself as he picked up the pace. When he was closer, but not close enough to make himself or her feel uncomfortable, he tossed his head and the remains towards her.

”I can find more... Its snowing now so it might be tricky but if you want it, I will find you more?” he asked, not really waiting for an answer before he turned and slipped back into the forest. He assumed she’d eat and wait for more and he would keep bringing it to her if she needed it. He couldn’t stand to see the wolf suffer. His heart wouldn’t allow it and teamed with his mind that was currently trying to convince him that the wolf could be his lost mother, he had little choice but to obey the pair and head out back into the snow, which had started to fall a little heavier and faster by this time, and find her something more to eat. Of course, it was almost a hopeless task. Animals were hibernating and those that weren’t would be taking shelter from the storm... but she needed food and he would provide it.

His form continued into the forest until his dark pelt melted into the shadows.
