RE: i can take so much, until i've had enough - Ravenna - Dec 15, 2017
Medic 2/3
Sven had offered her a simple 'no' to her answer, which was really all he might have been able to get out, as the wolf began to stir, his nose twitching first instinctively to the smell of food. Panic then set in when he realized he was no longer alone here. He scrambled, kicked about an though to push the unknown offender away from him although with little energy, found himself quickly unable to get away and do instead displayed himself submissively before his 'captors'. Sven backed off and Ravenna did the same, keeping her distance should the man change his tone again and snap as a last will for survival. Soon, Adeltra made her way back, settling the fun down at her feet and speaking to the wolf, trying to calm him. The youngest and smallest of the group (at least until she fully grew), she was likely the best to speak to the man, though Ravenna couldn't help but tense, protective of the girl and worrisome for her safety. She remained silent even as Leotie made her return, backing up Adeltra's plea as she settled down the mushrooms close to her leader. Ravenna's nose dipped in a silent thanks, keeping ever silent as she watched her subordinates work. She couldn't help but be proud, happy. Without hesitation, without question or back talk, the wolves of her pack worked together to get done what needed to be done. This wouldn't have worked either if they hadn't trusted her too, respected her. Maybe she wasn't half bad at this leadership thing after all. She couldn't help the smile on her face and the sudden wagging of her tail. After a few moments, Ravenna lifts the mushrooms into her mouth and arcs around Adeltra, easing down onto her stomach and inching forward to where she had settled down the muskrat. Dropping down the mushrooms, she noses them next to the kill and backs away there after to take her place back away from him. "Sven just wants to help keep you warm and Adeltra has brought a pelt too to lay over you, if you'd let her?" She pauses a moment before jutting Her nose to the rodent and fungus. "Something to eat and the mushrooms will help your blood flow and should boost your immune system." In his weakened state, she was unsure how much of that he would understand, but getting him warmed up and something to eat was at least a start. RE: i can take so much, until i've had enough - Lorcan - Dec 15, 2017 [dohtml]
Laying awkwardly in the snow, with his belly in the air and teeth bared in panicked submission, Lorcan felt immediately relieved the two strangers who had been hovering over him backed away. A fearful whine whistled up his throat as his golden eyes strained to focus on the two silver figures who were now eyeing him up from a safer distance further down the stony embankment. When they did not move to approach him again immediately Lorcan gave a few tentative sweeps of his tail against the snow, an indication that he intended the pair no harm; that his outburst only moments ago had been out of fear and not aggression.[/dohtml] RE: i can take so much, until i've had enough - Adeltra - Dec 18, 2017 Guardian dem 3/3
Everyone affirmed what she said and she felt her chest swell with appreciation for the others. They seemed to understand what she was doing and agreed that it was the best approach, holding their breath just as she was to see what his reaction would be. He was terrified and in such bad shape, who knew what was going through his head. His eyes connected with hers and she waited, wondering. His guard lowered and her tail wapped on the ground. Perfect! She was so happy that he was listening to them and she gave a victorious glance to the wolves around her. They made a pretty good team. She caught his name, Lorcán, and she nodded. “Well, it’s nice to meet you Lorcán,” she commented. She watched as he flinched back at Ravenna, something she couldn’t blame him for. The pale woman was certainly a sight to see, but knowing her she knew that there was nothing to worry about. He relaxed after a moment and took the mushrooms, the young girl watching him with gentle eyes. It brought up fond memories for her and she was glad to help. A thank you escaped his lips and she hummed in response as if to say “no problem”. Then, his eyes trailed back to hers and she took his invitation greedily. Picking up the pelt she was quick to move forward, draping it over his thin body. As her nose touched his body she felt how chilled it was and she frowned slightly. He couldn’t stay there any longer. She lifted her head and looked over to Ravenna. “Should we move him to the medical den?” she asked. Her attention moved back to Lorcán, “Sven’s definitely a big ball of warmth but maybe a den would be better to get you warmed up and protect you against the win. Can’t have us laying out here all night. Do you think you can stand? Sven and Rav can help if you need it, don’t be shy,” she said, giving the man an encouraging nudge to the shoulder. guardian dem 3/3, i'm good with whoever is last fading out in their post if everyone else is (:
[dohtml] "Give him a moment, Addy," Sven tempered after they had each done their part to assure the man, who named himself Lorcan, that they would not harm him. He would of course need to be moved to the medical den, but not before he'd eaten and been thoroughly checked by Ravenna. For all they knew, he had injured one of his legs in his fall or possessed other internal injuries that would make it unwise for him to rush to travel. He nodded at @Ravenna, beckoning her to come closer and make sure the man was fit to be moved now that he had calmed. Anyways, they needed to move on his schedule, for a time at least. Let him breathe, get his bearings, stop the spinning that was surely running wild in his head. A few more gusts of wind wouldn't end him, not with the Ridge pack there to bare the worst of it for him. [Dohtml] Once she'd delivered the mushrooms that Ravenna had asked for and words she hoped would encourage the man she stepped back. Ravenna would need room to look him over Sven was trying to keep him warm and Adeltra was trying to be as helpful as she could. Leotie had to admire the girl for her efforts and from she was going to be a big help to the pack now that she was back. “I can help with getting him back,” she offered. She'd spent enough time in the medical den to know her way around it. Though it did bother her some to see him, the man that called himself Lorcan, in the condition he was in she was still willing to help. After all she wouldn't be where she was with some help. With that thought she stepped forward once more to speak to Lorcan. “You shouldn't be hesitant to ask for help if you need it. It can make all the difference.” With that said she stepped back once more and waited to see if they would need her help. It was easy pulling Lorcan together again when the rest of the pack worked together. Lorcan sniffed the mushrooms but didn't give her much hell around it at all. He ate them, trusting that she had no intention of trying to do him harm. What choice did he have, after all? He offered his name too and a thanks. By the work of Adeltra, Lorcan was calm enough now for her to lay the pelt over him and Sven to return to his side. Adeltra's suggestion to move him was met with a questionable look from Ravenna, lips pulling into a tight line. It was unwise to bring a complete stranger into the Pack's territory, but it also was not kind to leave him out here to die, ether. Her father had died in the snow like this. Her sister. Her aunt. Not to mention, Leotie, Adeltra and Sven knew what it was like to be broken and battered, sick and hungry. There was no way they couldn't help. Not the Willow Ridge wolves. Not the wolves who knew what it was like to be in that position.
"We can soon if he would like to come with us, Adeltra. Let me look over him first." She spoke to her young cousin, moving in to Sven's motioned suggestion for her to come forth now that Lorcan was settled. She moved around him hesitantly, taking her time as she sniffed him, pressed to his limbs with her paws, and pressed her nose to his sides. In the way he had fallen against the rock on his sides, it was likely his ribs were injured. She waited for whatever noise he might make to come from his mouth when she pressed her nose along his torso. "His ribs may be badly bruised, but I cannot feel anywhere that they are broken." At least, from what she could tell, but it would be another manner for the patient himself when he got to moving about. She lifted up to her full height again, looking over to Leotie as she backed up, circling around to Lorcan's front again. "She's right." Ravenna helped to encourage the man that everything was alright. "Leotie was a loner for a bit before Sven got to her. She was in pretty poor condition, but we fixed her right up. Adeltra too, who recently found her way back home to us." Ravenna then lowered her head, nudging the left over muskrat closer to Lorcan, beckoning him to eat before he decided or not if he wanted to stay with them for the time being. The young dark girl did well to calm his nerves some. It was obvious from her tone that she meant him no harm. In fact she seemed exceptionally sweet and caring. Lorcan’s tail thumped against the snow as he offered a small smile to Adeltra, pleased to have her there along with all the other wolves that now surrounded him. It was due to her genuine, kind nature that the agouti male allowed her to carry out her orders and place the thick pelt on top of him. The fur brought an almost instant relief from the freezing wind that funnelled down the rocky slope he had collapsed on. Lorcan released a shaky sigh in relief, causing a cloud of white steam to rise into the frigid winter air. |
