RE: Tiptoeing on the edge - Neha - Oct 09, 2018

The debate was over. Neha looked on as Nineva seemed to visibly sag. Seeing her own agouti image this way was one thing; she had gotten used to it. Seeing it worn by another wolf, was something different entirely. She didn't like it. That look didn't fit Nineva, like a poorly crafted gown.

Her face softened slightly, but there would never be erasing any of the hard edges permanently engraved there. Her words struck a chord in her heart. Nineva was left feeling deflated and useless, Neha feeling more guilty and confused than ever. All she had wanted was to vent, to make her point heard. Not to be agreed with or instill doubt. She shook her head, her voice low. "We all make mistakes, Nineva." A bitter smirk crawled to her maw. "I seem to be good at it." Making no move to block her path or keep her any longer, she nodded. "You don't have to ask. I'd never keep you from her." Lingering, she gave Nin an extra moment to slink back into the den. Outside she stared blankly at the entrance. Then, decisively, she turned and left to scour the canyons. She was not alone in her new, temporary position. There was at least one other wolf she hoped she could confide in, and hash together a solution to this mess.
