RE: keep your feet on the ground - Nineva - Jun 04, 2018
Second round go! Nineva is confirming that everyone is willing to form the pack here. No posting order, and the final round (where she will delegate claiming duties) will begin on the 8th, so please get posts in before then if you want to claim LP! (:
@Elias @Aytigin @Neha @Aleister @Yuka @Ramiel @Judas [dohtml] Of course they could tell that she wasn't in prime condition, whether it be a change in her scent or the tightening at the corners of her eyes, her slight panting despite the day's cool breeze. Nineva expected that they would take notice, but she didn't expect them to give her so much... care. Even Judas, seemingly the most... independent of them all was clearly concerned. This had all been a cold, calculated business but now, as she looked the gathered group over, from those who were silently watchful to Neha bringing her the medicinal plants she would need, Nineva realized something that should have been apparent to her much earlier. This was her new family. She hadn't wanted this pack to be anything like the Hollow, but here she was in Veho's shoes, appreciative of the closeness that the woodland pack had maintained despite each individual's flaws. Another contraction gripped her, and this time she visible winced. "Yes. I'm in labor, so I won't be able to join you all in what must be done. This is where I am making my home. From this shore deep into the forest, all those ravines and cliffs. It's your final chance, to decide whether or not you want to make a life here with me. If you want to walk away, do it now." RE: keep your feet on the ground - Elias - Jun 06, 2018 a shortie from me
[dohtml]Elias turned slowly, his brows drawn as Neha prodded his shoulder. Following her line of sight his gaze flitted to his paws, Neha had brought him plants. Why? Elias wasn't left in the dark for long, she soon explained that they would help Nin. Oh. He nodded his thanks but said nothing. He wouldn't break the silence, nor would he ruin the moment. This was Nin's time to shine, even if she was in labour. Which was...honestly, a terrifying thought. He shook his head so fast his vision blurred. He could do this, they could do this. Needless to say, Elias wasn't going anywhere, not anytime soon. RE: keep your feet on the ground - Judas - Jun 07, 2018
The wolves that would make up the new pack he would be joining gathered, a sizable group he still felt. After which Nineva went to speak, confirming that the reason for her discomfort and pain was from the coming of her pups. She couldn't wait any longer. They had to settle down and it would be here. Judas was happy for it. He liked the large body of water for it meant always fresh drinking and it would bring food for those looking for a drink as well. He liked the forestry nearby, which was not just flat mostly flat ground with some little hills and knolls. It had ravines, dips, cliffs that jutted up from the ground, caves... Plenty of places to hide, rest, store items and explore. "Place seems pretty nice. I'd like to stay." He spoke up his feelings on the matter, as always. Then his dark grey eyes lowered, down to her belly, and he frowned lightly. It looked awfully painful. "Maybe I Uh... Could take a look around? Find a den or cave for the pups to stay when they're born." Maybe he could make himself a bit more useful whole everyone else was marking borders. That is, if she took on the offer.
RE: keep your feet on the ground - Ramiel - Jun 08, 2018 [dohtml] Ramiel ARCHER
I don't believe in no devil,
'cause I done raised this hell The day that he'd met up with Nin with his brother had been the day that he had pledged his service to the ghostly woman. He would have helped her make a home anywhere she'd chosen but the place they now stood in. Ramiel’d had his chance to explore it a little and he hadn't imagined such a place could exist in the lore. The stories his father had told had never mentioned a place with so many caverns and ravines. He found it to be a perfect place for the soon to be pack.
He was concerned for Nin, it was obvious the pups were on their way and weren't going to wait for them to claim the land. From his place next to Bella he watched the other wolves as they arrived and took their places, they were all concerned for the soon to be Alphess. Then as his brother spoke his dark head turned to look at him before he looked back to Nineva, “You already know my answer,” he stated giving a dip of his head. He rather liked the idea of making his home amongst the caverns and ravines no matter how long it might last. ☾

RE: keep your feet on the ground - Aleister - Jun 08, 2018 [dohtml] aleister vuesain Their monochrome leader acknowledged what was evidently happening with her, but how it wasn't about to stop her from claiming this land. The fact Nineva ignored the pain that certainly surged through her body to speak and direct them, made him respect her even more. She told them of the final choice they had to make, whether or not they were staying. It would be foolish to think any part of him doubted his presence here with how far they traveled. However, there was that little voice in the back of his head that whispered to him. Mismatched gaze turned to glance at his sister that was just ahead of him. He couldn't leave her alone, never again would he let Neha be alone. The choice was final as his gaze lifted to his new leader. RE: keep your feet on the ground - Nineva - Jun 08, 2018
Final round! No posting order, anyone is welcome to try and slip in two posts to get LP if they missed the last round. I will be archiving this thread on the 13th so that we can be official!
@Elias @Aytigin @Neha @Aleister @Yuka @Ramiel @Judas @Bellatrix [dohtml] In a way, she had expected someone to dissent, to complain, to make some kind of trouble or attempt to instill doubts in the other. Again, however, Nineva was pleasantly surprised as they all either vocally or silently gave her their full support, approving of this new home. She swelled once more with pride, looking at them all. It was now, at last, final. Another squeeze from inside sent a wave of pain through her body, causing her fangs to clench and her eyes to squeeze shut. When they opened again, however, she was smiling, determined and at ease with the role she had assumed. "Yes, Judas; go with Neha, and scout out dens. Make our communal den the priority; it won't be the end of the world if my children spend their first few days with the pack. Neha, I'll let you decide where our infirmary should be." She had the experience of both motherhood and herbalism to make informed decisions on both a natal den and whether or not their herb stores should be within the communal den or set aside, and Nineva surely trusted her judgment. "Yuka, take Ramiel and Aytigin and scout for coyotes and other vermin. Make sure our lands are completely cleared, and leave a few carcasses at the borders as a warning. Mark the territory as you go. Aleister, sweep behind them, lend your scent but focus on other details. Prey trails, flora, the like. You," she swept her muzzle toward the girl, the one she'd yet to really meet, "go with him. Pull your weight and a place will be made for you here." Another contraction, another surge of pain that stole her breath, but she'd done what had been needed and now, it was up to them. She gave them a nod of her head to tell them go, before turning and heading toward the water. She was incredibly hot and insufferably thirsty. "Elias. Stay with me." [/dohtml] RE: keep your feet on the ground - Neha - Jun 08, 2018 [dohtml] The silence that she offered and the unyielding resolution in it, spoke volumes. Neha was here to stay, alongside her brother and Nineva, her friend. She may not have been as close to her new matriarch as some other wolves in her young life, as her stay in Grizzly Hollow had only been for a season. But over the span of the past few weeks, and now in this moment, with the birthing of a new pack and new life, she felt a stronger connection with her than ever. Withholding her voice in ever lasting patience, she was keyed into the instructions laid out for each member of what would be their new pack. Her and a jet black, silver eyed male, younger than she, were tasked with selecting a communal den, and herself specifically, responsible for the site of the infirmary. She had no qualms about either. The ex princess had enough experience under her belt to know what would make or break a good site for keeping the packs stash of medicinal herbs safe and readily accessible. A tip of her nose towards Aleister said she would catch up with him later, when they could all rest after their work was done. Chocolate eyes found Judas, one brow raised softly. "Well, shall we?" RE: keep your feet on the ground - Elias - Jun 09, 2018 [dohtml] Even in pain Nineva astounded Elias. He was in awe of how she was able to hold herself with such poise and strength, he couldn't help but watch as she issued her orders and let everyone know what they needed to do. He stood there, legs trembling a little and his eyes wide. Even if she told him to leave he wouldn't, he would be by her side through thick and thin. Still, he could hardly- Elias was nowhere as composed as his dearest was. She made it all look so easy, near effortless. And yet there Elias was, shaking in his boots at the prospect of becoming a father- for real. Leaning over he gently rested his chin on her neck, a quick if not earnest embrace. He was here, he wasn't going anywhere. "Always." He breathed, for her ears only. RE: keep your feet on the ground - Judas - Jun 09, 2018
Though there was plenty in the group as of yet it was only he and his brother which spoke up in confirmation. Judas' head turned to his brother as he spoke, a small smirk touching his expression. He could only hope that he and his brother would have quite a bit of fun here in the ravines and along the lake's shore.
When his new leader spoke up again, it was first directed to Judas. She accepted his offer and instructed him to make finding the pack den the first priority on the list of things to do and as well that he would be traveling with Neha in the process. Judas nodded silently and his large black ears perked as he listened to her instruct the rest of the group on what they would be doing. A final moment and she silently instructed them to get a move on to which Judas attention played on the light tawny woman. "Yeah." He spoke simply, making way over to her and pausing as a snow for her to start the way. |
