RE: high hopes - Legolas - Jul 17, 2018

Jumping for father’s ear was a lot harder than he had thought. It was almost as though father was growing taller, making it even more difficult for the boy to reach his goal. His determined growls hummed louder as he used his oversized forepaws to clamber onto his father’s shoulder, tiny grunts escaping him as he attempted to reach his goal. But every time he got close Lachesis’ head would turn or his ear would flick out of the way, causing the boy to tumble down the side of Lachesis’ body and collapse into a heap on the ground. Come on! He whined silently, his tail thumping against the ground as he launched himself forward once more, his little needles inches away from his father’s ear. He would not rest until he met his goal—even if his eyelids were beginning to droop and his joints were growing weary.

RE: high hopes - Lachesis - Jul 17, 2018

A sharp pinch alerted the Stark that the boy had met his mark a second time. Fortunately, for Lachesis, his son was quick to release his prey after making contact. A low growl of approval rolled off his tongue as he nosed the boy’s plump stomach with his nose, the corners of his mouth curling upward. Little Legolas had done well today; overcoming his fear of the outside world and practicing his hunting abilities. Sure, a dead mouse and his father were easy prey, but it was still a success in Lachesis’ eyes. Especially since most of the boy’s roughhousing was done inside the den. Come, come, he urged, motioning for his son to follow him as he uncoiled his legs from beneath him, let’s see if your siblings are awake, too. Maybe they would want to join in on the fun. Lachesis enjoyed every second of one-on-one time he got with his children, but he knew it was important for them to bond as siblings. Especially when their older siblings were no longer around to protect them.

Success! The boy did not let go out of sympathy for his father, but out of surprise that he had actually caught his father’s ear. He fell onto his rump with a wide, toothy grin and searched desperately for his father’s brilliant chartreuse gaze. He was met with a rewarding smile, causing his tail to thump frantically against the ground. Another mouse-like squeak was emitted from his tiny body as his father’s cold, wet nose pressed into his stomach. Gross! He slapped the pale male’s maw away with a few clumsy swats of his forepaws (despite the wide grin remaining on his own lips). His expression, however, softened as his father mentioned seeking out his siblings. The boy would had preferred spending more time with his father, but he was not opposed to pestering his siblings either… especially with father was almost always on his side. Leith could be a bit of a handful, but so could Makvala when she was in one of her moods. But with father on his side Legolas was invincible… so he nodded and pushed himself to a stand. With frantic steps the boy propelled himself toward the mouth of their den, his tiny nose poking in as he searched for the familiar shapes of his siblings… maybe they needed to be woken up by force…? Fade — thread complete.
